The Rocky Tract
1 الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانٖ مُّبِينٖalif-lam-raالرالٓرAlif Laam Ra.til'kaتلكتِلْكَTheseāyātuآياتءَايَٰتُ(are) the Versesl-kitābiالكتابٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookwaqur'āninوقرآنوَقُرْءَانٍand Quranmubīninمبينمُّبِينٍclear.Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verses of the Scripture and a plain Reading.Alif Lām Ra[1]. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur’an.Alif, Lām, Rā.[668] These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur’ān [i.e., recitation].A. L. R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear.
2 رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ كَانُواْ مُسۡلِمِينَrubamāربمارُّبَمَاPerhapsyawadduيوديَوَدُّwill wishalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whokafarūكفرواكَفَرُواْdisbelieved,lawلولَوْifkānūكانواكَانُواْthey had beenmus'limīnaمسلمينمُسْلِمِينَMuslims.It may be that those who disbelieve wish ardently that they were Muslims.The disbelievers will soon[2] wish that they were Muslims.Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish[669] that they had been Muslims.Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah's will) in Islam.
3 ذَرۡهُمۡ يَأۡكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَdharhumذرهمذَرْهُمْLeave themyakulūيأكلوايَأْكُلُواْ(to) eatwayatamattaʿūويتمتعواوَيَتَمَتَّعُواْand enjoywayul'hihimuويلههموَيُلْهِهِمُand diverted theml-amaluالأملٱلْأَمَلُthe hope,fasawfaفسوففَسَوْفَthen soonyaʿlamūnaيعلمونيَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know.Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know!Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted with false hope; they will come to know.Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know.Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them).
4 وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٞ مَّعۡلُومٞwamāوماوَمَآAnd notahlaknāأهلكناأَهْلَكْنَاWe destroyedminمنمِنanyqaryatinقريةقَرْيَةٍtownillāإلاإِلَّاbutwalahāولهاوَلَهَا(there was) for itkitābunكتابكِتَابٌa decreemaʿlūmunمعلوممَّعْلُومٌknown.And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it.We never destroyed any town except that it had a destined time.And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree.Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand.
5 مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَمامَّاNottasbiquتسبقتَسْبِقُ(can) advanceminمنمِنْanyummatinأمةأُمَّةٍnationajalahāأجلهاأَجَلَهَاits termwamāوماوَمَاand notyastakhirūnaيستأخرونيَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ(can) delay it.No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind.No nation can advance its appointed time, nor can they delay it.No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter.Neither can a people anticipate its term, nor delay it.
6 وَقَالُواْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونٞwaqālūوقالواوَقَالُواْAnd they say,yāayyuhāيا أيهايَٰٓأَيُّهَا"O youalladhīالذيٱلَّذِى(to) whomnuzzilaنزلنُزِّلَhas been sent downʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِ[on him]l-dhik'ruالذكرٱلذِّكْرُthe Reminder,innakaإنكإِنَّكَindeed, youlamajnūnunلمجنونلَمَجْنُونٌ(are) surely mad.And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman!They say, “O you to whom the Reminder has been sent down, You are surely insane[3]!And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.[670]They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! truly thou art mad (or possessed)!
7 لَّوۡمَا تَأۡتِينَا بِٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَlawلولَّوْWhyمامَاnottatīnāتأتيناتَأْتِينَاyou bring to usbil-malāikatiبالملائكةبِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِthe Angels,inإنإِنifkuntaكنتكُنتَyou areminaمنمِنَofl-ṣādiqīnaالصادقينٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful?"Why bringest thou not angels unto us, if thou art of the truthful?Why do you not bring us the angels, if you are truthful?”Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?""Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?"
8 مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا مُّنظَرِينَمامَاNotnunazziluننزلنُنَزِّلُWe send downl-malāikataالملائكةٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelsillāإلاإِلَّاexceptbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truth;wamāوماوَمَاand notkānūكانواكَانُوٓاْthey would beidhanإذاإِذًاthenmunẓarīnaمنظرينمُّنظَرِينَgiven respite.We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated.We do not send down the angels except for a just cause, and then [the disbelievers] would be granted no respite[4].We do not send down the angels except with truth;[671] and they [i.e., the disbelievers] would not then be reprieved.We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have!
9 إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَinnāإناإِنَّاIndeed, WenaḥnuنحننَحْنُWenazzalnāنزلنانَزَّلْنَاhave sent downl-dhik'raالذكرٱلذِّكْرَthe Reminder,wa-innāوإناوَإِنَّاand indeed, Welahuلهلَهُۥof itlaḥāfiẓūnaلحافظونلَحَٰفِظُونَ(are) surely Guardians.Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian.It is We Who have sent down the Reminder[5], and it is We Who will preserve it[6].Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Qur’ān], and indeed, We will be its guardian.We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
10 وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyarsalnāأرسلناأَرْسَلْنَاWe (had) sentminمنمِنbefore youqablikaقبلكقَبْلِكَbefore youفيفِىinshiyaʿiشيعشِيَعِthe sectsl-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people).We verily sent (messengers) before thee among the factions of the men of old.We did send messengers before you among the factions of early peoples.And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muḥammad], among the sects of the former peoples.We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old:
11 وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَwamāوماوَمَاAnd notyatīhimيأتيهميَأْتِيهِمcame to themminمنمِّنanyrasūlinرسولرَّسُولٍMessengerillāإلاإِلَّاbutkānūكانواكَانُواْthey didbihiبهبِهِۦat himyastahziūnaيستهزئونيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock.And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him.No messenger came to them except that they ridiculed him.And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him.
12 كَذَٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَkadhālikaكذلككَذَٰلِكَThusnaslukuhuنسلكهنَسْلُكُهُۥWe let it enterفيفِىinqulūbiقلوبقُلُوبِ(the) heartsl-muj'rimīnaالمجرمينٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminals.Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty:This is how We let this [denial] enter the hearts of the wicked[7].Thus do We insert it [i.e., denial] into the hearts of the criminals.Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners -
13 لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَلالَاNotyu'minūnaيؤمنونيُؤْمِنُونَthey believebihiبهبِهِۦin it,waqadوقدوَقَدْand verilykhalatخلتخَلَتْhave passedsunnatuسنةسُنَّةُthe way(s)l-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people).They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before.They will not believe in it, although the examples of the earlier people are well established.They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away.
14 وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم بَابٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعۡرُجُونَwalawولووَلَوْAnd (even) iffataḥnāفتحنافَتَحْنَاWe openedʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمto thembābanبابابَابًاa gateminaمنمِّنَfroml-samāiالسماءٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven,faẓallūفظلوافَظَلُّواْand they were to continuefīhiفيهفِيهِthereinyaʿrujūnaيعرجونيَعْرُجُونَ(to) ascend,And even if We opened unto them a gate of heaven and they kept mounting through it,Even if We were to open for them a gateway to the heaven, through which they kept ascending,And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,
15 لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَlaqālūلقالوالَقَالُوٓاْThey would surely sayinnamāإنماإِنَّمَا"Onlysukkiratسكرتسُكِّرَتْhave been dazzledabṣārunāأبصارناأَبْصَٰرُنَاour eyes.balبلبَلْNay,naḥnuنحننَحْنُweqawmunقومقَوْمٌ(are) a peoplemasḥūrūnaمسحورونمَّسْحُورُونَbewitched."They would say: Our sight is wrong - nay, but we are folk bewitched.they would still say, “Our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been bewitched.”They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic."They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery."
16 وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verilyjaʿalnāجعلناجَعَلْنَاWe have placedفيفِىinl-samāiالسماءٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavensburūjanبروجابُرُوجًاconstellationswazayyannāhāوزيناهاوَزَيَّنَّٰهَاand We have beautified itlilnnāẓirīnaللناظرينلِلنَّٰظِرِينَfor the observers.And verily in the heaven we have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for beholders.We have placed constellations in the heaven and adorned it for the onlookers,And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers.It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders;
17 وَحَفِظۡنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٍwaḥafiẓ'nāhāوحفظناهاوَحَفِظْنَٰهَاAnd We have protected itminمنمِنfromkulliكلكُلِّeveryshayṭāninشيطانشَيْطَٰنٍdevilrajīminرجيمرَّجِيمٍaccursed.And We have guarded it from every outcast devil,and We have guarded it from every accursed devil,And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allāh]And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil:
18 إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٞ مُّبِينٞillāإلاإِلَّاExceptmaniمنمَنِ(one) whois'taraqaاسترقٱسْتَرَقَstealsl-samʿaالسمعٱلسَّمْعَthe hearing,fa-atbaʿahuفأتبعهفَأَتْبَعَهُۥthen follows himshihābunشهابشِهَابٌa burning flamemubīnunمبينمُّبِينٌclear.Save him who stealeth the hearing, and them doth a clear flame pursue.except the one who manages to eavesdrop, he will then be pursued by a visible burning flame.Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame.But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see).
19 وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَٰهَا وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مَّوۡزُونٖwal-arḍaوالأرضوَٱلْأَرْضَAnd the earth,madadnāhāمددناهامَدَدْنَٰهَاWe have spread itwa-alqaynāوألقيناوَأَلْقَيْنَاand [We] castfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinrawāsiyaرواسيرَوَٰسِىَfirm mountainswa-anbatnāوأنبتناوَأَنۢبَتْنَاand [We] caused to growfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinminمنمِنofkulliكلكُلِّeveryshayinشيءشَىْءٍthingmawzūninموزونمَّوْزُونٍwell-balanced.And the earth have We spread out, and placed therein firm hills, and caused each seemly thing to grow therein.As for the earth, We have spread it out and placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein everything in due proportion.And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance.
20 وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَwajaʿalnāوجعلناوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madelakumلكملَكُمْfor youfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinmaʿāyishaمعايشمَعَٰيِشَmeans of livingwamanومنوَمَنand whomlastumلستملَّسْتُمْyou are notlahuلهلَهُۥfor himbirāziqīnaبرازقينبِرَٰزِقِينَproviders.And we have given unto you livelihoods therein, and unto those for whom ye provide not.And We have made therein for you means of sustenance and for those[8] whom you do not provide.And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers.[672]And We have provided therein means of subsistence,- for you and for those for whose sustenance ye are not responsible.
21 وَإِن مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖwa-inوإنوَإِنAnd notminمنمِّن(is) anyshayinشيءشَىْءٍthingillāإلاإِلَّاbutʿindanāعندناعِندَنَاwith Uskhazāinuhuخزائنهخَزَآئِنُهُۥ(are) its treasures,wamāوماوَمَاand notnunazziluhuننزلهنُنَزِّلُهُۥٓWe send it downillāإلاإِلَّاexceptbiqadarinبقدربِقَدَرٍin a measuremaʿlūminمعلوممَّعْلُومٍknown.And there is not a thing but with Us are the stores thereof. And we send it not down save in appointed measure.There is nothing except that We have its treasuries, and We do not send it down except in a determined measure.And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known [i.e., specified] measure.And there is not a thing but its (sources and) treasures (inexhaustible) are with Us; but We only send down thereof in due and ascertainable measures.
22 وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَwa-arsalnāوأرسلناوَأَرْسَلْنَاAnd We have sentl-riyāḥaالرياحٱلرِّيَٰحَthe windslawāqiḥaلواقحلَوَٰقِحَfertilizing,fa-anzalnāفأنزلنافَأَنزَلْنَاand We sent downminaمنمِنَfroml-samāiالسماءٱلسَّمَآءِthe skymāanماءمَآءًwater,fa-asqaynākumūhuفأسقيناكموهفَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُand We gave it to you to drink.wamāوماوَمَآAnd notantumأنتمأَنتُمْyoulahuلهلَهُۥof itbikhāzinīnaبخازنينبِخَٰزِنِينَ(are) retainers.And We send the winds fertilising, and cause water to descend from the sky, and give it you to drink. It is not ye who are the holders of the store thereof.And We send fertilizing winds[9], and send down rain from the sky for you to drink, and it is not you who could store it.And We have sent the fertilizing winds[673] and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores.
23 وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡيِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثُونَwa-innāوإناوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, We,lanaḥnuلنحنلَنَحْنُsurely [We]nuḥ'yīنحيينُحْىِۦWe give lifewanumītuونميتوَنُمِيتُand We cause death,wanaḥnuونحنوَنَحْنُand Wel-wārithūnaالوارثونٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ(are) the Inheritors.Lo! and it is We, even We, Who quicken and give death, and We are the Inheritor.Indeed, it is We Who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritors [of all things].And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.[674]And verily, it is We Who give life, and Who give death: it is We Who remain inheritors (after all else passes away).
24 وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verilyʿalim'nāعلمناعَلِمْنَاWe knowl-mus'taqdimīnaالمستقدمينٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَthe preceding onesminkumمنكممِنكُمْamong youwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْand verily,ʿalim'nāعلمناعَلِمْنَاWe knowl-mus'takhirīnaالمستأخرينٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَthe later ones.And verily We know the eager among you and verily We know the laggards.We surely know those of you who have gone before and those who are yet to come.And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come].To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind.
25 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٞwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lord,huwaهوهُوَHeyaḥshuruhumيحشرهميَحْشُرُهُمْwill gather them.innahuإنهإِنَّهُۥIndeed, Heḥakīmunحكيمحَكِيمٌ(is) All-Wise,ʿalīmunعليمعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing.Lo! thy Lord will gather them together. Lo! He is Wise, Aware.It is your Lord Who will gather them together. He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.Assuredly it is thy Lord Who will gather them together: for He is perfect in Wisdom and Knowledge.
26 وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verily,khalaqnāخلقناخَلَقْنَاWe createdl-insānaالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنَhumankindminمنمِن(out) ofṣalṣālinصلصالصَلْصَٰلٍsounding clayminمنمِّنْfromḥama-inحمإحَمَإٍblack mudmasnūninمسنونمَّسْنُونٍaltered.Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered,We have created man from sounding clay, made of aging mud[10].And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape;
27 وَٱلۡجَآنَّ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِwal-jānaوالجانوَٱلْجَآنَّAnd the jinnkhalaqnāhuخلقناهخَلَقْنَٰهُWe created itminمنمِنbeforeqabluقبلقَبْلُbeforeminمنمِنfromnāriنارنَّارِfirel-samūmiالسمومٱلسَّمُومِscorching.And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire.And the jinn[11] We created before that, from smokeless fire.And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind.
28 وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖwa-idhوإذوَإِذْAnd whenqālaقالقَالَyour Lord saidrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lord saidlil'malāikatiللملائكةلِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِto the Angels,innīإنيإِنِّى"Indeed, Ikhāliqunخالقخَٰلِقٌۢ(will) createbasharanبشرابَشَرًاa human beingminمنمِّن(out) ofṣalṣālinصلصالصَلْصَٰلٍclayminمنمِّنْfromḥama-inحمإحَمَإٍblack mudmasnūninمسنونمَّسْنُونٍaltered.And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered,And [remember] when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being from sounding clay, made of aging mud.And [mention, O Muḥammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud.Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape;
29 فَإِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَfa-idhāفإذافَإِذَاSo, whensawwaytuhuسويتهسَوَّيْتُهُۥI have fashioned himwanafakhtuونفختوَنَفَخْتُand [I] breathedfīhiفيهفِيهِinto himminمنمِنofrūḥīروحيرُّوحِىMy spirit,faqaʿūفقعوافَقَعُواْthen fall downlahuلهلَهُۥto himsājidīnaساجدينسَٰجِدِينَprostrating."So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him.When I have shaped him and breathed into him of My spirit[12], then fall down before him in prostration.”And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul,[675] then fall down to him in prostration.""When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him."
30 فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَfasajadaفسجدفَسَجَدَSo prostratedl-malāikatuالملائكةٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelskulluhumكلهمكُلُّهُمْall of themajmaʿūnaأجمعونأَجْمَعُونَtogether,So the angels fell prostrate, all of them togetherThereupon, all of the angels fell down in prostration,So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely,So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:
31 إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَillāإلاإِلَّآExceptib'līsaإبليسإِبْلِيسَIblis.abāأبىأَبَىٰٓHe refusedanأنأَنtoyakūnaيكونيَكُونَbemaʿaمعمَعَwithl-sājidīnaالساجدينٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrated.Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate.except for Iblīs, who refused to be with those who prostrated[13].Except Iblees;[676] he refused to be with those who prostrated.Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.
32 قَالَ يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,yāib'līsuيا إبليسيَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ"O Iblis!مامَاWhatlakaلكلَكَ(is) for youallāألاأَلَّاthat nottakūnaتكونتَكُونَyou aremaʿaمعمَعَwithl-sājidīnaالساجدينٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrated?"He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate?Allah said, “O Iblīs, what is the matter with you that you were not with those who prostrated?”[Allāh] said, "O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?"(Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?"
33 قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖqālaقالقَالَHe said,lamلملَمْ"I am notakunأكنأَكُن"I am notli-asjudaلأسجدلِّأَسْجُدَ(one) to prostratelibasharinلبشرلِبَشَرٍto a humankhalaqtahuخلقتهخَلَقْتَهُۥwhom You created,minمنمِن(out) ofṣalṣālinصلصالصَلْصَٰلٍclayminمنمِّنْfromḥama-inحمإحَمَإٍblack mudmasnūninمسنونمَّسْنُونٍaltered."He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered!He said, “I am not such to prostrate before a human whom You created from sounding clay, made of aging mud.[14]He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud."(Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape."
34 قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٞqālaقالقَالَHe said,fa-ukh'rujفاخرجفَٱخْرُجْ"Then get outmin'hāمنهامِنْهَاof it,fa-innakaفإنكفَإِنَّكَfor indeed, yourajīmunرجيمرَجِيمٌ(are) expelled.He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast.He said, “Then get out of here[15], for you are accursed,[Allāh] said, "Then depart from it,[677] for indeed, you are expelled.(Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed.
35 وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,ʿalaykaعليكعَلَيْكَupon youl-laʿnataاللعنةٱللَّعْنَةَ(will be) the curseilāإلىإِلَىٰtillyawmiيوميَوْمِ(the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) [the] Judgment."And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment.and the curse will be upon you until the Day of Judgment.”And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense.""And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment."
36 قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,rabbiربرَبِّ"O my Lord!fa-anẓir'nīفأنظرنيفَأَنظِرْنِىٓThen give me respiteilāإلىإِلَىٰtillyawmiيوميَوْمِ(the) Dayyub'ʿathūnaيبعثونيُبْعَثُونَthey are raised."He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised.Iblīs said, “My Lord, then grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected.”He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."
37 قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,fa-innakaفإنكفَإِنَّكَ"Then indeed you,minaمنمِنَ(are) ofl-munẓarīnaالمنظرينٱلْمُنظَرِينَthe ones given respite.He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprievedAllah said, “You are of those who are granted respite[16],[Allāh] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved(Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee
38 إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِilāإلىإِلَىٰTillyawmiيوميَوْمِthe Dayl-waqtiالوقتٱلْوَقْتِ(of) the timel-maʿlūmiالمعلومٱلْمَعْلُومِwell-known."Till the Day of appointed time.until the Day of the Appointed Time[17].”Until the Day of the time well-known.""Till the Day of the Time appointed."
39 قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,rabbiربرَبِّ"My Lord!bimāبمابِمَآBecauseaghwaytanīأغويتنيأَغْوَيْتَنِىYou misled me,la-uzayyinannaلأزيننلَأُزَيِّنَنَّsurely, I will make (evil) fair-seeminglahumلهملَهُمْto themفيفِىinl-arḍiالأرضٱلْأَرْضِthe earthwala-ugh'wiyannahumولأغوينهموَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْand I will mislead themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَallHe said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one,He said, “My Lord, since You have sent me astray[18], I will surely make [sins] alluring to them on earth and mislead them all,[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them [i.e., mankind] on earth, and I will mislead them all(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,-
40 إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَillāإلاإِلَّاExcept,ʿibādakaعبادكعِبَادَكَYour slavesmin'humuمنهممِنْهُمُamong theml-mukh'laṣīnaالمخلصينٱلْمُخْلَصِينَthe ones who are sincere."Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves.except for Your chosen slaves among them.”Except, among them, Your chosen servants.""Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)."
41 قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسۡتَقِيمٌqālaقالقَالَHe said,hādhāهذاهَٰذَا"Thisṣirāṭunصراطصِرَٰطٌ(is) the wayʿalayyaعليعَلَىَّto Memus'taqīmunمستقيممُسْتَقِيمٌstraight.He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me:Allah said, “This is a straight path leading to Me.[Allāh] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight.(Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me.
42 إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيۡسَ لَكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِينَinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,ʿibādīعباديعِبَادِىMy slaves,laysaليسلَيْسَnotlakaلكلَكَyou haveʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْover themsul'ṭānunسلطانسُلْطَٰنٌany authority,illāإلاإِلَّاexceptmaniمنمَنِthose whoittabaʿakaاتبعكٱتَّبَعَكَfollow you,minaمنمِنَofl-ghāwīnaالغاوينٱلْغَاوِينَthe ones who go astray."Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee,You will have no authority over My slaves, except the deviants who follow you.Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators."For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee."
43 وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,jahannamaجهنمجَهَنَّمَHelllamawʿiduhumلموعدهملَمَوْعِدُهُمْ(is) surely the promised place for themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَall.And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place.And Hell is certainly the promised place for them, all together.And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all!
44 لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَٰبٖ لِّكُلِّ بَابٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءٞ مَّقۡسُومٌlahāلهالَهَاFor itsabʿatuسبعةسَبْعَةُ(are) sevenabwābinأبوابأَبْوَٰبٍgates,likulliلكللِّكُلِّfor eachbābinباببَابٍgatemin'humمنهممِّنْهُمْamong themjuz'onجزءجُزْءٌ(is) a portionmaqsūmunمقسوممَّقْسُومٌassigned.It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion.It has seven gates[19]; each gate will have its allotted share of them.”It has seven gates; for every gate is of them [i.e., Satan's followers] a portion designated."To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.
45 إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,l-mutaqīnaالمتقينٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousفيفِى(will be) injannātinجناتجَنَّٰتٍGardenswaʿuyūninوعيونوَعُيُونٍand water springs.Lo! those who ward off (evil) are among gardens and watersprings.The righteous will be in gardens and springs.Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs,The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water).
46 ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَud'khulūhāادخلوهاٱدْخُلُوهَا"Enter itbisalāminبسلامبِسَلَٰمٍin peace,āminīnaآمنينءَامِنِينَsecure."(And it is said unto them): Enter them in peace, secure.“Enter in peace and safety[20]!”[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."(Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security."
47 وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَwanazaʿnāونزعناوَنَزَعْنَاAnd We (will) removeمامَاwhatفيفِى(is) inṣudūrihimصدورهمصُدُورِهِمtheir breastsminمنمِّنْofghillinغلغِلٍّrancorikh'wānanإخواناإِخْوَٰنًا(they will be) brothersʿalāعلىعَلَىٰonsururinسررسُرُرٍthronesmutaqābilīnaمتقابلينمُّتَقَٰبِلِينَfacing each other.And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. As brethren, face to face, (they rest) on couches raised.We will remove all ill feelings from their hearts[21]; like brothers, seated on couches facing one another.And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment,[678] [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).
48 لَا يَمَسُّهُمۡ فِيهَا نَصَبٞ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِينَلالَاNotyamassuhumيمسهميَمَسُّهُمْwill touch themfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinnaṣabunنصبنَصَبٌfatigue,wamāوماوَمَاand nothumهمهُمtheymin'hāمنهامِّنْهَاfrom itbimukh'rajīnaبمخرجينبِمُخْرَجِينَwill be removed.Toil cometh not unto them there, nor will they be expelled from thence.No fatigue will ever touch them therein[22], nor will they ever be made to leave.No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.
49 ۞ نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُnabbiنبئنَبِّئْInformʿibādīعباديعِبَادِىٓMy slavesannīأنيأَنِّىٓthat I,anāأناأَنَاI aml-ghafūruالغفورٱلْغَفُورُthe Oft-Forgiving,l-raḥīmuالرحيمٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful.Announce, (O Muhammad) unto My slaves that verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful,Inform My slaves that I am indeed the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful,[O Muḥammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful,Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;
50 وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِيمُwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatʿadhābīعذابيعَذَابِىMy punishment,huwaهوهُوَitl-ʿadhābuالعذابٱلْعَذَابُ(is) the punishmentl-alīmuالأليمٱلْأَلِيمُthe most painful.And that My doom is the dolorous doom.and that My punishment is the most painful punishment.And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty.
51 وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَwanabbi'humونبئهموَنَبِّئْهُمْAnd inform themʿanعنعَنaboutḍayfiضيفضَيْفِ(the) guestsib'rāhīmaإبراهيمإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahim,And tell them of Abraham's guests,And inform them about the guests of Abraham.And inform them about the guests of Abraham,Tell them about the guests of Abraham.
52 إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَidhإذإِذْWhendakhalūدخلوادَخَلُواْthey enteredʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِupon himfaqālūفقالوافَقَالُواْand said,salāmanسلاماسَلَٰمًا"Peace."qālaقالقَالَHe said,innāإناإِنَّا"Indeed, weminkumمنكممِنكُمْ(are) of youwajilūnaوجلونوَجِلُونَafraid."(How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you.When they entered upon him and said, “Peace!” He said, “We are afraid of you[23].”When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful [i.e., apprehensive] of you."When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!"
53 قَالُواْ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖqālūقالواقَالُواْThey said,لالَا"(Do) nottawjalتوجلتَوْجَلْbe afraid,innāإناإِنَّاindeed, wenubashirukaنبشركنُبَشِّرُكَ[we] bring glad tidings to youbighulāminبغلامبِغُلَٰمٍof a boyʿalīminعليمعَلِيمٍlearned."They said: Be not afraid! Lo! we bring thee good tidings of a boy possessing wisdom.They said, “Do not be afraid; We give you glad tidings of a knowledgeable boy[24].”[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy."They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom."
54 قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,abashartumūnīأبشرتمونيأَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى"Do you give me glad tidingsʿalāعلىعَلَىٰٓ"Do you give me glad tidingsanأنأَنalthoughmassaniyaمسنيمَّسَّنِىَhas overtaken mel-kibaruالكبرٱلْكِبَرُold age?fabimaفبمفَبِمَThen about whattubashirūnaتبشرونتُبَشِّرُونَyou give glad tidings?"He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me? Of what then can ye bring good tidings?He said, “Do you give me glad tidings despite my old age? What glad tidings are you giving me?”He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?"He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?"
55 قَالُواْ بَشَّرۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَٰنِطِينَqālūقالواقَالُواْThey said,basharnākaبشرناكبَشَّرْنَٰكَ"We give you glad tidingsbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّin truth,falāفلافَلَاso (do) nottakunتكنتَكُنbeminaمنمِّنَofl-qāniṭīnaالقانطينٱلْقَٰنِطِينَthe despairing."They said: We bring thee good tidings in truth. So be not thou of the despairing.They said, “We have given you glad tidings in truth, so do not be of those who despair[25].”They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing."They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!"
56 قَالَ وَمَن يَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,wamanومنوَمَن"And whoyaqnaṭuيقنطيَقْنَطُdespairsminمنمِنofraḥmatiرحمةرَّحْمَةِ(the) Mercyrabbihiربهرَبِّهِۦٓ(of) his Lordillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-ḍālūnaالضالونٱلضَّآلُّونَthose who are astray."He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray?He said, “Who would despair of his Lord’s mercy except those who are misguided[26]?”He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?"He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?"
57 قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,famāفمافَمَا"Then whatkhaṭbukumخطبكمخَطْبُكُمْ(is) your business,ayyuhāأيهاأَيُّهَاO messengers?"l-mur'salūnaالمرسلونٱلْمُرْسَلُونَO messengers?"He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)?He said, “So, what is your mission, O messengers?”[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?"
58 قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَqālūقالواقَالُوٓاْThey said,innāإناإِنَّآ"Indeed, weur'sil'nāأرسلناأُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sentilāإلىإِلَىٰtoqawminقومقَوْمٍa people -muj'rimīnaمجرمينمُّجْرِمِينَcriminals,They said: We have been sent unto a guilty folk,They said, “We have been sent to a wicked people[27],They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin,
59 إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَillāإلاإِلَّآExceptālaآلءَالَthe familylūṭinلوطلُوطٍof Lut;innāإناإِنَّاindeed, welamunajjūhumلمنجوهملَمُنَجُّوهُمْsurely will save themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَall(All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one,except the household of Lot; we will surely save them all,Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all"Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All -
60 إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَillāإلاإِلَّاExceptim'ra-atahuامرأتهٱمْرَأَتَهُۥhis wife."qaddarnāقدرناقَدَّرْنَآWe have decreedinnahāإنهاإِنَّهَاthat shelaminaلمنلَمِنَ(is) surely ofl-ghābirīnaالغابرينٱلْغَٰبِرِينَthose who remain behind.Except his wife, of whom We had decreed that she should be of those who stay behind.except his wife[28]; We have decreed that she will be among those who stay behind.”Except his wife." We [i.e., Allāh] decreed that she is of those who remain behind.[679]"Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind."
61 فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَfalammāفلمافَلَمَّاAnd whenjāaجاءجَآءَcameālaآلءَالَ(to the) familylūṭinلوطلُوطٍ(of) Lutl-mur'salūnaالمرسلونٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers,And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot,When the messengers came to the household of Lot[29],And when the messengers came to the family of Lot,At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut,
62 قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,innakumإنكمإِنَّكُمْ"Indeed, youqawmunقومقَوْمٌ(are) a peoplemunkarūnaمنكرونمُّنكَرُونَunknown."He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me).he said, “You are unfamiliar people.”He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown."He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk."
63 قَالُواْ بَلۡ جِئۡنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمۡتَرُونَqālūقالواقَالُواْThey said,balبلبَلْ"Nay,ji'nākaجئناكجِئْنَٰكَwe have come to youbimāبمابِمَاwith whatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey werefīhiفيهفِيهِin ityamtarūnaيمترونيَمْتَرُونَdisputing,They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing,They said, “We have come to you with that [punishment][30] which they have doubted.They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt.
64 وَأَتَيۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَwa-ataynākaوأتيناكوَأَتَيْنَٰكَAnd we have come to youbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truth,wa-innāوإناوَإِنَّاand indeed, welaṣādiqūnaلصادقونلَصَٰدِقُونَsurely (are) truthful.And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers.We have come to you with the truth, and we are certainly truthful.And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful."We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth.
65 فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٞ وَٱمۡضُواْ حَيۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَfa-asriفأسرفَأَسْرِSo travelbi-ahlikaبأهلكبِأَهْلِكَwith your familybiqiṭ'ʿinبقطعبِقِطْعٍin a portionminaمنمِّنَofal-layliالليلٱلَّيْلِthe nightwa-ittabiʿواتبعوَٱتَّبِعْand followadbārahumأدبارهمأَدْبَٰرَهُمْtheir backs,walāولاوَلَاand notyaltafitيلتفتيَلْتَفِتْlet look backminkumمنكممِنكُمْamong youaḥadunأحدأَحَدٌanyone,wa-im'ḍūوامضواوَٱمْضُواْand go onḥaythuحيثحَيْثُwheretu'marūnaتؤمرونتُؤْمَرُونَyou are ordered."So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded.So travel with your household in the dark of night and go behind them; none of you should look back[31], and keep going to where you are commanded.”So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded.""Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered."
66 وَقَضَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقۡطُوعٞ مُّصۡبِحِينَwaqaḍaynāوقضيناوَقَضَيْنَآAnd We conveyedilayhiإليهإِلَيْهِto himdhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَ[that]l-amraالأمرٱلْأَمْرَthe matterannaأنأَنَّthatdābiraدابردَابِرَ(the) roothāulāiهؤلاءهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ(of) thesemaqṭūʿunمقطوعمَقْطُوعٌwould be cut offmuṣ'biḥīnaمصبحينمُّصْبِحِينَ(by) early morning.And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn.We conveyed this decree to him that these [people] will be exterminated by early morning.”And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning.And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning.
67 وَجَآءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَwajāaوجاءوَجَآءَAnd cameahluأهلأَهْلُ(the) peoplel-madīnatiالمدينةٱلْمَدِينَةِ(of) the city,yastabshirūnaيستبشرونيَسْتَبْشِرُونَrejoicing.And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals).The people of the city came [to Lot] rejoicing[32].And the people of the city came rejoicing.[680]The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men).
68 قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيۡفِي فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِqālaقالقَالَHe said,innaإنإِنَّ"Indeed,hāulāiهؤلاءهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseḍayfīضيفيضَيْفِى(are) my guests,falāفلافَلَاso (do) nottafḍaḥūniتفضحونتَفْضَحُونِshame me.He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not!Lot said, “These are my guests, so do not bring shame on me.[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not:
69 وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِwa-ittaqūواتقواوَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearl-lahaاللهٱللَّهَAllah,walāولاوَلَاand (do) nottukh'zūniتخزونتُخْزُونِdisgrace me."And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not!Fear Allah and do not disgrace me.”And fear Allāh and do not disgrace me.""But fear Allah, and shame me not."
70 قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَqālūقالواقَالُوٓاْThey said,awalamأولمأَوَلَمْ"Did notnanhakaننهكنَنْهَكَwe forbid youʿaniعنعَنِfroml-ʿālamīnaالعالمينٱلْعَٰلَمِينَthe world?"They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone?They said, “Did we not forbid you from [protecting] people?”They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?"
71 قَالَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,hāulāiهؤلاءهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ"Thesebanātīبناتيبَنَاتِىٓ(are) my daughtersinإنإِنifkuntumكنتمكُنتُمْyou would befāʿilīnaفاعلينفَٰعِلِينَdoers."He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so).He said, “These are my daughters [to marry], if you must[33].”[Lot] said, "These are my daughters[681] - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)."
72 لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَlaʿamrukaلعمركلَعَمْرُكَBy your lifeinnahumإنهمإِنَّهُمْindeed, theylafīلفيلَفِىwere insakratihimسكرتهمسَكْرَتِهِمْtheir intoxication,yaʿmahūnaيعمهونيَعْمَهُونَwandering blindly.By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death.By your life [O prophet], they were wandering blindly in their intoxication [of lust][34].By your life, [O Muḥammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro.
73 فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِينَfa-akhadhathumuفأخذتهمفَأَخَذَتْهُمُSo, seized theml-ṣayḥatuالصيحةٱلصَّيْحَةُthe awful crymush'riqīnaمشرقينمُشْرِقِينَat sunrise.Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise.So they were seized by the blast at sunrise,So the shriek[682] seized them at sunrise.But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning,
74 فَجَعَلۡنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍfajaʿalnāفجعلنافَجَعَلْنَاAnd We madeʿāliyahāعاليهاعَٰلِيَهَاits highest (part)sāfilahāسافلهاسَافِلَهَاits lowest,wa-amṭarnāوأمطرناوَأَمْطَرْنَاand We rainedʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْupon themḥijāratanحجارةحِجَارَةًstonesminمنمِّنofsijjīlinسجيلسِجِّيلٍbaked clay.And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay.and We turned their cities upside down[35] and rained down on them stones of baked clay.And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay.
75 إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِينَinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,فيفِىindhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatlaāyātinلآياتلَءَايَٰتٍ(are) the Signslil'mutawassimīnaللمتوسمينلِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَfor those who discern.Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs.Indeed, there are signs in this for those who discern[36].Indeed in that are signs for those who discern.Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand.
76 وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍwa-innahāوإنهاوَإِنَّهَاAnd indeed, itlabisabīlinلبسبيللَبِسَبِيلٍ(is) on a roadmuqīminمقيممُّقِيمٍestablished.And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced.And their place is located by a known route[37].And indeed, they [i.e., those cities] are [situated] on an established road.And the (cities were) right on the high-road.
77 إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,فيفِىindhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatlaāyatanلآيةلَءَايَةًsurely (is) a Signlil'mu'minīnaللمؤمنينلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believers.Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers.Indeed, there are signs in this for the believers.Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed.
78 وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَwa-inوإنوَإِنAnd werekānaكانكَانَAnd wereaṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsl-aykatiالأيكةٱلْأَيْكَةِ(of) the woodlaẓālimīnaلظالمينلَظَٰلِمِينَsurely wrongdoers.And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers.And the people of the Forest[38] were wrongdoers.And the companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] were [also] wrongdoers,And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers;
79 فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖfa-intaqamnāفانتقمنافَٱنتَقَمْنَاSo We took retributionmin'humمنهممِنْهُمْfrom them,wa-innahumāوإنهماوَإِنَّهُمَاand indeed, they bothlabi-imāminلبإماملَبِإِمَامٍ(were) on a highwaymubīninمبينمُّبِينٍclear.So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see.So We punished them in retribution, and both [places][39] are by a clear highway.So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway.So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see.
80 وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlykadhabaكذبكَذَّبَdeniedaṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsl-ḥij'riالحجرٱلْحِجْرِ(of) the Rocky Tract,l-mur'salīnaالمرسلينٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers.And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers.Surely the people of Al-Hijr[40] also rejected the messengers.And certainly did the companions of al-Ḥijr[683] [i.e., the Thamūd] deny the messengers.The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers:
81 وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَwaātaynāhumوآتيناهموَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْAnd We gave themāyātināآياتناءَايَٰتِنَاOur Signs,fakānūفكانوافَكَانُواْbut they wereʿanhāعنهاعَنْهَاfrom themmuʿ'riḍīnaمعرضينمُعْرِضِينَturning away.And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them.We gave them Our signs, but they kept turning away from them.And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them.
82 وَكَانُواْ يَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَwakānūوكانواوَكَانُواْAnd they used (to)yanḥitūnaينحتونيَنْحِتُونَcarveminaمنمِنَfroml-jibāliالجبالٱلْجِبَالِthe mountains,buyūtanبيوتابُيُوتًاhouses,āminīnaآمنينءَامِنِينَsecure.And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure.They carved houses in the mountains, feeling secure[41].And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure.
83 فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَfa-akhadhathumuفأخذتهمفَأَخَذَتْهُمُBut seized theml-ṣayḥatuالصيحةٱلصَّيْحَةُthe awful crymuṣ'biḥīnaمصبحينمُصْبِحِينَ(at) early morning,But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour,So they were seized by the blast early in the morning.But the shriek seized them at early morning,But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning,
84 فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَfamāفمافَمَآAnd notaghnāأغنىأَغْنَىٰavailedʿanhumعنهمعَنْهُمthemمامَّاwhatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey used (to)yaksibūnaيكسبونيَكْسِبُونَearn.And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not.Nothing of what they earned was of any avail to them.So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)!
85 وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأٓتِيَةٞۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِيلَwamāوماوَمَاAnd notkhalaqnāخلقناخَلَقْنَاWe createdl-samāwātiالسماواتٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavenswal-arḍaوالأرضوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwamāوماوَمَاand whateverbaynahumāبينهمابَيْنَهُمَآ(is) between themillāإلاإِلَّاexceptbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّin truth.wa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,l-sāʿataالساعةٱلسَّاعَةَthe Hourlaātiyatunلآتيةلَءَاتِيَةٌ(is) surely coming.fa-iṣ'faḥiفاصفحفَٱصْفَحِSo overlookl-ṣafḥaالصفحٱلصَّفْحَ(with) forgivenessl-jamīlaالجميلٱلْجَمِيلَgracious.We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness.We have not created the heavens and earth and all that is between them except for a true purpose. The Hour is certainly coming, so bear with them graciously[42].And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness.
86 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lord,huwaهوهُوَHel-khalāquالخلاقٱلْخَلَّٰقُ(is) the Creatorl-ʿalīmuالعليمٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower.Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator.Indeed, your Lord is the Absolute Creator, the All-Knowing.Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things.
87 وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكَ سَبۡعٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِي وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِيمَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainly,ātaynākaآتيناكءَاتَيْنَٰكَWe have given yousabʿanسبعاسَبْعًاsevenminaمنمِّنَofl-mathānīالمثانيٱلْمَثَانِىthe oft-repeatedwal-qur'ānaوالقرآنوَٱلْقُرْءَانَand the Quranl-ʿaẓīmaالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمَGreat.We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an.We have surely given you the seven oft-repeated verses[43] and the great Qur’an.And We have certainly given you, [O Muḥammad], seven of the often repeated [verses][684] and the great Qur’ān.And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an.
88 لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيۡنَيۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَلالَا(Do) nottamuddannaتمدنتَمُدَّنَّextendʿaynaykaعينيكعَيْنَيْكَyour eyesilāإلىإِلَىٰtowardsمامَاwhatmattaʿnāمتعنامَتَّعْنَاWe have bestowedbihiبهبِهِۦٓwith itazwājanأزواجاأَزْوَٰجًا(to) categoriesmin'humمنهممِّنْهُمْof themwalāولاوَلَاand (do) nottaḥzanتحزنتَحْزَنْgrieveʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْover them.wa-ikh'fiḍواخفضوَٱخْفِضْAnd lowerjanāḥakaجناحكجَنَاحَكَyour winglil'mu'minīnaللمؤمنينلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believers.Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers.Do not look longingly at the pleasures We have given certain classes[44] of them[45], nor grieve over them[46], but lower your wing [in humility] to the believers[47].Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of them [i.e., the disbelievers], and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to the believers.Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers.
89 وَقُلۡ إِنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلۡمُبِينُwaqulوقلوَقُلْAnd say,innīإنيإِنِّىٓ"Indeed, Ianāأناأَنَا[I] aml-nadhīruالنذيرٱلنَّذِيرُa warnerl-mubīnuالمبينٱلْمُبِينُclear."And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner,And say, “I am indeed a clear warner.” –And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" -And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"-
90 كَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِينَkamāكماكَمَآAsanzalnāأنزلناأَنزَلْنَاWe sent downʿalāعلىعَلَىonl-muq'tasimīnaالمقتسمينٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَthose who divided.Such as We send down for those who make division,just as We sent down [punishment] upon those who divided [their religion][48],Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators[685](Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),-
91 ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُواْ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِينَalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَThose whojaʿalūجعلواجَعَلُواْhave madel-qur'ānaالقرآنٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranʿiḍīnaعضينعِضِينَ(in) parts.Those who break the Qur'an into parts.those who split the Qur’an into different portions[49].Who have made the Qur’ān into portions.[686](So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please).
92 فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَfawarabbikaفوربكفَوَرَبِّكَSo by your Lord,lanasalannahumلنسألنهملَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْsurely We will question themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَallThem, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one,By your Lord, We will surely question them allSo by your Lord, We will surely question them allTherefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account,
93 عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَʿammāعماعَمَّاAbout whatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey used (to)yaʿmalūnaيعملونيَعْمَلُونَdo.Of what they used to do.concerning what they used to do.About what they used to do.For all their deeds.
94 فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَfa-iṣ'daʿفاصدعفَٱصْدَعْSo proclaimbimāبمابِمَاof whattu'maruتؤمرتُؤْمَرُyou are orderedwa-aʿriḍوأعرضوَأَعْرِضْand turn awayʿaniعنعَنِfroml-mush'rikīnaالمشركينٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists.So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters.Then proclaim what you are commanded, and turn away from those who associate partners with Allah.Then declare what you are commanded[687] and turn away from the polytheists.[688]Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah.
95 إِنَّا كَفَيۡنَٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِينَinnāإناإِنَّاIndeed, Wekafaynākaكفيناككَفَيْنَٰكَ[We] are sufficient for youl-mus'tahziīnaالمستهزئينٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ(against) the mockersLo! We defend thee from the scoffers,We will surely suffice you against the mockers[50],Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockersFor sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,-
96 ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَThose whoyajʿalūnaيجعلونيَجْعَلُونَset upmaʿaمعمَعَwithl-lahiاللهٱللَّهِAllahilāhanإلهاإِلَٰهًاgodākharaآخرءَاخَرَanother.fasawfaفسوففَسَوْفَBut soonyaʿlamūnaيعلمونيَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know.Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know.those who set up beside Allah another god; they will come to know.Who make [equal] with Allāh another deity. But they are going to know.Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know.
97 وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verily,naʿlamuنعلمنَعْلَمُWe knowannakaأنكأَنَّكَthat [you]yaḍīquيضيقيَضِيقُ(is) straitenedṣadrukaصدركصَدْرُكَyour breastbimāبمابِمَاby whatyaqūlūnaيقولونيَقُولُونَthey say.Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say,We know that you are distressed by what they say.And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say.We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say.
98 فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَfasabbiḥفسبحفَسَبِّحْSo glorifybiḥamdiبحمدبِحَمْدِwith the praiserabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordwakunوكنوَكُنand beminaمنمِّنَofl-sājidīnaالساجدينٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrate.But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him).So glorify your Lord with praise and be among those who prostrate [to Him][51],So exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him].But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration.
99 وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَكَ ٱلۡيَقِينُwa-uʿ'budواعبدوَٱعْبُدْAnd worshiprabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordḥattāحتىحَتَّىٰuntilyatiyakaيأتيكيَأْتِيَكَcomes to youl-yaqīnuاليقينٱلْيَقِينُthe certainty.And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee.and worship your Lord until the certainty [of death] comes to you.And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty [i.e., death].And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain.
1 الر تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَقُرْآنٍ مُّبِينٍ
2 رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ كَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ
3 ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
4 وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
5 مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ
6 وَقَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ
7 لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلَائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
8 مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوا إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
9 إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
10 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ
11 وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
12 كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
13 لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
14 وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَظَلُّوا فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
15 لَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ
16 وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ
17 وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ
18 إِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
19 وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ
20 وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَازِقِينَ
21 وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَائِنُهُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
22 وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيَاحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوهُ وَمَا أَنتُمْ لَهُ بِخَازِنِينَ
23 وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ
24 وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ
25 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ إِنَّهُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
26 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
27 وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ السَّمُومِ
28 وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
29 فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ
30 فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
31 إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ
32 قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ
33 قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
34 قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
35 وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
36 قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
37 قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ
38 إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ
39 قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
40 إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
41 قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
42 إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ
43 وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44 لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ
45 إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
46 ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ آمِنِينَ
47 وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ
48 لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
49 ۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
50 وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الْأَلِيمُ
51 وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
52 إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
53 قَالُوا لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ
54 قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
55 قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الْقَانِطِينَ
56 قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلَّا الضَّالُّونَ
57 قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
58 قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
59 إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
60 إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَا إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
61 فَلَمَّا جَاءَ آلَ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ
62 قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
63 قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
64 وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ
65 فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
66 وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ الْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
67 وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
68 قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
69 وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
70 قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
71 قَالَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ
72 لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
73 فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
74 فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
75 إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
76 وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ
77 إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
78 وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ
79 فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
80 وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
81 وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
82 وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا آمِنِينَ
83 فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
84 فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
85 وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ
86 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ
87 وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ
88 لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
89 وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ
90 كَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
91 الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ
92 فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
93 عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
94 فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
95 إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ
96 الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
97 وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
98 فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ السَّاجِدِينَ
99 وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ
1 الٓرۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٖ مُّبِينٖalif-lam-raالرالٓرAlif Laam Ra.til'kaتلكتِلْكَTheseāyātuآياتءَايَٰتُ(are) the Versesl-kitābiالكتابٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookwaqur'āninوقرآنوَقُرْءَانٍand Quranmubīninمبينمُّبِينٍclear.Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verses of the Scripture and a plain Reading.Alif Lām Ra[1]. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur’an.Alif, Lām, Rā.[668] These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur’ān [i.e., recitation].A. L. R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear.
2 رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ كَانُواْ مُسْلِمِينَrubamāربمارُّبَمَاPerhapsyawadduيوديَوَدُّwill wishalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whokafarūكفرواكَفَرُواْdisbelieved,lawلولَوْifkānūكانواكَانُواْthey had beenmus'limīnaمسلمينمُسْلِمِينَMuslims.It may be that those who disbelieve wish ardently that they were Muslims.The disbelievers will soon[2] wish that they were Muslims.Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish[669] that they had been Muslims.Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah's will) in Islam.
3 ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَdharhumذرهمذَرْهُمْLeave themyakulūيأكلوايَأْكُلُواْ(to) eatwayatamattaʿūويتمتعواوَيَتَمَتَّعُواْand enjoywayul'hihimuويلههموَيُلْهِهِمُand diverted theml-amaluالأملٱلْأَمَلُthe hope,fasawfaفسوففَسَوْفَthen soonyaʿlamūnaيعلمونيَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know.Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know!Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted with false hope; they will come to know.Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know.Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them).
4 وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابَ مَّعْلُومَwamāوماوَمَآAnd notahlaknāأهلكناأَهْلَكْنَاWe destroyedminمنمِنanyqaryatinقريةقَرْيَةٍtownillāإلاإِلَّاbutwalahāولهاوَلَهَا(there was) for itkitābunكتابكِتَابٌa decreemaʿlūmunمعلوممَّعْلُومٌknown.And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it.We never destroyed any town except that it had a destined time.And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree.Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand.
5 مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَمامَّاNottasbiquتسبقتَسْبِقُ(can) advanceminمنمِنْanyummatinأمةأُمَّةٍnationajalahāأجلهاأَجَلَهَاits termwamāوماوَمَاand notyastakhirūnaيستأخرونيَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ(can) delay it.No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind.No nation can advance its appointed time, nor can they delay it.No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter.Neither can a people anticipate its term, nor delay it.
6 وَقَالُواْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونَwaqālūوقالواوَقَالُواْAnd they say,yāayyuhāيا أيهايَٰٓأَيُّهَا"O youalladhīالذيٱلَّذِى(to) whomnuzzilaنزلنُزِّلَhas been sent downʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِ[on him]l-dhik'ruالذكرٱلذِّكْرُthe Reminder,innakaإنكإِنَّكَindeed, youlamajnūnunلمجنونلَمَجْنُونٌ(are) surely mad.And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman!They say, “O you to whom the Reminder has been sent down, You are surely insane[3]!And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.[670]They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! truly thou art mad (or possessed)!
7 لَّوْمَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَlawلولَّوْWhyمامَاnottatīnāتأتيناتَأْتِينَاyou bring to usbil-malāikatiبالملائكةبِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِthe Angels,inإنإِنifkuntaكنتكُنتَyou areminaمنمِنَofl-ṣādiqīnaالصادقينٱلصَّٰدِقِينَthe truthful?"Why bringest thou not angels unto us, if thou art of the truthful?Why do you not bring us the angels, if you are truthful?”Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?""Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?"
8 مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا مُّنظَرِينَمامَاNotnunazziluننزلنُنَزِّلُWe send downl-malāikataالملائكةٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelsillāإلاإِلَّاexceptbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truth;wamāوماوَمَاand notkānūكانواكَانُوٓاْthey would beidhanإذاإِذًاthenmunẓarīnaمنظرينمُّنظَرِينَgiven respite.We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated.We do not send down the angels except for a just cause, and then [the disbelievers] would be granted no respite[4].We do not send down the angels except with truth;[671] and they [i.e., the disbelievers] would not then be reprieved.We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have!
9 إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَٰفِظُونَinnāإناإِنَّاIndeed, WenaḥnuنحننَحْنُWenazzalnāنزلنانَزَّلْنَاhave sent downl-dhik'raالذكرٱلذِّكْرَthe Reminder,wa-innāوإناوَإِنَّاand indeed, Welahuلهلَهُof itlaḥāfiẓūnaلحافظونلَحَٰفِظُونَ(are) surely Guardians.Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian.It is We Who have sent down the Reminder[5], and it is We Who will preserve it[6].Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Qur’ān], and indeed, We will be its guardian.We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
10 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyarsalnāأرسلناأَرْسَلْنَاWe (had) sentminمنمِنbefore youqablikaقبلكقَبْلِكَbefore youفيفِىinshiyaʿiشيعشِيَعِthe sectsl-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people).We verily sent (messengers) before thee among the factions of the men of old.We did send messengers before you among the factions of early peoples.And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muḥammad], among the sects of the former peoples.We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old:
11 وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَwamāوماوَمَاAnd notyatīhimيأتيهميَأْتِيهِمcame to themminمنمِّنanyrasūlinرسولرَّسُولٍMessengerillāإلاإِلَّاbutkānūكانواكَانُواْthey didbihiبهبِهِۦat himyastahziūnaيستهزئونيَسْتَهْزِءُونَmock.And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him.No messenger came to them except that they ridiculed him.And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him.
12 كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَkadhālikaكذلككَذَٰلِكَThusnaslukuhuنسلكهنَسْلُكُهُWe let it enterفيفِىinqulūbiقلوبقُلُوبِ(the) heartsl-muj'rimīnaالمجرمينٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ(of) the criminals.Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty:This is how We let this [denial] enter the hearts of the wicked[7].Thus do We insert it [i.e., denial] into the hearts of the criminals.Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners -
13 لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَلالَاNotyu'minūnaيؤمنونيُؤْمِنُونَthey believebihiبهبِهِۦin it,waqadوقدوَقَدْand verilykhalatخلتخَلَتْhave passedsunnatuسنةسُنَّةُthe way(s)l-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَ(of) the former (people).They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before.They will not believe in it, although the examples of the earlier people are well established.They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away.
14 وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَwalawولووَلَوْAnd (even) iffataḥnāفتحنافَتَحْنَاWe openedʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمto thembābanبابابَابًاa gateminaمنمِّنَfroml-samāiالسماءٱلسَّمَآءِthe heaven,faẓallūفظلوافَظَلُّواْand they were to continuefīhiفيهفِيهِthereinyaʿrujūnaيعرجونيَعْرُجُونَ(to) ascend,And even if We opened unto them a gate of heaven and they kept mounting through it,Even if We were to open for them a gateway to the heaven, through which they kept ascending,And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,
15 لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمَ مَّسْحُورُونَlaqālūلقالوالَقَالُوٓاْThey would surely sayinnamāإنماإِنَّمَا"Onlysukkiratسكرتسُكِّرَتْhave been dazzledabṣārunāأبصارناأَبْصَٰرُنَاour eyes.balبلبَلْNay,naḥnuنحننَحْنُweqawmunقومقَوْمٌ(are) a peoplemasḥūrūnaمسحورونمَّسْحُورُونَbewitched."They would say: Our sight is wrong - nay, but we are folk bewitched.they would still say, “Our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been bewitched.”They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic."They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery."
16 وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verilyjaʿalnāجعلناجَعَلْنَاWe have placedفيفِىinl-samāiالسماءٱلسَّمَآءِthe heavensburūjanبروجابُرُوجًاconstellationswazayyannāhāوزيناهاوَزَيَّنَّٰهَاand We have beautified itlilnnāẓirīnaللناظرينلِلنَّٰظِرِينَfor the observers.And verily in the heaven we have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for beholders.We have placed constellations in the heaven and adorned it for the onlookers,And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers.It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders;
17 وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٍwaḥafiẓ'nāhāوحفظناهاوَحَفِظْنَٰهَاAnd We have protected itminمنمِنfromkulliكلكُلِّeveryshayṭāninشيطانشَيْطَٰنٍdevilrajīminرجيمرَّجِيمٍaccursed.And We have guarded it from every outcast devil,and We have guarded it from every accursed devil,And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allāh]And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil:
18 إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابَ مُّبِينَillāإلاإِلَّاExceptmaniمنمَنِ(one) whois'taraqaاسترقٱسْتَرَقَstealsl-samʿaالسمعٱلسَّمْعَthe hearing,fa-atbaʿahuفأتبعهفَأَتْبَعَهُthen follows himshihābunشهابشِهَابٌa burning flamemubīnunمبينمُّبِينٌclear.Save him who stealeth the hearing, and them doth a clear flame pursue.except the one who manages to eavesdrop, he will then be pursued by a visible burning flame.Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame.But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see).
19 وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٖ مَّوْزُونٖwal-arḍaوالأرضوَٱلْأَرْضَAnd the earth,madadnāhāمددناهامَدَدْنَٰهَاWe have spread itwa-alqaynāوألقيناوَأَلْقَيْنَاand [We] castfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinrawāsiyaرواسيرَوَٰسِىَfirm mountainswa-anbatnāوأنبتناوَأَنۢبَتْنَاand [We] caused to growfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinminمنمِنofkulliكلكُلِّeveryshayinشيءشَىْءٍthingmawzūninموزونمَّوْزُونٍwell-balanced.And the earth have We spread out, and placed therein firm hills, and caused each seemly thing to grow therein.As for the earth, We have spread it out and placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein everything in due proportion.And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing.And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance.
20 وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَٰزِقِينَwajaʿalnāوجعلناوَجَعَلْنَاAnd We have madelakumلكملَكُمْfor youfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinmaʿāyishaمعايشمَعَٰيِشَmeans of livingwamanومنوَمَنand whomlastumلستملَّسْتُمْyou are notlahuلهلَهُfor himbirāziqīnaبرازقينبِرَٰزِقِينَproviders.And we have given unto you livelihoods therein, and unto those for whom ye provide not.And We have made therein for you means of sustenance and for those[8] whom you do not provide.And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers.[672]And We have provided therein means of subsistence,- for you and for those for whose sustenance ye are not responsible.
21 وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعْلُومٖwa-inوإنوَإِنAnd notminمنمِّن(is) anyshayinشيءشَىْءٍthingillāإلاإِلَّاbutʿindanāعندناعِندَنَاwith Uskhazāinuhuخزائنهخَزَآئِنُهُ(are) its treasures,wamāوماوَمَاand notnunazziluhuننزلهنُنَزِّلُهُٓWe send it downillāإلاإِلَّاexceptbiqadarinبقدربِقَدَرٍin a measuremaʿlūminمعلوممَّعْلُومٍknown.And there is not a thing but with Us are the stores thereof. And we send it not down save in appointed measure.There is nothing except that We have its treasuries, and We do not send it down except in a determined measure.And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known [i.e., specified] measure.And there is not a thing but its (sources and) treasures (inexhaustible) are with Us; but We only send down thereof in due and ascertainable measures.
22 وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُ بِخَٰزِنِينَwa-arsalnāوأرسلناوَأَرْسَلْنَاAnd We have sentl-riyāḥaالرياحٱلرِّيَٰحَthe windslawāqiḥaلواقحلَوَٰقِحَfertilizing,fa-anzalnāفأنزلنافَأَنزَلْنَاand We sent downminaمنمِنَfroml-samāiالسماءٱلسَّمَآءِthe skymāanماءمَآءًwater,fa-asqaynākumūhuفأسقيناكموهفَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُand We gave it to you to drink.wamāوماوَمَآAnd notantumأنتمأَنتُمْyoulahuلهلَهُof itbikhāzinīnaبخازنينبِخَٰزِنِينَ(are) retainers.And We send the winds fertilising, and cause water to descend from the sky, and give it you to drink. It is not ye who are the holders of the store thereof.And We send fertilizing winds[9], and send down rain from the sky for you to drink, and it is not you who could store it.And We have sent the fertilizing winds[673] and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores.
23 وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَwa-innāوإناوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, We,lanaḥnuلنحنلَنَحْنُsurely [We]nuḥ'yīنحيينُحْىِۦWe give lifewanumītuونميتوَنُمِيتُand We cause death,wanaḥnuونحنوَنَحْنُand Wel-wārithūnaالوارثونٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ(are) the Inheritors.Lo! and it is We, even We, Who quicken and give death, and We are the Inheritor.Indeed, it is We Who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritors [of all things].And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.[674]And verily, it is We Who give life, and Who give death: it is We Who remain inheritors (after all else passes away).
24 وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verilyʿalim'nāعلمناعَلِمْنَاWe knowl-mus'taqdimīnaالمستقدمينٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَthe preceding onesminkumمنكممِنكُمْamong youwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْand verily,ʿalim'nāعلمناعَلِمْنَاWe knowl-mus'takhirīnaالمستأخرينٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَthe later ones.And verily We know the eager among you and verily We know the laggards.We surely know those of you who have gone before and those who are yet to come.And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come].To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind.
25 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْۚ إِنَّهُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمَwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lord,huwaهوهُوَHeyaḥshuruhumيحشرهميَحْشُرُهُمْwill gather them.innahuإنهإِنَّهُIndeed, Heḥakīmunحكيمحَكِيمٌ(is) All-Wise,ʿalīmunعليمعَلِيمٌAll-Knowing.Lo! thy Lord will gather them together. Lo! He is Wise, Aware.It is your Lord Who will gather them together. He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.Assuredly it is thy Lord Who will gather them together: for He is perfect in Wisdom and Knowledge.
26 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٖ مِّنْ حَمَإٖ مَّسْنُونٖwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verily,khalaqnāخلقناخَلَقْنَاWe createdl-insānaالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنَhumankindminمنمِن(out) ofṣalṣālinصلصالصَلْصَٰلٍsounding clayminمنمِّنْfromḥama-inحمإحَمَإٍblack mudmasnūninمسنونمَّسْنُونٍaltered.Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered,We have created man from sounding clay, made of aging mud[10].And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape;
27 وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِwal-jānaوالجانوَٱلْجَآنَّAnd the jinnkhalaqnāhuخلقناهخَلَقْنَٰهُWe created itminمنمِنbeforeqabluقبلقَبْلُbeforeminمنمِنfromnāriنارنَّارِfirel-samūmiالسمومٱلسَّمُومِscorching.And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire.And the jinn[11] We created before that, from smokeless fire.And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind.
28 وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن صَلْصَٰلٖ مِّنْ حَمَإٖ مَّسْنُونٖwa-idhوإذوَإِذْAnd whenqālaقالقَالَyour Lord saidrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lord saidlil'malāikatiللملائكةلِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِto the Angels,innīإنيإِنِّى"Indeed, Ikhāliqunخالقخَٰلِقٌۢ(will) createbasharanبشرابَشَرًاa human beingminمنمِّن(out) ofṣalṣālinصلصالصَلْصَٰلٍclayminمنمِّنْfromḥama-inحمإحَمَإٍblack mudmasnūninمسنونمَّسْنُونٍaltered.And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered,And [remember] when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being from sounding clay, made of aging mud.And [mention, O Muḥammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud.Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape;
29 فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُ سَٰجِدِينَfa-idhāفإذافَإِذَاSo, whensawwaytuhuسويتهسَوَّيْتُهُI have fashioned himwanafakhtuونفختوَنَفَخْتُand [I] breathedfīhiفيهفِيهِinto himminمنمِنofrūḥīروحيرُّوحِىMy spirit,faqaʿūفقعوافَقَعُواْthen fall downlahuلهلَهُto himsājidīnaساجدينسَٰجِدِينَprostrating."So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him.When I have shaped him and breathed into him of My spirit[12], then fall down before him in prostration.”And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul,[675] then fall down to him in prostration.""When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him."
30 فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَfasajadaفسجدفَسَجَدَSo prostratedl-malāikatuالملائكةٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُthe Angelskulluhumكلهمكُلُّهُمْall of themajmaʿūnaأجمعونأَجْمَعُونَtogether,So the angels fell prostrate, all of them togetherThereupon, all of the angels fell down in prostration,So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely,So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:
31 إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَillāإلاإِلَّآExceptib'līsaإبليسإِبْلِيسَIblis.abāأبىأَبَىٰٓHe refusedanأنأَنtoyakūnaيكونيَكُونَbemaʿaمعمَعَwithl-sājidīnaالساجدينٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrated.Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate.except for Iblīs, who refused to be with those who prostrated[13].Except Iblees;[676] he refused to be with those who prostrated.Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.
32 قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,yāib'līsuيا إبليسيَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ"O Iblis!مامَاWhatlakaلكلَكَ(is) for youallāألاأَلَّاthat nottakūnaتكونتَكُونَyou aremaʿaمعمَعَwithl-sājidīnaالساجدينٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrated?"He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate?Allah said, “O Iblīs, what is the matter with you that you were not with those who prostrated?”[Allāh] said, "O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?"(Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?"
33 قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَٰلٖ مِّنْ حَمَإٖ مَّسْنُونٖqālaقالقَالَHe said,lamلملَمْ"I am notakunأكنأَكُن"I am notli-asjudaلأسجدلِّأَسْجُدَ(one) to prostratelibasharinلبشرلِبَشَرٍto a humankhalaqtahuخلقتهخَلَقْتَهُwhom You created,minمنمِن(out) ofṣalṣālinصلصالصَلْصَٰلٍclayminمنمِّنْfromḥama-inحمإحَمَإٍblack mudmasnūninمسنونمَّسْنُونٍaltered."He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered!He said, “I am not such to prostrate before a human whom You created from sounding clay, made of aging mud.[14]He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud."(Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape."
34 قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمَqālaقالقَالَHe said,fa-ukh'rujفاخرجفَٱخْرُجْ"Then get outmin'hāمنهامِنْهَاof it,fa-innakaفإنكفَإِنَّكَfor indeed, yourajīmunرجيمرَجِيمٌ(are) expelled.He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast.He said, “Then get out of here[15], for you are accursed,[Allāh] said, "Then depart from it,[677] for indeed, you are expelled.(Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed.
35 وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,ʿalaykaعليكعَلَيْكَupon youl-laʿnataاللعنةٱللَّعْنَةَ(will be) the curseilāإلىإِلَىٰtillyawmiيوميَوْمِ(the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) [the] Judgment."And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment.and the curse will be upon you until the Day of Judgment.”And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense.""And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment."
36 قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,rabbiربرَبِّ"O my Lord!fa-anẓir'nīفأنظرنيفَأَنظِرْنِىٓThen give me respiteilāإلىإِلَىٰtillyawmiيوميَوْمِ(the) Dayyub'ʿathūnaيبعثونيُبْعَثُونَthey are raised."He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised.Iblīs said, “My Lord, then grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected.”He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."
37 قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,fa-innakaفإنكفَإِنَّكَ"Then indeed you,minaمنمِنَ(are) ofl-munẓarīnaالمنظرينٱلْمُنظَرِينَthe ones given respite.He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprievedAllah said, “You are of those who are granted respite[16],[Allāh] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved(Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee
38 إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِilāإلىإِلَىٰTillyawmiيوميَوْمِthe Dayl-waqtiالوقتٱلْوَقْتِ(of) the timel-maʿlūmiالمعلومٱلْمَعْلُومِwell-known."Till the Day of appointed time.until the Day of the Appointed Time[17].”Until the Day of the time well-known.""Till the Day of the Time appointed."
39 قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,rabbiربرَبِّ"My Lord!bimāبمابِمَآBecauseaghwaytanīأغويتنيأَغْوَيْتَنِىYou misled me,la-uzayyinannaلأزيننلَأُزَيِّنَنَّsurely, I will make (evil) fair-seeminglahumلهملَهُمْto themفيفِىinl-arḍiالأرضٱلْأَرْضِthe earthwala-ugh'wiyannahumولأغوينهموَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْand I will mislead themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَallHe said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one,He said, “My Lord, since You have sent me astray[18], I will surely make [sins] alluring to them on earth and mislead them all,[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them [i.e., mankind] on earth, and I will mislead them all(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,-
40 إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَillāإلاإِلَّاExcept,ʿibādakaعبادكعِبَادَكَYour slavesmin'humuمنهممِنْهُمُamong theml-mukh'laṣīnaالمخلصينٱلْمُخْلَصِينَthe ones who are sincere."Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves.except for Your chosen slaves among them.”Except, among them, Your chosen servants.""Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)."
41 قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌqālaقالقَالَHe said,hādhāهذاهَٰذَا"Thisṣirāṭunصراطصِرَٰطٌ(is) the wayʿalayyaعليعَلَىَّto Memus'taqīmunمستقيممُسْتَقِيمٌstraight.He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me:Allah said, “This is a straight path leading to Me.[Allāh] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight.(Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me.
42 إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,ʿibādīعباديعِبَادِىMy slaves,laysaليسلَيْسَnotlakaلكلَكَyou haveʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْover themsul'ṭānunسلطانسُلْطَٰنٌany authority,illāإلاإِلَّاexceptmaniمنمَنِthose whoittabaʿakaاتبعكٱتَّبَعَكَfollow you,minaمنمِنَofl-ghāwīnaالغاوينٱلْغَاوِينَthe ones who go astray."Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee,You will have no authority over My slaves, except the deviants who follow you.Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators."For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee."
43 وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,jahannamaجهنمجَهَنَّمَHelllamawʿiduhumلموعدهملَمَوْعِدُهُمْ(is) surely the promised place for themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَall.And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place.And Hell is certainly the promised place for them, all together.And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all!
44 لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٖ لِّكُلِّ بَابٖ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءَ مَّقْسُومٌlahāلهالَهَاFor itsabʿatuسبعةسَبْعَةُ(are) sevenabwābinأبوابأَبْوَٰبٍgates,likulliلكللِّكُلِّfor eachbābinباببَابٍgatemin'humمنهممِّنْهُمْamong themjuz'onجزءجُزْءٌ(is) a portionmaqsūmunمقسوممَّقْسُومٌassigned.It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion.It has seven gates[19]; each gate will have its allotted share of them.”It has seven gates; for every gate is of them [i.e., Satan's followers] a portion designated."To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.
45 إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,l-mutaqīnaالمتقينٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousفيفِى(will be) injannātinجناتجَنَّٰتٍGardenswaʿuyūninوعيونوَعُيُونٍand water springs.Lo! those who ward off (evil) are among gardens and watersprings.The righteous will be in gardens and springs.Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs,The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water).
46 ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَud'khulūhāادخلوهاٱدْخُلُوهَا"Enter itbisalāminبسلامبِسَلَٰمٍin peace,āminīnaآمنينءَامِنِينَsecure."(And it is said unto them): Enter them in peace, secure.“Enter in peace and safety[20]!”[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."(Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security."
47 وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَwanazaʿnāونزعناوَنَزَعْنَاAnd We (will) removeمامَاwhatفيفِى(is) inṣudūrihimصدورهمصُدُورِهِمtheir breastsminمنمِّنْofghillinغلغِلٍّrancorikh'wānanإخواناإِخْوَٰنًا(they will be) brothersʿalāعلىعَلَىٰonsururinسررسُرُرٍthronesmutaqābilīnaمتقابلينمُّتَقَٰبِلِينَfacing each other.And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. As brethren, face to face, (they rest) on couches raised.We will remove all ill feelings from their hearts[21]; like brothers, seated on couches facing one another.And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment,[678] [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).
48 لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبَ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَلالَاNotyamassuhumيمسهميَمَسُّهُمْwill touch themfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinnaṣabunنصبنَصَبٌfatigue,wamāوماوَمَاand nothumهمهُمtheymin'hāمنهامِّنْهَاfrom itbimukh'rajīnaبمخرجينبِمُخْرَجِينَwill be removed.Toil cometh not unto them there, nor will they be expelled from thence.No fatigue will ever touch them therein[22], nor will they ever be made to leave.No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.
49 ۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُnabbiنبئنَبِّئْInformʿibādīعباديعِبَادِىٓMy slavesannīأنيأَنِّىٓthat I,anāأناأَنَاI aml-ghafūruالغفورٱلْغَفُورُthe Oft-Forgiving,l-raḥīmuالرحيمٱلرَّحِيمُthe Most Merciful.Announce, (O Muhammad) unto My slaves that verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful,Inform My slaves that I am indeed the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful,[O Muḥammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful,Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;
50 وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatʿadhābīعذابيعَذَابِىMy punishment,huwaهوهُوَitl-ʿadhābuالعذابٱلْعَذَابُ(is) the punishmentl-alīmuالأليمٱلْأَلِيمُthe most painful.And that My doom is the dolorous doom.and that My punishment is the most painful punishment.And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty.
51 وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَwanabbi'humونبئهموَنَبِّئْهُمْAnd inform themʿanعنعَنaboutḍayfiضيفضَيْفِ(the) guestsib'rāhīmaإبراهيمإِبْرَٰهِيمَ(of) Ibrahim,And tell them of Abraham's guests,And inform them about the guests of Abraham.And inform them about the guests of Abraham,Tell them about the guests of Abraham.
52 إِذْ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَidhإذإِذْWhendakhalūدخلوادَخَلُواْthey enteredʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِupon himfaqālūفقالوافَقَالُواْand said,salāmanسلاماسَلَٰمًا"Peace."qālaقالقَالَHe said,innāإناإِنَّا"Indeed, weminkumمنكممِنكُمْ(are) of youwajilūnaوجلونوَجِلُونَafraid."(How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you.When they entered upon him and said, “Peace!” He said, “We are afraid of you[23].”When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful [i.e., apprehensive] of you."When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!"
53 قَالُواْ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖqālūقالواقَالُواْThey said,لالَا"(Do) nottawjalتوجلتَوْجَلْbe afraid,innāإناإِنَّاindeed, wenubashirukaنبشركنُبَشِّرُكَ[we] bring glad tidings to youbighulāminبغلامبِغُلَٰمٍof a boyʿalīminعليمعَلِيمٍlearned."They said: Be not afraid! Lo! we bring thee good tidings of a boy possessing wisdom.They said, “Do not be afraid; We give you glad tidings of a knowledgeable boy[24].”[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy."They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom."
54 قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,abashartumūnīأبشرتمونيأَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى"Do you give me glad tidingsʿalāعلىعَلَىٰٓ"Do you give me glad tidingsanأنأَنalthoughmassaniyaمسنيمَّسَّنِىَhas overtaken mel-kibaruالكبرٱلْكِبَرُold age?fabimaفبمفَبِمَThen about whattubashirūnaتبشرونتُبَشِّرُونَyou give glad tidings?"He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me? Of what then can ye bring good tidings?He said, “Do you give me glad tidings despite my old age? What glad tidings are you giving me?”He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?"He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?"
55 قَالُواْ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَqālūقالواقَالُواْThey said,basharnākaبشرناكبَشَّرْنَٰكَ"We give you glad tidingsbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّin truth,falāفلافَلَاso (do) nottakunتكنتَكُنbeminaمنمِّنَofl-qāniṭīnaالقانطينٱلْقَٰنِطِينَthe despairing."They said: We bring thee good tidings in truth. So be not thou of the despairing.They said, “We have given you glad tidings in truth, so do not be of those who despair[25].”They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing."They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!"
56 قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,wamanومنوَمَن"And whoyaqnaṭuيقنطيَقْنَطُdespairsminمنمِنofraḥmatiرحمةرَّحْمَةِ(the) Mercyrabbihiربهرَبِّهِۦٓ(of) his Lordillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-ḍālūnaالضالونٱلضَّآلُّونَthose who are astray."He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray?He said, “Who would despair of his Lord’s mercy except those who are misguided[26]?”He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?"He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?"
57 قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,famāفمافَمَا"Then whatkhaṭbukumخطبكمخَطْبُكُمْ(is) your business,ayyuhāأيهاأَيُّهَاO messengers?"l-mur'salūnaالمرسلونٱلْمُرْسَلُونَO messengers?"He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)?He said, “So, what is your mission, O messengers?”[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?"
58 قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٖ مُّجْرِمِينَqālūقالواقَالُوٓاْThey said,innāإناإِنَّآ"Indeed, weur'sil'nāأرسلناأُرْسِلْنَآ[we] have been sentilāإلىإِلَىٰtoqawminقومقَوْمٍa people -muj'rimīnaمجرمينمُّجْرِمِينَcriminals,They said: We have been sent unto a guilty folk,They said, “We have been sent to a wicked people[27],They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin,
59 إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَillāإلاإِلَّآExceptālaآلءَالَthe familylūṭinلوطلُوطٍof Lut;innāإناإِنَّاindeed, welamunajjūhumلمنجوهملَمُنَجُّوهُمْsurely will save themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَall(All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one,except the household of Lot; we will surely save them all,Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all"Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All -
60 إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَillāإلاإِلَّاExceptim'ra-atahuامرأتهٱمْرَأَتَهُhis wife."qaddarnāقدرناقَدَّرْنَآWe have decreedinnahāإنهاإِنَّهَاthat shelaminaلمنلَمِنَ(is) surely ofl-ghābirīnaالغابرينٱلْغَٰبِرِينَthose who remain behind.Except his wife, of whom We had decreed that she should be of those who stay behind.except his wife[28]; We have decreed that she will be among those who stay behind.”Except his wife." We [i.e., Allāh] decreed that she is of those who remain behind.[679]"Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind."
61 فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَfalammāفلمافَلَمَّاAnd whenjāaجاءجَآءَcameālaآلءَالَ(to the) familylūṭinلوطلُوطٍ(of) Lutl-mur'salūnaالمرسلونٱلْمُرْسَلُونَthe messengers,And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot,When the messengers came to the household of Lot[29],And when the messengers came to the family of Lot,At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut,
62 قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمَ مُّنكَرُونَqālaقالقَالَHe said,innakumإنكمإِنَّكُمْ"Indeed, youqawmunقومقَوْمٌ(are) a peoplemunkarūnaمنكرونمُّنكَرُونَunknown."He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me).he said, “You are unfamiliar people.”He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown."He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk."
63 قَالُواْ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَqālūقالواقَالُواْThey said,balبلبَلْ"Nay,ji'nākaجئناكجِئْنَٰكَwe have come to youbimāبمابِمَاwith whatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey werefīhiفيهفِيهِin ityamtarūnaيمترونيَمْتَرُونَdisputing,They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing,They said, “We have come to you with that [punishment][30] which they have doubted.They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt.
64 وَأَتَيْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَwa-ataynākaوأتيناكوَأَتَيْنَٰكَAnd we have come to youbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّwith the truth,wa-innāوإناوَإِنَّاand indeed, welaṣādiqūnaلصادقونلَصَٰدِقُونَsurely (are) truthful.And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers.We have come to you with the truth, and we are certainly truthful.And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful."We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth.
65 فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدَ وَٱمْضُواْ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَfa-asriفأسرفَأَسْرِSo travelbi-ahlikaبأهلكبِأَهْلِكَwith your familybiqiṭ'ʿinبقطعبِقِطْعٍin a portionminaمنمِّنَofal-layliالليلٱلَّيْلِthe nightwa-ittabiʿواتبعوَٱتَّبِعْand followadbārahumأدبارهمأَدْبَٰرَهُمْtheir backs,walāولاوَلَاand notyaltafitيلتفتيَلْتَفِتْlet look backminkumمنكممِنكُمْamong youaḥadunأحدأَحَدٌanyone,wa-im'ḍūوامضواوَٱمْضُواْand go onḥaythuحيثحَيْثُwheretu'marūnaتؤمرونتُؤْمَرُونَyou are ordered."So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded.So travel with your household in the dark of night and go behind them; none of you should look back[31], and keep going to where you are commanded.”So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded.""Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered."
66 وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعَ مُّصْبِحِينَwaqaḍaynāوقضيناوَقَضَيْنَآAnd We conveyedilayhiإليهإِلَيْهِto himdhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَ[that]l-amraالأمرٱلْأَمْرَthe matterannaأنأَنَّthatdābiraدابردَابِرَ(the) roothāulāiهؤلاءهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ(of) thesemaqṭūʿunمقطوعمَقْطُوعٌwould be cut offmuṣ'biḥīnaمصبحينمُّصْبِحِينَ(by) early morning.And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn.We conveyed this decree to him that these [people] will be exterminated by early morning.”And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning.And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning.
67 وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَwajāaوجاءوَجَآءَAnd cameahluأهلأَهْلُ(the) peoplel-madīnatiالمدينةٱلْمَدِينَةِ(of) the city,yastabshirūnaيستبشرونيَسْتَبْشِرُونَrejoicing.And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals).The people of the city came [to Lot] rejoicing[32].And the people of the city came rejoicing.[680]The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men).
68 قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِqālaقالقَالَHe said,innaإنإِنَّ"Indeed,hāulāiهؤلاءهَٰٓؤُلَآءِtheseḍayfīضيفيضَيْفِى(are) my guests,falāفلافَلَاso (do) nottafḍaḥūniتفضحونتَفْضَحُونِshame me.He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not!Lot said, “These are my guests, so do not bring shame on me.[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not:
69 وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِwa-ittaqūواتقواوَٱتَّقُواْAnd fearl-lahaاللهٱللَّهَAllah,walāولاوَلَاand (do) nottukh'zūniتخزونتُخْزُونِdisgrace me."And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not!Fear Allah and do not disgrace me.”And fear Allāh and do not disgrace me.""But fear Allah, and shame me not."
70 قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَqālūقالواقَالُوٓاْThey said,awalamأولمأَوَلَمْ"Did notnanhakaننهكنَنْهَكَwe forbid youʿaniعنعَنِfroml-ʿālamīnaالعالمينٱلْعَٰلَمِينَthe world?"They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone?They said, “Did we not forbid you from [protecting] people?”They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?"
71 قَالَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَqālaقالقَالَHe said,hāulāiهؤلاءهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ"Thesebanātīبناتيبَنَاتِىٓ(are) my daughtersinإنإِنifkuntumكنتمكُنتُمْyou would befāʿilīnaفاعلينفَٰعِلِينَdoers."He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so).He said, “These are my daughters [to marry], if you must[33].”[Lot] said, "These are my daughters[681] - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)."
72 لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَlaʿamrukaلعمركلَعَمْرُكَBy your lifeinnahumإنهمإِنَّهُمْindeed, theylafīلفيلَفِىwere insakratihimسكرتهمسَكْرَتِهِمْtheir intoxication,yaʿmahūnaيعمهونيَعْمَهُونَwandering blindly.By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death.By your life [O prophet], they were wandering blindly in their intoxication [of lust][34].By your life, [O Muḥammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro.
73 فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَfa-akhadhathumuفأخذتهمفَأَخَذَتْهُمُSo, seized theml-ṣayḥatuالصيحةٱلصَّيْحَةُthe awful crymush'riqīnaمشرقينمُشْرِقِينَat sunrise.Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise.So they were seized by the blast at sunrise,So the shriek[682] seized them at sunrise.But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning,
74 فَجَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍfajaʿalnāفجعلنافَجَعَلْنَاAnd We madeʿāliyahāعاليهاعَٰلِيَهَاits highest (part)sāfilahāسافلهاسَافِلَهَاits lowest,wa-amṭarnāوأمطرناوَأَمْطَرْنَاand We rainedʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْupon themḥijāratanحجارةحِجَارَةًstonesminمنمِّنofsijjīlinسجيلسِجِّيلٍbaked clay.And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay.and We turned their cities upside down[35] and rained down on them stones of baked clay.And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay.
75 إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,فيفِىindhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatlaāyātinلآياتلَءَايَٰتٍ(are) the Signslil'mutawassimīnaللمتوسمينلِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَfor those who discern.Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs.Indeed, there are signs in this for those who discern[36].Indeed in that are signs for those who discern.Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand.
76 وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍwa-innahāوإنهاوَإِنَّهَاAnd indeed, itlabisabīlinلبسبيللَبِسَبِيلٍ(is) on a roadmuqīminمقيممُّقِيمٍestablished.And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced.And their place is located by a known route[37].And indeed, they [i.e., those cities] are [situated] on an established road.And the (cities were) right on the high-road.
77 إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,فيفِىindhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatlaāyatanلآيةلَءَايَةًsurely (is) a Signlil'mu'minīnaللمؤمنينلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believers.Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers.Indeed, there are signs in this for the believers.Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed.
78 وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَwa-inوإنوَإِنAnd werekānaكانكَانَAnd wereaṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsl-aykatiالأيكةٱلْأَيْكَةِ(of) the woodlaẓālimīnaلظالمينلَظَٰلِمِينَsurely wrongdoers.And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers.And the people of the Forest[38] were wrongdoers.And the companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] were [also] wrongdoers,And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers;
79 فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖfa-intaqamnāفانتقمنافَٱنتَقَمْنَاSo We took retributionmin'humمنهممِنْهُمْfrom them,wa-innahumāوإنهماوَإِنَّهُمَاand indeed, they bothlabi-imāminلبإماملَبِإِمَامٍ(were) on a highwaymubīninمبينمُّبِينٍclear.So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see.So We punished them in retribution, and both [places][39] are by a clear highway.So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway.So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see.
80 وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlykadhabaكذبكَذَّبَdeniedaṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(the) companionsl-ḥij'riالحجرٱلْحِجْرِ(of) the Rocky Tract,l-mur'salīnaالمرسلينٱلْمُرْسَلِينَthe Messengers.And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers.Surely the people of Al-Hijr[40] also rejected the messengers.And certainly did the companions of al-Ḥijr[683] [i.e., the Thamūd] deny the messengers.The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers:
81 وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَwaātaynāhumوآتيناهموَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْAnd We gave themāyātināآياتناءَايَٰتِنَاOur Signs,fakānūفكانوافَكَانُواْbut they wereʿanhāعنهاعَنْهَاfrom themmuʿ'riḍīnaمعرضينمُعْرِضِينَturning away.And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them.We gave them Our signs, but they kept turning away from them.And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them.
82 وَكَانُواْ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَwakānūوكانواوَكَانُواْAnd they used (to)yanḥitūnaينحتونيَنْحِتُونَcarveminaمنمِنَfroml-jibāliالجبالٱلْجِبَالِthe mountains,buyūtanبيوتابُيُوتًاhouses,āminīnaآمنينءَامِنِينَsecure.And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure.They carved houses in the mountains, feeling secure[41].And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure.Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure.
83 فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَfa-akhadhathumuفأخذتهمفَأَخَذَتْهُمُBut seized theml-ṣayḥatuالصيحةٱلصَّيْحَةُthe awful crymuṣ'biḥīnaمصبحينمُصْبِحِينَ(at) early morning,But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour,So they were seized by the blast early in the morning.But the shriek seized them at early morning,But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning,
84 فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَfamāفمافَمَآAnd notaghnāأغنىأَغْنَىٰavailedʿanhumعنهمعَنْهُمthemمامَّاwhatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey used (to)yaksibūnaيكسبونيَكْسِبُونَearn.And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not.Nothing of what they earned was of any avail to them.So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn.And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)!
85 وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأٓتِيَةَۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَwamāوماوَمَاAnd notkhalaqnāخلقناخَلَقْنَاWe createdl-samāwātiالسماواتٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavenswal-arḍaوالأرضوَٱلْأَرْضَand the earthwamāوماوَمَاand whateverbaynahumāبينهمابَيْنَهُمَآ(is) between themillāإلاإِلَّاexceptbil-ḥaqiبالحقبِٱلْحَقِّin truth.wa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,l-sāʿataالساعةٱلسَّاعَةَthe Hourlaātiyatunلآتيةلَءَاتِيَةٌ(is) surely coming.fa-iṣ'faḥiفاصفحفَٱصْفَحِSo overlookl-ṣafḥaالصفحٱلصَّفْحَ(with) forgivenessl-jamīlaالجميلٱلْجَمِيلَgracious.We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness.We have not created the heavens and earth and all that is between them except for a true purpose. The Hour is certainly coming, so bear with them graciously[42].And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness.We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness.
86 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lord,huwaهوهُوَHel-khalāquالخلاقٱلْخَلَّٰقُ(is) the Creatorl-ʿalīmuالعليمٱلْعَلِيمُthe All-Knower.Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator.Indeed, your Lord is the Absolute Creator, the All-Knowing.Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator.For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things.
87 وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ سَبْعٗا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِي وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainly,ātaynākaآتيناكءَاتَيْنَٰكَWe have given yousabʿanسبعاسَبْعًاsevenminaمنمِّنَofl-mathānīالمثانيٱلْمَثَانِىthe oft-repeatedwal-qur'ānaوالقرآنوَٱلْقُرْءَانَand the Quranl-ʿaẓīmaالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمَGreat.We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an.We have surely given you the seven oft-repeated verses[43] and the great Qur’an.And We have certainly given you, [O Muḥammad], seven of the often repeated [verses][684] and the great Qur’ān.And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an.
88 لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجٗا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَلالَا(Do) nottamuddannaتمدنتَمُدَّنَّextendʿaynaykaعينيكعَيْنَيْكَyour eyesilāإلىإِلَىٰtowardsمامَاwhatmattaʿnāمتعنامَتَّعْنَاWe have bestowedbihiبهبِهِۦٓwith itazwājanأزواجاأَزْوَٰجًا(to) categoriesmin'humمنهممِّنْهُمْof themwalāولاوَلَاand (do) nottaḥzanتحزنتَحْزَنْgrieveʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْover them.wa-ikh'fiḍواخفضوَٱخْفِضْAnd lowerjanāḥakaجناحكجَنَاحَكَyour winglil'mu'minīnaللمؤمنينلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَto the believers.Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers.Do not look longingly at the pleasures We have given certain classes[44] of them[45], nor grieve over them[46], but lower your wing [in humility] to the believers[47].Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of them [i.e., the disbelievers], and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to the believers.Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers.
89 وَقُلْ إِنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُwaqulوقلوَقُلْAnd say,innīإنيإِنِّىٓ"Indeed, Ianāأناأَنَا[I] aml-nadhīruالنذيرٱلنَّذِيرُa warnerl-mubīnuالمبينٱلْمُبِينُclear."And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner,And say, “I am indeed a clear warner.” –And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" -And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"-
90 كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَkamāكماكَمَآAsanzalnāأنزلناأَنزَلْنَاWe sent downʿalāعلىعَلَىonl-muq'tasimīnaالمقتسمينٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَthose who divided.Such as We send down for those who make division,just as We sent down [punishment] upon those who divided [their religion][48],Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators[685](Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),-
91 ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُواْ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَThose whojaʿalūجعلواجَعَلُواْhave madel-qur'ānaالقرآنٱلْقُرْءَانَthe Quranʿiḍīnaعضينعِضِينَ(in) parts.Those who break the Qur'an into parts.those who split the Qur’an into different portions[49].Who have made the Qur’ān into portions.[686](So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please).
92 فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَfawarabbikaفوربكفَوَرَبِّكَSo by your Lord,lanasalannahumلنسألنهملَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْsurely We will question themajmaʿīnaأجمعينأَجْمَعِينَallThem, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one,By your Lord, We will surely question them allSo by your Lord, We will surely question them allTherefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account,
93 عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَʿammāعماعَمَّاAbout whatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey used (to)yaʿmalūnaيعملونيَعْمَلُونَdo.Of what they used to do.concerning what they used to do.About what they used to do.For all their deeds.
94 فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَfa-iṣ'daʿفاصدعفَٱصْدَعْSo proclaimbimāبمابِمَاof whattu'maruتؤمرتُؤْمَرُyou are orderedwa-aʿriḍوأعرضوَأَعْرِضْand turn awayʿaniعنعَنِfroml-mush'rikīnaالمشركينٱلْمُشْرِكِينَthe polytheists.So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters.Then proclaim what you are commanded, and turn away from those who associate partners with Allah.Then declare what you are commanded[687] and turn away from the polytheists.[688]Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah.
95 إِنَّا كَفَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَinnāإناإِنَّاIndeed, Wekafaynākaكفيناككَفَيْنَٰكَ[We] are sufficient for youl-mus'tahziīnaالمستهزئينٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ(against) the mockersLo! We defend thee from the scoffers,We will surely suffice you against the mockers[50],Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockersFor sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,-
96 ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَThose whoyajʿalūnaيجعلونيَجْعَلُونَset upmaʿaمعمَعَwithl-lahiاللهٱللَّهِAllahilāhanإلهاإِلَٰهًاgodākharaآخرءَاخَرَanother.fasawfaفسوففَسَوْفَBut soonyaʿlamūnaيعلمونيَعْلَمُونَthey will come to know.Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know.those who set up beside Allah another god; they will come to know.Who make [equal] with Allāh another deity. But they are going to know.Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know.
97 وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd verily,naʿlamuنعلمنَعْلَمُWe knowannakaأنكأَنَّكَthat [you]yaḍīquيضيقيَضِيقُ(is) straitenedṣadrukaصدركصَدْرُكَyour breastbimāبمابِمَاby whatyaqūlūnaيقولونيَقُولُونَthey say.Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say,We know that you are distressed by what they say.And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say.We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say.
98 فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَfasabbiḥفسبحفَسَبِّحْSo glorifybiḥamdiبحمدبِحَمْدِwith the praiserabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordwakunوكنوَكُنand beminaمنمِّنَofl-sājidīnaالساجدينٱلسَّٰجِدِينَthose who prostrate.But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him).So glorify your Lord with praise and be among those who prostrate [to Him][51],So exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him].But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration.
99 وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُwa-uʿ'budواعبدوَٱعْبُدْAnd worshiprabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordḥattāحتىحَتَّىٰuntilyatiyakaيأتيكيَأْتِيَكَcomes to youl-yaqīnuاليقينٱلْيَقِينُthe certainty.And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee.and worship your Lord until the certainty [of death] comes to you.And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty [i.e., death].And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain.
ﱁﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ
ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ
ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕﱖ ﱗ ﱘ
ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ
ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ
ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ
ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ
ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ
ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ
ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ
ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ
ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ
ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ
ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ
ﲿ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ
ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ
ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ
ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ
ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ
ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ
ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ
ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ
ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ
ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗﲘ ﲙ ﲚ
ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ
ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ
ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ
ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ
ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ
ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ
ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ
ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ
ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ
ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ
ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ
ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ
ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ
ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ
ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ
ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ
ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ
ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ
ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ
ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ
ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ
ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ
ﳁ ﳂﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ
ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ
ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ ﳒ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ
ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ
ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ
ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ
ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ
ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ
ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ
ﱿ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ
ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ
ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ
ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ
ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ
ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ
ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ
ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ
ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ
ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ
ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ
ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ
ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ

ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ
ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ
ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ
الر تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَقُرْآنٍ مُّبِينٍ ١ رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ
الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ كَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ ٢ ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا
وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ٣ وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا
مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ ٤ مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ
أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ ٥ وَقَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِي نُزِّلَ
عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ ٦ لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلَائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ
مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ ٧ مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوا إِذًا
مُّنظَرِينَ ٨ إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ ٩ وَلَقَدْ
أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ ١٠ وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن
رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ ١١ كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي
قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ ١٢ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ ١٣
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَظَلُّوا فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ ١٤ لَقَالُوا
إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ ١٥ وَلَقَدْ
جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ ١٦ وَحَفِظْنَاهَا
مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ ١٧ إِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ
شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ ١٨ وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ
وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ ١٩ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا
مَعَايِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَازِقِينَ ٢٠ وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا
خَزَائِنُهُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ٢١ وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيَاحَ
لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوهُ وَمَا أَنتُمْ لَهُ
بِخَازِنِينَ ٢٢ وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ ٢٣ وَلَقَدْ
عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ ٢٤
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ إِنَّهُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ ٢٥ وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ
مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ ٢٦ وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ
مِن نَّارِ السَّمُومِ ٢٧ وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن
صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ ٢٨ فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن
رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ ٢٩ فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
٣٠ إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ ٣١ قَالَ
يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ ٣٢ قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ
لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ ٣٣ قَالَ
فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ ٣٤ وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
٣٥ قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ٣٦ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ
الْمُنظَرِينَ ٣٧ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ ٣٨ قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي
لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٣٩
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ٤٠ قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
٤١ إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ
مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ ٤٢ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٤٣ لَهَا
سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ ٤٤ إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ٤٥ ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ آمِنِينَ ٤٦ وَنَزَعْنَا
مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ ٤٧
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ ٤٨ ۞
نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ ٤٩ وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ
الْعَذَابُ الْأَلِيمُ ٥٠ وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ٥١ إِذْ
دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ ٥٢ قَالُوا لَا
تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ ٥٣ قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ
الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ ٥٤ قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا
تَكُن مِّنَ الْقَانِطِينَ ٥٥ قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ
إِلَّا الضَّالُّونَ ٥٦ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ ٥٧
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ ٥٨ إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا
لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٥٩ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَا إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
٦٠ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ آلَ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ ٦١ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ
قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ ٦٢ قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
٦٣ وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ ٦٤ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ
بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُوا
حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ ٦٥ وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ الْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ
هَٰؤُلَاءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ ٦٦ وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
٦٧ قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ ٦٨ وَاتَّقُوا
اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ ٦٩ قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ ٧٠ قَالَ
هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ ٧١ لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
٧٢ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ ٧٣ فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ ٧٤ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ
لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ ٧٥ وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ ٧٦ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٧٧ وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ ٧٨ فَانتَقَمْنَا
مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ ٧٩ وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ
الْمُرْسَلِينَ ٨٠ وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ٨١
وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا آمِنِينَ ٨٢ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ
مُصْبِحِينَ ٨٣ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ ٨٤ وَمَا
خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ
لَآتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ ٨٥ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ
الْعَلِيمُ ٨٦ وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ
الْعَظِيمَ ٨٧ لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ
وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٨٨ وَقُلْ إِنِّي
أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ ٨٩ كَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ ٩٠ الَّذِينَ
جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ ٩١ فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
٩٢ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ٩٣ فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ
الْمُشْرِكِينَ ٩٤ إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ ٩٥ الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ
مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ٩٦ وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ
يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ٩٧ فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ
السَّاجِدِينَ ٩٨ وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ ٩٩
الٓرۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٖ مُّبِينٖ ۝١ رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ
ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ كَانُواْ مُسْلِمِينَ ۝٢ ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ
وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ۝٣ وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا
مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابَ مَّعْلُومَ ۝٤ مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ
أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ ۝٥ وَقَالُواْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ
ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونَ ۝٦ لَّوْمَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ ۝٧ مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا
مُّنظَرِينَ ۝٨ إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَٰفِظُونَ ۝٩ وَلَقَدْ
أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١٠ وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن
رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ۝١١ كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي
قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۝١٢ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١٣
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ ۝١٤ لَقَالُوٓاْ
إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمَ مَّسْحُورُونَ ۝١٥ وَلَقَدْ
جَعَلْنَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ ۝١٦ وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا
مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٍ ۝١٧ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ
شِهَابَ مُّبِينَ ۝١٨ وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٖ مَّوْزُونٖ ۝١٩ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا
مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَٰزِقِينَ ۝٢٠ وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا
خَزَآئِنُهُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعْلُومٖ ۝٢١ وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ
لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُ
بِخَٰزِنِينَ ۝٢٢ وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ ۝٢٣ وَلَقَدْ
عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ ۝٢٤
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْۚ إِنَّهُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمَ ۝٢٥ وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ
مِن صَلْصَٰلٖ مِّنْ حَمَإٖ مَّسْنُونٖ ۝٢٦ وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ
مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ ۝٢٧ وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن
صَلْصَٰلٖ مِّنْ حَمَإٖ مَّسْنُونٖ ۝٢٨ فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن
رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُ سَٰجِدِينَ ۝٢٩ فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
۝٣٠ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ ۝٣١ قَالَ
يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ ۝٣٢ قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ
لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَٰلٖ مِّنْ حَمَإٖ مَّسْنُونٖ ۝٣٣ قَالَ
فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمَ ۝٣٤ وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
۝٣٥ قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ۝٣٦ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ
ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ ۝٣٧ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ ۝٣٨ قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِي
لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ۝٣٩
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ۝٤٠ قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
۝٤١ إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ
مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ ۝٤٢ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ۝٤٣ لَهَا
سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٖ لِّكُلِّ بَابٖ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءَ مَّقْسُومٌ ۝٤٤ إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ ۝٤٥ ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ ۝٤٦ وَنَزَعْنَا
مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ ۝٤٧
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبَ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ ۝٤٨ نَبِّئْ
عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ۝٤٩ وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ
ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ ۝٥٠ وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۝٥١ إِذْ
دَخَلُواْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ ۝٥٢ قَالُواْ لَا
تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ ۝٥٣ قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ
ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ ۝٥٤ قَالُواْ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا
تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ ۝٥٥ قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ
إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ۝٥٦ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ۝٥٧
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٖ مُّجْرِمِينَ ۝٥٨ إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا
لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ۝٥٩ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
۝٦٠ فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ۝٦١ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ
قَوْمَ مُّنكَرُونَ ۝٦٢ قَالُواْ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
۝٦٣ وَأَتَيْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ ۝٦٤ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ
بِقِطْعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدَ وَٱمْضُواْ
حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ ۝٦٥ وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعَ مُّصْبِحِينَ ۝٦٦ وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
۝٦٧ قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ ۝٦٨ وَٱتَّقُواْ
ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ ۝٦٩ قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٧٠ قَالَ
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ ۝٧١ لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
۝٧٢ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ ۝٧٣ فَجَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ ۝٧٤ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ
لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ ۝٧٥ وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍ ۝٧٦ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝٧٧ وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ ۝٧٨ فَٱنتَقَمْنَا
مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ ۝٧٩ وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ۝٨٠ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ۝٨١
وَكَانُواْ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ ۝٨٢ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ
مُصْبِحِينَ ۝٨٣ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ ۝٨٤ وَمَا
خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ
لَأٓتِيَةَۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ ۝٨٥ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ
ٱلْعَلِيمُ ۝٨٦ وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ سَبْعٗا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِي وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ
ٱلْعَظِيمَ ۝٨٧ لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجٗا مِّنْهُمْ
وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝٨٨ وَقُلْ إِنِّيٓ
أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ ۝٨٩ كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ ۝٩٠ ٱلَّذِينَ
جَعَلُواْ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ ۝٩١ فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
۝٩٢ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ۝٩٣ فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ۝٩٤ إِنَّا كَفَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ ۝٩٥ ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ

ﱁﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ
ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ
ﱓ ﱔ ﱕﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ
ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ
ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ
ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ
ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ
ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ
ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ
ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ
ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ
ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ
ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ
ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ
ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ
ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ
ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ
ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ
ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ
ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ
ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ
ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ
ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ
ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ
ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ
ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ
ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ
ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ
ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ
ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ
ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ
ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ
ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ
ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ
ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ
ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ
ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ
ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ
ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ
ﳂﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ
ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ ﳒ ﳓ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ
ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ
ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ
ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ
ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ
ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ
ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ
ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ
ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ
ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ
ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ
ﲫ ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ
ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ
ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ
ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ
