ﮄ

The Inevitable Event

1	إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُidhāإذاإِذَاWhenwaqaʿatiوقعتوَقَعَتِoccursl-wāqiʿatuالواقعةٱلْوَاقِعَةُthe Event,When the event befalleth -When the Inevitable Event comes to pass,When the Occurrence occurs,When the Event inevitable cometh to pass,
2	لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌlaysaليسلَيْسَNotliwaqʿatihāلوقعتهالِوَقْعَتِهَاat its occurrencekādhibatunكاذبةكَاذِبَةٌa denialThere is no denying that it will befall -there will be none to deny its occurrence;There is, at its occurrence, no denial.Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming.
3	خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌkhāfiḍatunخافضةخَافِضَةٌBringing down,rāfiʿatunرافعةرَّافِعَةٌraising up,Abasing (some), exalting (others);it will bring some low and raise others up^[1].It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].^[1608](Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt;
4	إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗاidhāإذاإِذَاWhenrujjatiرجترُجَّتِwill be shakenl-arḍuالأرضٱلْأَرْضُthe earthrajjanرجارَجًّا(with) a shaking,When the earth is shaken with a shockWhen the earth is shaken violently,When the earth is shaken with convulsionWhen the earth shall be shaken to its depths,
5	وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗاwabussatiوبستوَبُسَّتِAnd will be crumbledl-jibāluالجبالٱلْجِبَالُthe mountainsbassanبسابَسًّا(with awful) crumbling.And the hills are ground to powderand the mountains crushed to pieces,And the mountains are broken down, crumblingAnd the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms,
6	فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗاfakānatفكانتفَكَانَتْSo they becomehabāanهباءهَبَآءًdust particlesmunbathanمنبثامُّنۢبَثًّاdispersing.So that they become a scattered dust,and turn to scattered dust,And become dust dispersing,Becoming dust scattered abroad,
7	وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗwakuntumوكنتموَكُنتُمْAnd you will becomeazwājanأزواجاأَزْوَٰجًاkindsthalāthatanثلاثةثَلَٰثَةًthree.And ye will be three kinds:then you are sorted into three groups:And you become [of] three kinds:And ye shall be sorted out into three classes.
8	فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِfa-aṣḥābuفأصحابفَأَصْحَٰبُThen (the) companionsl-maymanatiالميمنةٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ(of) the right,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-maymanatiالميمنةٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ(of) the right?(First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand?the people of the right – how blessed will be the people of the right^[2]!Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?^[1609]Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
9	وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِwa-aṣḥābuوأصحابوَأَصْحَٰبُAnd (the) companionsl-mashamatiالمشأمةٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ(of) the left,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-mashamatiالمشأمةٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ(of) the left?And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand?The people of the left – how miserable will be the people of the left^[3]!And the companions of the left - what are companions of the left?^[1610]And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
10	وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَwal-sābiqūnaوالسابقونوَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَAnd the foremostl-sābiqūnaالسابقونٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ(are) the foremost,And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race:And the forerunners [in faith] are the forerunners [in Paradise].And the forerunners, the forerunners^[1611] -And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).
11	أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَulāikaأولئكأُوْلَٰٓئِكَThosel-muqarabūnaالمقربونٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ(are) the nearest ones.Those are they who will be brought nighThey are the nearest ones [to Allah],Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]These will be those Nearest to Allah:
12	فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِfīفيفِىInjannātiجناتجَنَّٰتِGardensl-naʿīmiالنعيمٱلنَّعِيمِ(of) Pleasure,In gardens of delight;in Gardens of Bliss,In the Gardens of Pleasure,In Gardens of Bliss:
13	ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَthullatunثلةثُلَّةٌA companyminaمنمِّنَofl-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe former (people),A multitude of those of oldmany from the early generations,A [large] company of the former peoplesA number of people from those of old,
14	وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَwaqalīlunوقليلوَقَلِيلٌAnd a fewminaمنمِّنَofl-ākhirīnaالآخرينٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later (people),And a few of those of later time.and a few from the later generations.And a few of the later peoples,And a few from those of later times.
15	عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖʿalāعلىعَلَىٰOnsururinسررسُرُرٍthronesmawḍūnatinموضونةمَّوْضُونَةٍdecorated,On lined couches,[They will be seated] on jeweled couches,On thrones woven [with ornament],(They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones),
16	مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَmuttakiīnaمتكئينمُّتَّكِـِٔينَReclining,ʿalayhāعليهاعَلَيْهَاon themmutaqābilīnaمتقابلينمُتَقَٰبِلِينَfacing each other.Reclining therein face to face.reclining on them, facing one another.Reclining on them, facing each other.Reclining on them, facing each other.
17	يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَyaṭūfuيطوفيَطُوفُWill circulateʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْamong themwil'dānunولدانوِلْدَٰنٌboysmukhalladūnaمخلدونمُّخَلَّدُونَimmortal,There wait on them immortal youthsThey will be served by immortal youthsThere will circulate among them young boys made eternalRound about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness),
18	بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖbi-akwābinبأكواببِأَكْوَابٍWith vesselswa-abārīqaوأباريقوَأَبَارِيقَand jugswakasinوكأسوَكَأْسٍand a cupminمنمِّنfrommaʿīninمعينمَّعِينٍa flowing stream,With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure springwith cups, pitchers, and glasses [of wine] from a flowing spring,With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains:
19	لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَlāلالَّاNotyuṣaddaʿūnaيصدعونيُصَدَّعُونَthey will get headacheʿanhāعنهاعَنْهَاtherefromwalāولاوَلَاand notyunzifūnaينزفونيُنزِفُونَthey will get intoxicatedWherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness,which will neither cause any headache nor intoxication,No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication:
20	وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَwafākihatinوفاكهةوَفَٰكِهَةٍAnd fruitsmimmāممامِّمَّاof whatyatakhayyarūnaيتخيرونيَتَخَيَّرُونَthey select,And fruit that they preferalong with fruits of their choice,And fruit of what they selectAnd with fruits, any that they may select:
21	وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَwalaḥmiولحموَلَحْمِAnd (the) fleshṭayrinطيرطَيْرٍ(of) fowlsmimmāممامِّمَّاof whatyashtahūnaيشتهونيَشْتَهُونَthey desire.And flesh of fowls that they desire.and flesh of birds that they may desire.And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire.
22	وَحُورٌ عِينٞwaḥūrunوحوروَحُورٌAnd fair onesʿīnunعينعِينٌ(with) large eyes,And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes,And [they will have] maidens with wide gorgeous eyes,And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,-
23	كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِka-amthāliكأمثالكَأَمْثَٰلِLikel-lu'lu-iاللؤلؤٱللُّؤْلُؤِpearlsl-maknūniالمكنونٱلْمَكْنُونِwell-protected,Like unto hidden pearls,like pristine pearls,The likenesses of pearls well-protected,Like unto Pearls well-guarded.
24	جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَjazāanجزاءجَزَآءًۢA rewardbimāبمابِمَاfor whatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey used (to)yaʿmalūnaيعملونيَعْمَلُونَdo.Reward for what they used to do.as a reward for what they used to do.As reward for what they used to do.A Reward for the deeds of their past (life).
25	لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًاlāلالَاNotyasmaʿūnaيسمعونيَسْمَعُونَthey will hearfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinlaghwanلغوالَغْوًاvain talkwalāولاوَلَاand nottathīmanتأثيماتَأْثِيمًاsinful (speech),There hear they no vain speaking nor recriminationThey will not hear therein any idle talk or sinful speech,They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,-
26	إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗاillāإلاإِلَّاExceptqīlanقيلاقِيلًاa saying,salāmanسلاماسَلَٰمًا"Peace,salāmanسلاماسَلَٰمًاPeace."(Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace.except the words of peace, peace^[4].Only a saying [of] peace, peace.Only the saying, "Peace! Peace".
27	وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِwa-aṣḥābuوأصحابوَأَصْحَٰبُAnd (the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right?And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand?The people of the right – how blessed will be the people of the right!The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
28	فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖfīفيفِىAmongsid'rinسدرسِدْرٍlote treesmakhḍūdinمخضودمَّخْضُودٍthornless,Among thornless lote-trees[They will be] in the midst of thornless lote trees,[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed(They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns,
29	وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖwaṭalḥinوطلحوَطَلْحٍAnd banana treesmanḍūdinمنضودمَّنضُودٍlayered,And clustered plantains,and clusters of bananas,And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,-
30	وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖwaẓillinوظلوَظِلٍّAnd shademamdūdinممدودمَّمْدُودٍextended,And spreading shade,and extended shade,And shade extendedIn shade long-extended,
31	وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖwamāinوماءوَمَآءٍAnd watermaskūbinمسكوبمَّسْكُوبٍpoured forth,And water gushing,and flowing water,And water poured outBy water flowing constantly,
32	وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖwafākihatinوفاكهةوَفَٰكِهَةٍAnd fruitkathīratinكثيرةكَثِيرَةٍabundant,And fruit in plentyand abundant fruit –And fruit, abundant [and varied],And fruit in abundance.
33	لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖlāلالَّاNotmaqṭūʿatinمقطوعةمَقْطُوعَةٍlimitedwalāولاوَلَاand notmamnūʿatinممنوعةمَمْنُوعَةٍforbidden,Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden,neither ceasing nor restricted –Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden,
34	وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍwafurushinوفرشوَفُرُشٍAnd (on) couchesmarfūʿatinمرفوعةمَّرْفُوعَةٍraised.And raised couches;and elevated mattresses [on beds].And [upon] beds raised high.And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high.
35	إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗinnāإناإِنَّآIndeed, Weanshanāhunnaأنشأناهنأَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ[We] have produced theminshāanإنشاءإِنشَآءً(into) a creation,Lo! We have created them a (new) creationIndeed, We have perfectly created them [i.e., their spouses],Indeed, We have produced them [i.e., the women of Paradise] in a [new] creationWe have created (their Companions) of special creation.
36	فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًاfajaʿalnāhunnaفجعلناهنفَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّAnd We have made themabkāranأبكاراأَبْكَارًاvirgins,And made them virgins,and have made them virgins,And made them virgins,And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), -
37	عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗاʿurubanعرباعُرُبًاDevoted,atrābanأتراباأَتْرَابًاequals in age.Lovers, friends,loving and of equal age,Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,Beloved (by nature), equal in age,-
38	لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِli-aṣḥābiلأصحابلِّأَصْحَٰبِFor (the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right,For those on the right hand;for the people of the right,For the companions of the right [who are]For the Companions of the Right Hand.
39	ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَthullatunثلةثُلَّةٌA companyminaمنمِّنَofl-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe former people,A multitude of those of oldmany from the earlier generations,A company of the former peoplesA (goodly) number from those of old,
40	وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَwathullatunوثلةوَثُلَّةٌAnd a companyminaمنمِّنَofl-ākhirīnaالآخرينٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later people.And a multitude of those of later time.and many from the later generations.And a company of the later peoples.And a (goodly) number from those of later times.
41	وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِwa-aṣḥābuوأصحابوَأَصْحَٰبُAnd (the) companionsl-shimāliالشمالٱلشِّمَالِ(of) the left,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-shimāliالشمالٱلشِّمَالِ(of) the left?And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand?And the people of the left – how wretched will be the people of the left!And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
42	فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖfīفيفِىInsamūminسمومسَمُومٍscorching firewaḥamīminوحميموَحَمِيمٍand scalding water,In scorching wind and scalding water[They will be] in scorching wind and scalding water,[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water(They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water,
43	وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖwaẓillinوظلوَظِلٍّAnd a shademinمنمِّنofyaḥmūminيحموميَحْمُومٍblack smoke,And shadow of black smoke,in the shade of black smoke,And a shade of black smoke,And in the shades of Black Smoke:
44	لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍlāلالَّاNotbāridinباردبَارِدٍcoolwalāولاوَلَاand notkarīminكريمكَرِيمٍpleasant.Neither cool nor refreshing.neither cool nor refreshing.Neither cool nor beneficial.Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please:
45	إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَinnahumإنهمإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theykānūكانواكَانُواْwereqablaقبلقَبْلَbeforedhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatmut'rafīnaمترفينمُتْرَفِينَindulging in affluence.Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxuryIndeed, they used to be in luxuries before,Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury),
46	وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِwakānūوكانواوَكَانُواْAnd wereyuṣirrūnaيصرونيُصِرُّونَpersistingʿalāعلىعَلَىinl-ḥinthiالحنثٱلْحِنثِthe sinl-ʿaẓīmiالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمِthe great,And used to persist in the awful sin.and persisted in the gravest sin^[5].And they used to persist in the great violation,^[1612]And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme!
47	وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَwakānūوكانواوَكَانُواْAnd they used (to)yaqūlūnaيقولونيَقُولُونَsay,a-idhāأئذاأَئِذَا"Whenmit'nāمتنامِتْنَاwe diewakunnāوكناوَكُنَّاand becometurābanتراباتُرَابًاdustwaʿiẓāmanوعظاماوَعِظَٰمًاand bones,a-innāأإناأَءِنَّاwill welamabʿūthūnaلمبعوثونلَمَبْعُوثُونَsurely be resurrected?And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again,They used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, will we really be raised again?And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?-
48	أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَawaābāunāأوآباؤناأَوَءَابَآؤُنَاAnd also our fathersl-awalūnaالأولونٱلْأَوَّلُونَformer?And also our forefathers?And our forefathers as well?”And our forefathers [as well]?""(We) and our fathers of old?"
49	قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَqulقلقُلْSay,innaإنإِنَّ"Indeed,l-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe formerwal-ākhirīnaوالآخرينوَٱلْءَاخِرِينَand the later peopleSay (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later timeSay, [O Prophet], “Indeed, the former and later generationsSay, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, the former and later peoplesSay: "Yea, those of old and those of later times,
50	لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖlamajmūʿūnaلمجموعونلَمَجْمُوعُونَSurely, will be gatheredilāإلىإِلَىٰformīqātiميقاتمِيقَٰتِ(the) appointmentyawminيوميَوْمٍ(of) a Daymaʿlūminمعلوممَّعْلُومٍwell-known."Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day.will be gathered on a predetermined Day.Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day.""All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known.
51	ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَthummaثمثُمَّ"Theninnakumإنكمإِنَّكُمْindeed you,ayyuhāأيهاأَيُّهَاO those astray!l-ḍālūnaالضالونٱلضَّآلُّونَO those astray!l-mukadhibūnaالمكذبونٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَthe deniers,Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers,Then you, O misguided deniers,Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,"Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!-
52	لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖlaākilūnaلآكلونلَءَاكِلُونَWill surely eatminمنمِنfromshajarinشجرشَجَرٍ(the) treeminمنمِّنofzaqqūminزقومزَقُّومٍZaqqum.Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqumwill surely eat from the tree of zaqqūm^[6],Will be eating from trees of zaqqūm"Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum.
53	فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَfamāliūnaفمالئونفَمَالِـُٔونَThen will fillmin'hāمنهامِنْهَاwith itl-buṭūnaالبطونٱلْبُطُونَthe bellies,And will fill your bellies therewith;filling your bellies with it,And filling with it your bellies"Then will ye fill your insides therewith,
54	فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِfashāribūnaفشاربونفَشَٰرِبُونَAnd drinkʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِover itminaمنمِنَ[from]l-ḥamīmiالحميمٱلْحَمِيمِthe scalding water,And thereon ye will drink of boiling water,and drinking scalding water on top of it,And drinking on top of it from scalding water"And drink Boiling Water on top of it:
55	فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِfashāribūnaفشاربونفَشَٰرِبُونَAnd will drinkshur'baشربشُرْبَ(as) drinkingl-hīmiالهيمٱلْهِيمِ(of) the thirsty camels."Drinking even as the camel drinketh.drinking like thirsty camels do.”And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels."Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!"
56	هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِhādhāهذاهَٰذَاThisnuzuluhumنزلهمنُزُلُهُمْ(is) their hospitalityyawmaيوميَوْمَ(on the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) Judgment.This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment.This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment.That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital!
57	نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWekhalaqnākumخلقناكمخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ[We] created you,falawlāفلولافَلَوْلَاso why (do) nottuṣaddiqūnaتصدقونتُصَدِّقُونَyou admit the truth?We created you. Will ye then admit the truth?It is We Who created you; why do you not then believe [in resurrection]?We have created you, so why do you not believe?It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth?
58	أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَafara-aytumأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمDo you seemāمامَّاwhattum'nūnaتمنونتُمْنُونَyou emit?Have ye seen that which ye emit?Have you thought about the semen that you emit?Have you seen that which you emit?^[1613]Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,-
59	ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it youtakhluqūnahuتخلقونهتَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓwho create itamأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُ(are) Wel-khāliqūnaالخالقونٱلْخَٰلِقُونَthe Creators?Do ye create it or are We the Creator?Is it you who create it, or is it We Who are the Creators?Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators?
60	نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWeqaddarnāقدرناقَدَّرْنَا[We] have decreedbaynakumuبينكمبَيْنَكُمُamong youl-mawtaالموتٱلْمَوْتَthe deathwamāوماوَمَاand notnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWebimasbūqīnaبمسبوقينبِمَسْبُوقِينَ(are) outrun,We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun,We have ordained death among you, and nothing can overcome usWe have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdoneWe have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated
61	عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَʿalāعلىعَلَىٰٓInanأنأَنthatnubaddilaنبدلنُّبَدِّلَWe (will) changeamthālakumأمثالكمأَمْثَٰلَكُمْyour likeness[es]wanunshi-akumوننشئكموَنُنشِئَكُمْand produce youfīفيفِىinmāمامَاwhatlāلالَاnottaʿlamūnaتعلمونتَعْلَمُونَyou know.That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not.from transforming you and recreating you in forms that you do not know^[7].In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.^[1614]from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not.
62	وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyʿalim'tumuعلمتمعَلِمْتُمُyou knowl-nashataالنشأةٱلنَّشْأَةَthe creationl-ūlāالأولىٱلْأُولَىٰthe first,falawlāفلولافَلَوْلَاso why nottadhakkarūnaتذكرونتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heed?And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect?You are well aware of the first creation; why do you not then take heed?And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?
63	أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَafara-aytumأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمAnd do you seemāمامَّاwhattaḥruthūnaتحرثونتَحْرُثُونَyou sow?Have ye seen that which ye cultivate?Have you thought about what you sow?And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground?
64	ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it you (who)tazraʿūnahuتزرعونهتَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓcause it to growamأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُ(are) Wel-zāriʿūnaالزارعونٱلزَّٰرِعُونَthe Ones Who grow?Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer?Is it you who cause it to grow, or is it We Who make it grow?Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?
65	لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَlawلولَوْIfnashāuنشاءنَشَآءُWe willedlajaʿalnāhuلجعلناهلَجَعَلْنَٰهُWe (would) surely, make itḥuṭāmanحطاماحُطَٰمًاdebris,faẓaltumفظلتمفَظَلْتُمْthen you would remaintafakkahūnaتفكهونتَفَكَّهُونَwondering,If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim:If We willed, We could reduce your harvest to rubble, leaving you to wonder and lament,If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,^[1615]Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,
66	إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَinnāإناإِنَّا"Indeed, welamugh'ramūnaلمغرمونلَمُغْرَمُونَsurely are laden with debt,Lo! we are laden with debt!“We suffered loss,[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;(Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):
67	بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَbalبلبَلْNay,naḥnuنحننَحْنُwemaḥrūmūnaمحرومونمَحْرُومُونَ(are) deprived."Nay, but we are deprived!rather, we are deprived.”Rather, we have been deprived.""Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"
68	أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَafara-aytumuأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمُDo you seel-māaالماءٱلْمَآءَthe water,alladhīالذيٱلَّذِىwhichtashrabūnaتشربونتَشْرَبُونَyou drink?Have ye observed the water which ye drink?Have you thought about the water that you drink?And have you seen the water that you drink?See ye the water which ye drink?
69	ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it youanzaltumūhuأنزلتموهأَنزَلْتُمُوهُwho send it downminaمنمِنَfroml-muz'niالمزنٱلْمُزْنِthe rain clouds,amأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُWel-munzilūnaالمنزلونٱلْمُنزِلُونَ(are) the Ones to send?Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder?Is it you who bring it down from the clouds, or is it We Who bring it down?Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?
70	لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَlawلولَوْIfnashāuنشاءنَشَآءُWe willed,jaʿalnāhuجعلناهجَعَلْنَٰهُWe (could) make itujājanأجاجاأُجَاجًاsalty,falawlāفلولافَلَوْلَاthen why are you not grateful?tashkurūnaتشكرونتَشْكُرُونَthen why are you not grateful?If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks?If We willed, We could make it salty; will you not then give thanks?If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?
71	أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَafara-aytumuأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمُDo you seel-nāraالنارٱلنَّارَthe Fire,allatīالتيٱلَّتِىwhichtūrūnaتورونتُورُونَyou ignite?Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out;Have you thought about the fire that you kindle?And have you seen the fire that you ignite?See ye the Fire which ye kindle?
72	ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it youanshatumأنشأتمأَنشَأْتُمْwho producedshajaratahāشجرتهاشَجَرَتَهَآits treeamأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُWel-munshiūnaالمنشئونٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ(are) the Producers?Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower?Is it you who produced its trees^[8], or is it We Who produced it?Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?
73	نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWejaʿalnāhāجعلناهاجَعَلْنَٰهَاhave made ittadhkiratanتذكرةتَذْكِرَةًa reminderwamatāʿanومتاعاوَمَتَٰعًاand a provisionlil'muq'wīnaللمقوينلِّلْمُقْوِينَfor the wayfarers in the desert.We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness.We made it a reminder [of the Hellfire] and a benefit for the travelers^[9].We have made it a reminder^[1616] and provision for the travelers,^[1617]We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts.
74	فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِfasabbiḥفسبحفَسَبِّحْSo glorifybi-is'miباسمبِٱسْمِ(the) namerabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord,l-ʿaẓīmiالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمِthe Most Great.Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous.So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme!
75	۞ فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِfalāفلافَلَآBut nay,uq'simuأقسمأُقْسِمُI swearbimawāqiʿiبمواقعبِمَوَٰقِعِby settingl-nujūmiالنجومٱلنُّجُومِ(of) the stars,Nay, I swear by the places of the stars -I do swear^[10] by the positions of the stars –Then I swear by the setting of the stars,^[1618]Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,-
76	وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌwa-innahuوإنهوَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, itlaqasamunلقسملَقَسَمٌ(is) surely an oath,lawلولَّوْiftaʿlamūnaتعلمونتَعْلَمُونَyou know -ʿaẓīmunعظيمعَظِيمٌgreat,And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew -and this is indeed a great oath, if only you knew –And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,-
77	إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞinnahuإنهإِنَّهُۥIndeed, itlaqur'ānunلقرآنلَقُرْءَانٌ(is) surely, a Qurankarīmunكريمكَرِيمٌnoble,That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'anthat this is indeed a noble Qur’an,Indeed, it is a noble Qur’ān.That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable,
78	فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖfīفيفِىInkitābinكتابكِتَٰبٍa Bookmaknūninمكنونمَّكْنُونٍwell-guarded,In a Book kept hiddenin a well-preserved Record^[11],In a Register well-protected;^[1619].In Book well-guarded,
79	لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَlāلالَّاNoneyamassuhuيمسهيَمَسُّهُۥٓtouch itillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-muṭaharūnaالمطهرونٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَthe purified.Which none toucheth save the purified,that none can touch except the purified ones^[12] –None touch it except the purified [i.e., the angels].Which none shall touch but those who are clean:
80	تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَtanzīlunتنزيلتَنزِيلٌA Revelationminمنمِّنfromrabbiربرَّبِّ(the) Lordl-ʿālamīnaالعالمينٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds.A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
81	أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَafabihādhāأفبهذاأَفَبِهَٰذَاThen is it to thisl-ḥadīthiالحديثٱلْحَدِيثِstatementantumأنتمأَنتُمthat youmud'hinūnaمدهنونمُّدْهِنُونَ(are) indifferent?Is it this Statement that ye scorn,Do you take this discourse lightly,Then is it to this statement that you are indifferentIs it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem?
82	وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَwatajʿalūnaوتجعلونوَتَجْعَلُونَAnd you makeriz'qakumرزقكمرِزْقَكُمْyour provisionannakumأنكمأَنَّكُمْthat youtukadhibūnaتكذبونتُكَذِّبُونَdeny.And make denial thereof your livelihood?and instead [of thanking Allah] for the provision you are given, you show ingratitude?And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false?
83	فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَfalawlāفلولافَلَوْلَآThen why notidhāإذاإِذَاwhenbalaghatiبلغتبَلَغَتِit reachesl-ḥul'qūmaالحلقومٱلْحُلْقُومَthe throat,Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying)Then why [are you helpless] when the soul reaches the throat,Then why, when it [i.e., the soul at death] reaches the throatThen why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,-
84	وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَwa-antumوأنتموَأَنتُمْAnd youḥīna-idhinحينئذحِينَئِذٍ(at) that timetanẓurūnaتنظرونتَنظُرُونَlook on,And ye are at that moment lookingwhile you are looking on,And you are at that time looking on -And ye the while (sit) looking on,-
85	وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَwanaḥnuونحنوَنَحْنُAnd Weaqrabuأقربأَقْرَبُ(are) nearerilayhiإليهإِلَيْهِto himminkumمنكممِنكُمْthan youwalākinولكنوَلَٰكِنbutlāلالَّاyou (do) not see,tub'ṣirūnaتبصرونتُبْصِرُونَyou (do) not see,- And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not -when We are closer^[13] to him than you, but you do not see?And We [i.e., Our angels] are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,-
86	فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَfalawlāفلولافَلَوْلَآThen why not,inإنإِنifkuntumكنتمكُنتُمْyou areghayraغيرغَيْرَnotmadīnīnaمدينينمَدِينِينَto be recompensed,Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us),If you are not subject to retribution, then why do you notThen why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,-
87	تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَtarjiʿūnahāترجعونهاتَرْجِعُونَهَآBring it back,inإنإِنifkuntumكنتمكُنتُمْyou areṣādiqīnaصادقينصَٰدِقِينَtruthful.Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful?bring that [soul] back, if you are truthful?Bring it back,^[1620] if you should be truthful?Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)?
88	فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَfa-ammāفأمافَأَمَّآTheninإنإِنifkānaكانكَانَhe wasminaمنمِنَofl-muqarabīnaالمقربينٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَthose brought near,Thus if he is of those brought nigh,If that dying person is one of those who will be brought near to Allah,And if he [i.e., the deceased] was of those brought near [to Allāh],Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah,
89	فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖfarawḥunفروحفَرَوْحٌThen restwarayḥānunوريحانوَرَيْحَانٌand bountywajannatuوجنتوَجَنَّتُand a Gardennaʿīminنعيمنَعِيمٍ(of) Pleasure.Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight.then [he will have] comfort, fragrance^[14], and a Garden of Bliss.Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.(There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.
90	وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّآAndinإنإِنifkānaكانكَانَhe wasminمنمِنْofaṣḥābiأصحابأَصْحَٰبِ(the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right,And if he is of those on the right hand,If he is one of the people of the right,And if he was of the companions of the right,And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand,
91	فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِfasalāmunفسلامفَسَلَٰمٌThen, peacelakaلكلَّكَfor you;minمنمِنْ[from]aṣḥābiأصحابأَصْحَٰبِ(the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right.Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand.[He will be told], “Peace be to you, for being one of the people of the right.”Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."(For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand.
92	وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّآButinإنإِنifkānaكانكَانَhe wasminaمنمِنَofl-mukadhibīnaالمكذبينٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَthe deniers,l-ḍālīnaالضالينٱلضَّآلِّينَthe astray,But if he is of the rejecters, the erring,But if he is one of the misguided deniers,But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong,
93	فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖfanuzulunفنزلفَنُزُلٌThen, hospitalityminمنمِّنْofḥamīminحميمحَمِيمٍ(the) scalding water,Then the welcome will be boiling waterthen he will be welcomed with scalding water,Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding waterFor him is Entertainment with Boiling Water.
94	وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍwataṣliyatuوتصليةوَتَصْلِيَةُAnd burningjaḥīminجحيمجَحِيمٍ(in) Hellfire.And roasting at hell-fire.and he will burn in Blazing Fire.And burning in Hellfire.And burning in Hell-Fire.
95	إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,hādhāهذاهَٰذَاthislahuwaلهولَهُوَsurely, itḥaqquحقحَقُّ(is the) truthl-yaqīniاليقينٱلْيَقِينِcertain.Lo! this is certain truth.This is indeed the absolute truth.Indeed, this is the true certainty,Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly.
96	فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِfasabbiḥفسبحفَسَبِّحْSo glorifybi-is'miباسمبِٱسْمِ(the) namerabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord,l-ʿaẓīmiالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمِthe Most Great.Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous.So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great.So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme.

1	إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ
2	لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
3	خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ
4	إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا
5	وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا
6	فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُّنبَثًّا
7	وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً
8	فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
9	وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
10	وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ
11	أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
12	فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ
13	ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
14	وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ
15	عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ
16	مُّتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ
17	يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
18	بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ
19	لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
20	وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
21	وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
22	وَحُورٌ عِينٌ
23	كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ
24	جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
25	لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا
26	إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا
27	وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ
28	فِي سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ
29	وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ
30	وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ
31	وَمَاءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ
32	وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ
33	لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ
34	وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ
35	إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاءً
36	فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
37	عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا
38	لِّأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
39	ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
40	وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ
41	وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ
42	فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ
43	وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ
44	لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
45	إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
46	وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنثِ الْعَظِيمِ
47	وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
48	أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ
49	قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
50	لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
51	ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ
52	لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ
53	فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ
54	فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ
55	فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ
56	هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
57	نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
58	أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
59	أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ
60	نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
61	عَلَىٰ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
62	وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
63	أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
64	أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ
65	لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
66	إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
67	بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
68	أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ
69	أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ
70	لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
71	أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ
72	أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِئُونَ
73	نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
74	فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
75	۞ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
76	وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
77	إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ
78	فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ
79	لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
80	تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
81	أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
82	وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
83	فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ
84	وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ
85	وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
86	فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
87	تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
88	فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
89	فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ
90	وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
91	فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
92	وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ
93	فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
94	وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
95	إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ
96	فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ

1	إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُidhāإذاإِذَاWhenwaqaʿatiوقعتوَقَعَتِoccursl-wāqiʿatuالواقعةٱلْوَاقِعَةُthe Event,When the event befalleth -When the Inevitable Event comes to pass,When the Occurrence occurs,When the Event inevitable cometh to pass,
2	لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌlaysaليسلَيْسَNotliwaqʿatihāلوقعتهالِوَقْعَتِهَاat its occurrencekādhibatunكاذبةكَاذِبَةٌa denialThere is no denying that it will befall -there will be none to deny its occurrence;There is, at its occurrence, no denial.Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming.
3	خَافِضَةَ رَّافِعَةٌkhāfiḍatunخافضةخَافِضَةٌBringing down,rāfiʿatunرافعةرَّافِعَةٌraising up,Abasing (some), exalting (others);it will bring some low and raise others up^[1].It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].^[1608](Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt;
4	إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجّٗاidhāإذاإِذَاWhenrujjatiرجترُجَّتِwill be shakenl-arḍuالأرضٱلْأَرْضُthe earthrajjanرجارَجًّا(with) a shaking,When the earth is shaken with a shockWhen the earth is shaken violently,When the earth is shaken with convulsionWhen the earth shall be shaken to its depths,
5	وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسّٗاwabussatiوبستوَبُسَّتِAnd will be crumbledl-jibāluالجبالٱلْجِبَالُthe mountainsbassanبسابَسًّا(with awful) crumbling.And the hills are ground to powderand the mountains crushed to pieces,And the mountains are broken down, crumblingAnd the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms,
6	فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗاfakānatفكانتفَكَانَتْSo they becomehabāanهباءهَبَآءًdust particlesmunbathanمنبثامُّنۢبَثًّاdispersing.So that they become a scattered dust,and turn to scattered dust,And become dust dispersing,Becoming dust scattered abroad,
7	وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗwakuntumوكنتموَكُنتُمْAnd you will becomeazwājanأزواجاأَزْوَٰجًاkindsthalāthatanثلاثةثَلَٰثَةًthree.And ye will be three kinds:then you are sorted into three groups:And you become [of] three kinds:And ye shall be sorted out into three classes.
8	فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِfa-aṣḥābuفأصحابفَأَصْحَٰبُThen (the) companionsl-maymanatiالميمنةٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ(of) the right,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-maymanatiالميمنةٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ(of) the right?(First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand?the people of the right – how blessed will be the people of the right^[2]!Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?^[1609]Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
9	وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِwa-aṣḥābuوأصحابوَأَصْحَٰبُAnd (the) companionsl-mashamatiالمشأمةٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ(of) the left,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-mashamatiالمشأمةٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ(of) the left?And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand?The people of the left – how miserable will be the people of the left^[3]!And the companions of the left - what are companions of the left?^[1610]And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
10	وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَwal-sābiqūnaوالسابقونوَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَAnd the foremostl-sābiqūnaالسابقونٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ(are) the foremost,And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race:And the forerunners [in faith] are the forerunners [in Paradise].And the forerunners, the forerunners^[1611] -And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).
11	أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَulāikaأولئكأُوْلَٰٓئِكَThosel-muqarabūnaالمقربونٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ(are) the nearest ones.Those are they who will be brought nighThey are the nearest ones [to Allah],Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]These will be those Nearest to Allah:
12	فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِfīفيفِىInjannātiجناتجَنَّٰتِGardensl-naʿīmiالنعيمٱلنَّعِيمِ(of) Pleasure,In gardens of delight;in Gardens of Bliss,In the Gardens of Pleasure,In Gardens of Bliss:
13	ثُلَّةَ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَthullatunثلةثُلَّةٌA companyminaمنمِّنَofl-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe former (people),A multitude of those of oldmany from the early generations,A [large] company of the former peoplesA number of people from those of old,
14	وَقَلِيلَ مِّنَ ٱلْأٓخِرِينَwaqalīlunوقليلوَقَلِيلٌAnd a fewminaمنمِّنَofl-ākhirīnaالآخرينٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later (people),And a few of those of later time.and a few from the later generations.And a few of the later peoples,And a few from those of later times.
15	عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوْضُونَةٖʿalāعلىعَلَىٰOnsururinسررسُرُرٍthronesmawḍūnatinموضونةمَّوْضُونَةٍdecorated,On lined couches,[They will be seated] on jeweled couches,On thrones woven [with ornament],(They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones),
16	مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَmuttakiīnaمتكئينمُّتَّكِـِٔينَReclining,ʿalayhāعليهاعَلَيْهَاon themmutaqābilīnaمتقابلينمُتَقَٰبِلِينَfacing each other.Reclining therein face to face.reclining on them, facing one another.Reclining on them, facing each other.Reclining on them, facing each other.
17	يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنَ مُّخَلَّدُونَyaṭūfuيطوفيَطُوفُWill circulateʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْamong themwil'dānunولدانوِلْدَٰنٌboysmukhalladūnaمخلدونمُّخَلَّدُونَimmortal,There wait on them immortal youthsThey will be served by immortal youthsThere will circulate among them young boys made eternalRound about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness),
18	بِأَكْوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖbi-akwābinبأكواببِأَكْوَابٍWith vesselswa-abārīqaوأباريقوَأَبَارِيقَand jugswakasinوكأسوَكَأْسٍand a cupminمنمِّنfrommaʿīninمعينمَّعِينٍa flowing stream,With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure springwith cups, pitchers, and glasses [of wine] from a flowing spring,With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains:
19	لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَlāلالَّاNotyuṣaddaʿūnaيصدعونيُصَدَّعُونَthey will get headacheʿanhāعنهاعَنْهَاtherefromwalāولاوَلَاand notyunzifūnaينزفونيُنزِفُونَthey will get intoxicatedWherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness,which will neither cause any headache nor intoxication,No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication:
20	وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَwafākihatinوفاكهةوَفَٰكِهَةٍAnd fruitsmimmāممامِّمَّاof whatyatakhayyarūnaيتخيرونيَتَخَيَّرُونَthey select,And fruit that they preferalong with fruits of their choice,And fruit of what they selectAnd with fruits, any that they may select:
21	وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٖ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَwalaḥmiولحموَلَحْمِAnd (the) fleshṭayrinطيرطَيْرٍ(of) fowlsmimmāممامِّمَّاof whatyashtahūnaيشتهونيَشْتَهُونَthey desire.And flesh of fowls that they desire.and flesh of birds that they may desire.And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire.
22	وَحُورٌ عِينَwaḥūrunوحوروَحُورٌAnd fair onesʿīnunعينعِينٌ(with) large eyes,And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes,And [they will have] maidens with wide gorgeous eyes,And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,-
23	كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُوِٕ ٱلْمَكْنُونِka-amthāliكأمثالكَأَمْثَٰلِLikel-lu'lu-iاللؤلؤٱللُّؤْلُؤِpearlsl-maknūniالمكنونٱلْمَكْنُونِwell-protected,Like unto hidden pearls,like pristine pearls,The likenesses of pearls well-protected,Like unto Pearls well-guarded.
24	جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَjazāanجزاءجَزَآءًۢA rewardbimāبمابِمَاfor whatkānūكانواكَانُواْthey used (to)yaʿmalūnaيعملونيَعْمَلُونَdo.Reward for what they used to do.as a reward for what they used to do.As reward for what they used to do.A Reward for the deeds of their past (life).
25	لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوٗا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًاlāلالَاNotyasmaʿūnaيسمعونيَسْمَعُونَthey will hearfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinlaghwanلغوالَغْوًاvain talkwalāولاوَلَاand nottathīmanتأثيماتَأْثِيمًاsinful (speech),There hear they no vain speaking nor recriminationThey will not hear therein any idle talk or sinful speech,They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,-
26	إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗاillāإلاإِلَّاExceptqīlanقيلاقِيلًاa saying,salāmanسلاماسَلَٰمًا"Peace,salāmanسلاماسَلَٰمًاPeace."(Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace.except the words of peace, peace^[4].Only a saying [of] peace, peace.Only the saying, "Peace! Peace".
27	وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِwa-aṣḥābuوأصحابوَأَصْحَٰبُAnd (the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right?And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand?The people of the right – how blessed will be the people of the right!The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
28	فِي سِدْرٖ مَّخْضُودٖfīفيفِىAmongsid'rinسدرسِدْرٍlote treesmakhḍūdinمخضودمَّخْضُودٍthornless,Among thornless lote-trees[They will be] in the midst of thornless lote trees,[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed(They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns,
29	وَطَلْحٖ مَّنضُودٖwaṭalḥinوطلحوَطَلْحٍAnd banana treesmanḍūdinمنضودمَّنضُودٍlayered,And clustered plantains,and clusters of bananas,And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,-
30	وَظِلّٖ مَّمْدُودٖwaẓillinوظلوَظِلٍّAnd shademamdūdinممدودمَّمْدُودٍextended,And spreading shade,and extended shade,And shade extendedIn shade long-extended,
31	وَمَآءٖ مَّسْكُوبٖwamāinوماءوَمَآءٍAnd watermaskūbinمسكوبمَّسْكُوبٍpoured forth,And water gushing,and flowing water,And water poured outBy water flowing constantly,
32	وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖwafākihatinوفاكهةوَفَٰكِهَةٍAnd fruitkathīratinكثيرةكَثِيرَةٍabundant,And fruit in plentyand abundant fruit –And fruit, abundant [and varied],And fruit in abundance.
33	لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٖlāلالَّاNotmaqṭūʿatinمقطوعةمَقْطُوعَةٍlimitedwalāولاوَلَاand notmamnūʿatinممنوعةمَمْنُوعَةٍforbidden,Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden,neither ceasing nor restricted –Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden,
34	وَفُرُشٖ مَّرْفُوعَةٍwafurushinوفرشوَفُرُشٍAnd (on) couchesmarfūʿatinمرفوعةمَّرْفُوعَةٍraised.And raised couches;and elevated mattresses [on beds].And [upon] beds raised high.And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high.
35	إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗinnāإناإِنَّآIndeed, Weanshanāhunnaأنشأناهنأَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ[We] have produced theminshāanإنشاءإِنشَآءً(into) a creation,Lo! We have created them a (new) creationIndeed, We have perfectly created them [i.e., their spouses],Indeed, We have produced them [i.e., the women of Paradise] in a [new] creationWe have created (their Companions) of special creation.
36	فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًاfajaʿalnāhunnaفجعلناهنفَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّAnd We have made themabkāranأبكاراأَبْكَارًاvirgins,And made them virgins,and have made them virgins,And made them virgins,And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), -
37	عُرُبًا أَتْرَابٗاʿurubanعرباعُرُبًاDevoted,atrābanأتراباأَتْرَابًاequals in age.Lovers, friends,loving and of equal age,Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,Beloved (by nature), equal in age,-
38	لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِli-aṣḥābiلأصحابلِّأَصْحَٰبِFor (the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right,For those on the right hand;for the people of the right,For the companions of the right [who are]For the Companions of the Right Hand.
39	ثُلَّةَ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَthullatunثلةثُلَّةٌA companyminaمنمِّنَofl-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe former people,A multitude of those of oldmany from the earlier generations,A company of the former peoplesA (goodly) number from those of old,
40	وَثُلَّةَ مِّنَ ٱلْأٓخِرِينَwathullatunوثلةوَثُلَّةٌAnd a companyminaمنمِّنَofl-ākhirīnaالآخرينٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later people.And a multitude of those of later time.and many from the later generations.And a company of the later peoples.And a (goodly) number from those of later times.
41	وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِwa-aṣḥābuوأصحابوَأَصْحَٰبُAnd (the) companionsl-shimāliالشمالٱلشِّمَالِ(of) the left,māمامَآwhataṣḥābuأصحابأَصْحَٰبُ(are the) companionsl-shimāliالشمالٱلشِّمَالِ(of) the left?And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand?And the people of the left – how wretched will be the people of the left!And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
42	فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖfīفيفِىInsamūminسمومسَمُومٍscorching firewaḥamīminوحميموَحَمِيمٍand scalding water,In scorching wind and scalding water[They will be] in scorching wind and scalding water,[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water(They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water,
43	وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحْمُومٖwaẓillinوظلوَظِلٍّAnd a shademinمنمِّنofyaḥmūminيحموميَحْمُومٍblack smoke,And shadow of black smoke,in the shade of black smoke,And a shade of black smoke,And in the shades of Black Smoke:
44	لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍlāلالَّاNotbāridinباردبَارِدٍcoolwalāولاوَلَاand notkarīminكريمكَرِيمٍpleasant.Neither cool nor refreshing.neither cool nor refreshing.Neither cool nor beneficial.Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please:
45	إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَinnahumإنهمإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theykānūكانواكَانُواْwereqablaقبلقَبْلَbeforedhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatmut'rafīnaمترفينمُتْرَفِينَindulging in affluence.Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxuryIndeed, they used to be in luxuries before,Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury),
46	وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِwakānūوكانواوَكَانُواْAnd wereyuṣirrūnaيصرونيُصِرُّونَpersistingʿalāعلىعَلَىinl-ḥinthiالحنثٱلْحِنثِthe sinl-ʿaẓīmiالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمِthe great,And used to persist in the awful sin.and persisted in the gravest sin^[5].And they used to persist in the great violation,^[1612]And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme!
47	وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَwakānūوكانواوَكَانُواْAnd they used (to)yaqūlūnaيقولونيَقُولُونَsay,a-idhāأئذاأَئِذَا"Whenmit'nāمتنامِتْنَاwe diewakunnāوكناوَكُنَّاand becometurābanتراباتُرَابًاdustwaʿiẓāmanوعظاماوَعِظَٰمًاand bones,a-innāأإناأَءِنَّاwill welamabʿūthūnaلمبعوثونلَمَبْعُوثُونَsurely be resurrected?And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again,They used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, will we really be raised again?And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?-
48	أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَawaābāunāأوآباؤناأَوَءَابَآؤُنَاAnd also our fathersl-awalūnaالأولونٱلْأَوَّلُونَformer?And also our forefathers?And our forefathers as well?”And our forefathers [as well]?""(We) and our fathers of old?"
49	قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْأٓخِرِينَqulقلقُلْSay,innaإنإِنَّ"Indeed,l-awalīnaالأولينٱلْأَوَّلِينَthe formerwal-ākhirīnaوالآخرينوَٱلْءَاخِرِينَand the later peopleSay (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later timeSay, [O Prophet], “Indeed, the former and later generationsSay, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, the former and later peoplesSay: "Yea, those of old and those of later times,
50	لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٖ مَّعْلُومٖlamajmūʿūnaلمجموعونلَمَجْمُوعُونَSurely, will be gatheredilāإلىإِلَىٰformīqātiميقاتمِيقَٰتِ(the) appointmentyawminيوميَوْمٍ(of) a Daymaʿlūminمعلوممَّعْلُومٍwell-known."Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day.will be gathered on a predetermined Day.Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day.""All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known.
51	ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَthummaثمثُمَّ"Theninnakumإنكمإِنَّكُمْindeed you,ayyuhāأيهاأَيُّهَاO those astray!l-ḍālūnaالضالونٱلضَّآلُّونَO those astray!l-mukadhibūnaالمكذبونٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَthe deniers,Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers,Then you, O misguided deniers,Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,"Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!-
52	لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖlaākilūnaلآكلونلَءَاكِلُونَWill surely eatminمنمِنfromshajarinشجرشَجَرٍ(the) treeminمنمِّنofzaqqūminزقومزَقُّومٍZaqqum.Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqumwill surely eat from the tree of zaqqūm^[6],Will be eating from trees of zaqqūm"Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum.
53	فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَfamāliūnaفمالئونفَمَالِـُٔونَThen will fillmin'hāمنهامِنْهَاwith itl-buṭūnaالبطونٱلْبُطُونَthe bellies,And will fill your bellies therewith;filling your bellies with it,And filling with it your bellies"Then will ye fill your insides therewith,
54	فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِfashāribūnaفشاربونفَشَٰرِبُونَAnd drinkʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِover itminaمنمِنَ[from]l-ḥamīmiالحميمٱلْحَمِيمِthe scalding water,And thereon ye will drink of boiling water,and drinking scalding water on top of it,And drinking on top of it from scalding water"And drink Boiling Water on top of it:
55	فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِfashāribūnaفشاربونفَشَٰرِبُونَAnd will drinkshur'baشربشُرْبَ(as) drinkingl-hīmiالهيمٱلْهِيمِ(of) the thirsty camels."Drinking even as the camel drinketh.drinking like thirsty camels do.”And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels."Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!"
56	هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِhādhāهذاهَٰذَاThisnuzuluhumنزلهمنُزُلُهُمْ(is) their hospitalityyawmaيوميَوْمَ(on the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) Judgment.This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment.This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment.That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital!
57	نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWekhalaqnākumخلقناكمخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ[We] created you,falawlāفلولافَلَوْلَاso why (do) nottuṣaddiqūnaتصدقونتُصَدِّقُونَyou admit the truth?We created you. Will ye then admit the truth?It is We Who created you; why do you not then believe [in resurrection]?We have created you, so why do you not believe?It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth?
58	أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَafara-aytumأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمDo you seemāمامَّاwhattum'nūnaتمنونتُمْنُونَyou emit?Have ye seen that which ye emit?Have you thought about the semen that you emit?Have you seen that which you emit?^[1613]Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,-
59	ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it youtakhluqūnahuتخلقونهتَخْلُقُونَهُٓwho create itamأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُ(are) Wel-khāliqūnaالخالقونٱلْخَٰلِقُونَthe Creators?Do ye create it or are We the Creator?Is it you who create it, or is it We Who are the Creators?Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators?
60	نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWeqaddarnāقدرناقَدَّرْنَا[We] have decreedbaynakumuبينكمبَيْنَكُمُamong youl-mawtaالموتٱلْمَوْتَthe deathwamāوماوَمَاand notnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWebimasbūqīnaبمسبوقينبِمَسْبُوقِينَ(are) outrun,We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun,We have ordained death among you, and nothing can overcome usWe have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdoneWe have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated
61	عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَʿalāعلىعَلَىٰٓInanأنأَنthatnubaddilaنبدلنُّبَدِّلَWe (will) changeamthālakumأمثالكمأَمْثَٰلَكُمْyour likeness[es]wanunshi-akumوننشئكموَنُنشِئَكُمْand produce youfīفيفِىinmāمامَاwhatlāلالَاnottaʿlamūnaتعلمونتَعْلَمُونَyou know.That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not.from transforming you and recreating you in forms that you do not know^[7].In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.^[1614]from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not.
62	وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyʿalim'tumuعلمتمعَلِمْتُمُyou knowl-nashataالنشأةٱلنَّشْأَةَthe creationl-ūlāالأولىٱلْأُولَىٰthe first,falawlāفلولافَلَوْلَاso why nottadhakkarūnaتذكرونتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heed?And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect?You are well aware of the first creation; why do you not then take heed?And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?
63	أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَafara-aytumأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمAnd do you seemāمامَّاwhattaḥruthūnaتحرثونتَحْرُثُونَyou sow?Have ye seen that which ye cultivate?Have you thought about what you sow?And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground?
64	ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it you (who)tazraʿūnahuتزرعونهتَزْرَعُونَهُٓcause it to growamأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُ(are) Wel-zāriʿūnaالزارعونٱلزَّٰرِعُونَthe Ones Who grow?Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer?Is it you who cause it to grow, or is it We Who make it grow?Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?
65	لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَlawلولَوْIfnashāuنشاءنَشَآءُWe willedlajaʿalnāhuلجعلناهلَجَعَلْنَٰهُWe (would) surely, make itḥuṭāmanحطاماحُطَٰمًاdebris,faẓaltumفظلتمفَظَلْتُمْthen you would remaintafakkahūnaتفكهونتَفَكَّهُونَwondering,If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim:If We willed, We could reduce your harvest to rubble, leaving you to wonder and lament,If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,^[1615]Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,
66	إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَinnāإناإِنَّا"Indeed, welamugh'ramūnaلمغرمونلَمُغْرَمُونَsurely are laden with debt,Lo! we are laden with debt!“We suffered loss,[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;(Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):
67	بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَbalبلبَلْNay,naḥnuنحننَحْنُwemaḥrūmūnaمحرومونمَحْرُومُونَ(are) deprived."Nay, but we are deprived!rather, we are deprived.”Rather, we have been deprived.""Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"
68	أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَafara-aytumuأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمُDo you seel-māaالماءٱلْمَآءَthe water,alladhīالذيٱلَّذِىwhichtashrabūnaتشربونتَشْرَبُونَyou drink?Have ye observed the water which ye drink?Have you thought about the water that you drink?And have you seen the water that you drink?See ye the water which ye drink?
69	ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it youanzaltumūhuأنزلتموهأَنزَلْتُمُوهُwho send it downminaمنمِنَfroml-muz'niالمزنٱلْمُزْنِthe rain clouds,amأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُWel-munzilūnaالمنزلونٱلْمُنزِلُونَ(are) the Ones to send?Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder?Is it you who bring it down from the clouds, or is it We Who bring it down?Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?
70	لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَlawلولَوْIfnashāuنشاءنَشَآءُWe willed,jaʿalnāhuجعلناهجَعَلْنَٰهُWe (could) make itujājanأجاجاأُجَاجًاsalty,falawlāفلولافَلَوْلَاthen why are you not grateful?tashkurūnaتشكرونتَشْكُرُونَthen why are you not grateful?If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks?If We willed, We could make it salty; will you not then give thanks?If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?
71	أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَafara-aytumuأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمُDo you seel-nāraالنارٱلنَّارَthe Fire,allatīالتيٱلَّتِىwhichtūrūnaتورونتُورُونَyou ignite?Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out;Have you thought about the fire that you kindle?And have you seen the fire that you ignite?See ye the Fire which ye kindle?
72	ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَa-antumأأنتمءَأَنتُمْIs it youanshatumأنشأتمأَنشَأْتُمْwho producedshajaratahāشجرتهاشَجَرَتَهَآits treeamأمأَمْornaḥnuنحننَحْنُWel-munshiūnaالمنشئونٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ(are) the Producers?Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower?Is it you who produced its trees^[8], or is it We Who produced it?Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?
73	نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلْمُقْوِينَnaḥnuنحننَحْنُWejaʿalnāhāجعلناهاجَعَلْنَٰهَاhave made ittadhkiratanتذكرةتَذْكِرَةًa reminderwamatāʿanومتاعاوَمَتَٰعًاand a provisionlil'muq'wīnaللمقوينلِّلْمُقْوِينَfor the wayfarers in the desert.We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness.We made it a reminder [of the Hellfire] and a benefit for the travelers^[9].We have made it a reminder^[1616] and provision for the travelers,^[1617]We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts.
74	فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِfasabbiḥفسبحفَسَبِّحْSo glorifybi-is'miباسمبِٱسْمِ(the) namerabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord,l-ʿaẓīmiالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمِthe Most Great.Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous.So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme!
75	۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِfalāفلافَلَآBut nay,uq'simuأقسمأُقْسِمُI swearbimawāqiʿiبمواقعبِمَوَٰقِعِby settingl-nujūmiالنجومٱلنُّجُومِ(of) the stars,Nay, I swear by the places of the stars -I do swear^[10] by the positions of the stars –Then I swear by the setting of the stars,^[1618]Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,-
76	وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمَ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌwa-innahuوإنهوَإِنَّهُAnd indeed, itlaqasamunلقسملَقَسَمٌ(is) surely an oath,lawلولَّوْiftaʿlamūnaتعلمونتَعْلَمُونَyou know -ʿaẓīmunعظيمعَظِيمٌgreat,And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew -and this is indeed a great oath, if only you knew –And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,-
77	إِنَّهُ لَقُرْءَانَ كَرِيمَinnahuإنهإِنَّهُIndeed, itlaqur'ānunلقرآنلَقُرْءَانٌ(is) surely, a Qurankarīmunكريمكَرِيمٌnoble,That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'anthat this is indeed a noble Qur’an,Indeed, it is a noble Qur’ān.That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable,
78	فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكْنُونٖfīفيفِىInkitābinكتابكِتَٰبٍa Bookmaknūninمكنونمَّكْنُونٍwell-guarded,In a Book kept hiddenin a well-preserved Record^[11],In a Register well-protected;^[1619].In Book well-guarded,
79	لَّا يَمَسُّهُٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَlāلالَّاNoneyamassuhuيمسهيَمَسُّهُٓtouch itillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-muṭaharūnaالمطهرونٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَthe purified.Which none toucheth save the purified,that none can touch except the purified ones^[12] –None touch it except the purified [i.e., the angels].Which none shall touch but those who are clean:
80	تَنزِيلَ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَtanzīlunتنزيلتَنزِيلٌA Revelationminمنمِّنfromrabbiربرَّبِّ(the) Lordl-ʿālamīnaالعالمينٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds.A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
81	أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَafabihādhāأفبهذاأَفَبِهَٰذَاThen is it to thisl-ḥadīthiالحديثٱلْحَدِيثِstatementantumأنتمأَنتُمthat youmud'hinūnaمدهنونمُّدْهِنُونَ(are) indifferent?Is it this Statement that ye scorn,Do you take this discourse lightly,Then is it to this statement that you are indifferentIs it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem?
82	وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَwatajʿalūnaوتجعلونوَتَجْعَلُونَAnd you makeriz'qakumرزقكمرِزْقَكُمْyour provisionannakumأنكمأَنَّكُمْthat youtukadhibūnaتكذبونتُكَذِّبُونَdeny.And make denial thereof your livelihood?and instead [of thanking Allah] for the provision you are given, you show ingratitude?And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false?
83	فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَfalawlāفلولافَلَوْلَآThen why notidhāإذاإِذَاwhenbalaghatiبلغتبَلَغَتِit reachesl-ḥul'qūmaالحلقومٱلْحُلْقُومَthe throat,Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying)Then why [are you helpless] when the soul reaches the throat,Then why, when it [i.e., the soul at death] reaches the throatThen why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,-
84	وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَwa-antumوأنتموَأَنتُمْAnd youḥīna-idhinحينئذحِينَئِذٍ(at) that timetanẓurūnaتنظرونتَنظُرُونَlook on,And ye are at that moment lookingwhile you are looking on,And you are at that time looking on -And ye the while (sit) looking on,-
85	وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَwanaḥnuونحنوَنَحْنُAnd Weaqrabuأقربأَقْرَبُ(are) nearerilayhiإليهإِلَيْهِto himminkumمنكممِنكُمْthan youwalākinولكنوَلَٰكِنbutlāلالَّاyou (do) not see,tub'ṣirūnaتبصرونتُبْصِرُونَyou (do) not see,- And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not -when We are closer^[13] to him than you, but you do not see?And We [i.e., Our angels] are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,-
86	فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَfalawlāفلولافَلَوْلَآThen why not,inإنإِنifkuntumكنتمكُنتُمْyou areghayraغيرغَيْرَnotmadīnīnaمدينينمَدِينِينَto be recompensed,Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us),If you are not subject to retribution, then why do you notThen why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,-
87	تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَtarjiʿūnahāترجعونهاتَرْجِعُونَهَآBring it back,inإنإِنifkuntumكنتمكُنتُمْyou areṣādiqīnaصادقينصَٰدِقِينَtruthful.Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful?bring that [soul] back, if you are truthful?Bring it back,^[1620] if you should be truthful?Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)?
88	فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَfa-ammāفأمافَأَمَّآTheninإنإِنifkānaكانكَانَhe wasminaمنمِنَofl-muqarabīnaالمقربينٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَthose brought near,Thus if he is of those brought nigh,If that dying person is one of those who will be brought near to Allah,And if he [i.e., the deceased] was of those brought near [to Allāh],Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah,
89	فَرَوْحَ وَرَيْحَانَ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖfarawḥunفروحفَرَوْحٌThen restwarayḥānunوريحانوَرَيْحَانٌand bountywajannatuوجنتوَجَنَّتُand a Gardennaʿīminنعيمنَعِيمٍ(of) Pleasure.Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight.then [he will have] comfort, fragrance^[14], and a Garden of Bliss.Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.(There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.
90	وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّآAndinإنإِنifkānaكانكَانَhe wasminمنمِنْofaṣḥābiأصحابأَصْحَٰبِ(the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right,And if he is of those on the right hand,If he is one of the people of the right,And if he was of the companions of the right,And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand,
91	فَسَلَٰمَ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِfasalāmunفسلامفَسَلَٰمٌThen, peacelakaلكلَّكَfor you;minمنمِنْ[from]aṣḥābiأصحابأَصْحَٰبِ(the) companionsl-yamīniاليمينٱلْيَمِينِ(of) the right.Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand.[He will be told], “Peace be to you, for being one of the people of the right.”Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."(For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand.
92	وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّآButinإنإِنifkānaكانكَانَhe wasminaمنمِنَofl-mukadhibīnaالمكذبينٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَthe deniers,l-ḍālīnaالضالينٱلضَّآلِّينَthe astray,But if he is of the rejecters, the erring,But if he is one of the misguided deniers,But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong,
93	فَنُزُلَ مِّنْ حَمِيمٖfanuzulunفنزلفَنُزُلٌThen, hospitalityminمنمِّنْofḥamīminحميمحَمِيمٍ(the) scalding water,Then the welcome will be boiling waterthen he will be welcomed with scalding water,Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding waterFor him is Entertainment with Boiling Water.
94	وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍwataṣliyatuوتصليةوَتَصْلِيَةُAnd burningjaḥīminجحيمجَحِيمٍ(in) Hellfire.And roasting at hell-fire.and he will burn in Blazing Fire.And burning in Hellfire.And burning in Hell-Fire.
95	إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,hādhāهذاهَٰذَاthislahuwaلهولَهُوَsurely, itḥaqquحقحَقُّ(is the) truthl-yaqīniاليقينٱلْيَقِينِcertain.Lo! this is certain truth.This is indeed the absolute truth.Indeed, this is the true certainty,Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly.
96	فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِfasabbiḥفسبحفَسَبِّحْSo glorifybi-is'miباسمبِٱسْمِ(the) namerabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord,l-ʿaẓīmiالعظيمٱلْعَظِيمِthe Most Great.Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous.So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great.So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme.

ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ

ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ

ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ

ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ

ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ

ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ

ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ

ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ

إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ ١ لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ٢ خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ

٣ إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا ٤ وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا ٥ فَكَانَتْ

هَبَاءً مُّنبَثًّا ٦ وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً ٧ فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ

مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ٨ وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ

الْمَشْأَمَةِ ٩ وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ ١٠ أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ ١١

فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ ١٢ ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ١٣ وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ

١٤ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ ١٥ مُّتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ ١٦

يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ ١٧ بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ

١٨ لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ ١٩ وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ

٢٠ وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ٢١ وَحُورٌ عِينٌ ٢٢ كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ

الْمَكْنُونِ ٢٣ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ٢٤ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا

وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ٢٥ إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا ٢٦ وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ

الْيَمِينِ ٢٧ فِي سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ ٢٨ وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ ٢٩ وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ

٣٠ وَمَاءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ ٣١ وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ٣٢ لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ

٣٣ وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ ٣٤ إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاءً ٣٥ فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا

٣٦ عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا ٣٧ لِّأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ٣٨ ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ٣٩

وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ ٤٠ وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ

٤١ فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ ٤٢ وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ ٤٣ لَّا بَارِدٍ

وَلَا كَرِيمٍ ٤٤ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ ٤٥ وَكَانُوا

يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنثِ الْعَظِيمِ ٤٦ وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا

تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ٤٧ أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ ٤٨ قُلْ إِنَّ

الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ ٤٩ لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ٥٠

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ ٥١ لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ ٥٢

فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ ٥٣ فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ ٥٤ فَشَارِبُونَ

شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ ٥٥ هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ ٥٦ نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا

تُصَدِّقُونَ ٥٧ أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ ٥٨ أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ

الْخَالِقُونَ ٥٩ نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ٦٠

عَلَىٰ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٦١ وَلَقَدْ

عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٦٢ أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ

٦٣ أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ ٦٤ لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ

حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ ٦٥ إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ ٦٦ بَلْ نَحْنُ

مَحْرُومُونَ ٦٧ أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ ٦٨ أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ

مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ ٦٩ لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا

تَشْكُرُونَ ٧٠ أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ ٧١ أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ

شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِئُونَ ٧٢ نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا

لِّلْمُقْوِينَ ٧٣ فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ٧٤ ۞ فَلَا

أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ ٧٥ وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ ٧٦

إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ ٧٧ فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ ٧٨ لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا

الْمُطَهَّرُونَ ٧٩ تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ٨٠ أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ

أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ ٨١ وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ ٨٢ فَلَوْلَا

إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ ٨٣ وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ ٨٤ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ

إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ ٨٥ فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ

٨٦ تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ٨٧ فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ

٨٨ فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ ٨٩ وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ

الْيَمِينِ ٩٠ فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ٩١ وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ

الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ ٩٢ فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ ٩٣ وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ

٩٤ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ ٩٥ فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ٩٦

إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ ۝١ لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ۝٢ خَافِضَةَ رَّافِعَةٌ

۝٣ إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجّٗا ۝٤ وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسّٗا ۝٥ فَكَانَتْ

هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا ۝٦ وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ ۝٧ فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ

مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ ۝٨ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ

ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ ۝٩ وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ۝١٠ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ۝١١

فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ۝١٢ ثُلَّةَ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١٣ وَقَلِيلَ مِّنَ ٱلْأٓخِرِينَ

۝١٤ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوْضُونَةٖ ۝١٥ مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ ۝١٦

يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنَ مُّخَلَّدُونَ ۝١٧ بِأَكْوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ

۝١٨ لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ ۝١٩ وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ

۝٢٠ وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٖ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ۝٢١ وَحُورٌ عِينَ ۝٢٢ كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُوِٕ

ٱلْمَكْنُونِ ۝٢٣ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ۝٢٤ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوٗا

وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا ۝٢٥ إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا ۝٢٦ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ

ٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٢٧ فِي سِدْرٖ مَّخْضُودٖ ۝٢٨ وَطَلْحٖ مَّنضُودٖ ۝٢٩ وَظِلّٖ مَّمْدُودٖ

۝٣٠ وَمَآءٖ مَّسْكُوبٖ ۝٣١ وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ ۝٣٢ لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٖ

۝٣٣ وَفُرُشٖ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ ۝٣٤ إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ ۝٣٥ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا

۝٣٦ عُرُبًا أَتْرَابٗا ۝٣٧ لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٣٨ ثُلَّةَ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝٣٩

وَثُلَّةَ مِّنَ ٱلْأٓخِرِينَ ۝٤٠ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ

۝٤١ فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ ۝٤٢ وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحْمُومٖ ۝٤٣ لَّا بَارِدٖ

وَلَا كَرِيمٍ ۝٤٤ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ ۝٤٥ وَكَانُواْ

يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٤٦ وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا

تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ۝٤٧ أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ۝٤٨ قُلْ إِنَّ

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْأٓخِرِينَ ۝٤٩ لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٖ مَّعْلُومٖ ۝٥٠

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٥١ لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ ۝٥٢

فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ ۝٥٣ فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ ۝٥٤ فَشَٰرِبُونَ

شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ ۝٥٥ هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ۝٥٦ نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا

تُصَدِّقُونَ ۝٥٧ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ ۝٥٨ ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ

ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ ۝٥٩ نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ۝٦٠

عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ۝٦١ وَلَقَدْ

عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٦٢ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ

۝٦٣ ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ ۝٦٤ لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ

حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ ۝٦٥ إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ ۝٦٦ بَلْ نَحْنُ

مَحْرُومُونَ ۝٦٧ أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ ۝٦٨ ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ

مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ ۝٦٩ لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوْلَا

تَشْكُرُونَ ۝٧٠ أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ ۝٧١ ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ

شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ ۝٧٢ نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا

لِّلْمُقْوِينَ ۝٧٣ فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٧٤ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ

بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ ۝٧٥ وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمَ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ ۝٧٦

إِنَّهُ لَقُرْءَانَ كَرِيمَ ۝٧٧ فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكْنُونٖ ۝٧٨ لَّا يَمَسُّهُٓ إِلَّا

ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ ۝٧٩ تَنزِيلَ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٨٠ أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ

أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ ۝٨١ وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٨٢ فَلَوْلَآ

إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ ۝٨٣ وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ ۝٨٤ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ

إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ ۝٨٥ فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ

۝٨٦ تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ۝٨٧ فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

۝٨٨ فَرَوْحَ وَرَيْحَانَ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ ۝٨٩ وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ

ٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٩٠ فَسَلَٰمَ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ۝٩١ وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ

ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ۝٩٢ فَنُزُلَ مِّنْ حَمِيمٖ ۝٩٣ وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ

۝٩٤ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ ۝٩٥ فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۝٩٦

ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ

ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ

ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ

ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ

ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ

ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ
