Al-Fajr
﮵
The Dawn
| 1 | وَٱلۡفَجۡرِwal-fajriوالفجروَٱلْفَجْرِBy the dawn,By the DawnBy the dawn,By the dawnBy the break of Day |
| 2 | وَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٖwalayālinوليالوَلَيَالٍAnd the nightsʿashrinعشرعَشْرٍten.And ten nights,and the ten nights[1],And [by] ten nights[1913]By the Nights twice five; |
| 3 | وَٱلشَّفۡعِ وَٱلۡوَتۡرِwal-shafʿiوالشفعوَٱلشَّفْعِAnd the evenwal-watriوالوتروَٱلْوَتْرِand the odd,And the Even and the Odd,and the even and the odd[2],And [by] the even [number] and the oddBy the even and odd (contrasted); |
| 4 | وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَسۡرِwa-al-layliوالليلوَٱلَّيْلِAnd the nightidhāإذاإِذَاwhenyasriيسريَسْرِit passes.And the night when it departeth,and by the night when it comes,And [by] the night when it passes,And by the Night when it passeth away;- |
| 5 | هَلۡ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِي حِجۡرٍhalهلهَلْIsfīفيفِىindhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَthatqasamunقسمقَسَمٌ(not) an oathlidhīلذيلِّذِىfor thoseḥij'rinحجرحِجْرٍwho understand?There surely is an oath for thinking man.are these oaths not sufficient for those who have sense?Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?[1914]Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? |
| 6 | أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍalamألمأَلَمْDid nottaraترتَرَyou seekayfaكيفكَيْفَhowfaʿalaفعلفَعَلَdealtrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lordbiʿādinبعادبِعَادٍwith Aad,Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad,Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘ĀdHave you not considered how your Lord dealt with ʿAad -Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the 'Ad (people),- |
| 7 | إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلۡعِمَادِiramaإرمإِرَمَIram,dhātiذاتذَاتِpossessors (of),l-ʿimādiالعمادٱلْعِمَادِlofty pillars,With many-columned Iram,of Iram[3], who were people of great stature,[With] Iram[1915] - who had lofty pillars,[1916]Of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars, |
| 8 | ٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِallatīالتيٱلَّتِىWhichlamلملَمْnotyukh'laqيخلقيُخْلَقْhad been createdmith'luhāمثلهامِثْلُهَاlike themfīفيفِىinl-bilādiالبلادٱلْبِلَٰدِthe cities,The like of which was not created in the lands;the like of whom had never been created in the land;The likes of whom had never been created in the land?The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? |
| 9 | وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِwathamūdaوثمودوَثَمُودَAnd Thamud,alladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَwhojābūجابواجَابُواْcarved outl-ṣakhraالصخرٱلصَّخْرَthe rocksbil-wādiبالوادبِٱلْوَادِin the valley,And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley;and Thamūd, who carved out the rocks in the Valley;And [with] Thamūd, who carved out the rocks in the valley?And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- |
| 10 | وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ ذِي ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِwafir'ʿawnaوفرعونوَفِرْعَوْنَAnd Firaun,dhīذيذِىowner ofl-awtādiالأوتادٱلْأَوْتَادِstakes?And with Pharaoh, firm of might,and the mighty and powerful[4] Pharaoh?And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes?[1917]And with Pharaoh, lord of stakes? |
| 11 | ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَWhoṭaghawطغواطَغَوْاْtransgressedfīفيفِىinl-bilādiالبلادٱلْبِلَٰدِthe lands,Who (all) were rebellious (to Allah) in these lands,All of them transgressed in the land,[All of] whom oppressed within the lands(All) these transgressed beyond bounds in the lands, |
| 12 | فَأَكۡثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلۡفَسَادَfa-aktharūفأكثروافَأَكْثَرُواْAnd (made) muchfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinl-fasādaالفسادٱلْفَسَادَcorruption.And multiplied iniquity therein?and spread therein much corruption,And increased therein the corruption.And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). |
| 13 | فَصَبَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّكَ سَوۡطَ عَذَابٍfaṣabbaفصبفَصَبَّSo pouredʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْon themrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lordsawṭaسوطسَوْطَscourgeʿadhābinعذابعَذَابٍ(of) punishment.Therefore thy Lord poured on them the disaster of His punishment.so your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: |
| 14 | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلۡمِرۡصَادِinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordlabil-mir'ṣādiلبالمرصادلَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ(is) surely Ever Watchful.Lo! thy Lord is ever watchful.Indeed, your Lord is ever vigilant.Indeed, your Lord is in observation.For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. |
| 15 | فَأَمَّا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكۡرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكۡرَمَنِfa-ammāفأمافَأَمَّاAnd as forl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُman,idhāإذاإِذَاwhenmāمامَاdoesib'talāhuابتلاهٱبْتَلَىٰهُtry himrabbuhuربهرَبُّهُۥhis Lordfa-akramahuفأكرمهفَأَكْرَمَهُۥand is generous to himwanaʿʿamahuونعمهوَنَعَّمَهُۥand favors him,fayaqūluفيقولفَيَقُولُhe says,rabbīربيرَبِّىٓ"My Lordakramaniأكرمنأَكْرَمَنِhas honored me."As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me.As for man, when he is tested by his Lord by honoring him and bestowing blessings upon him, he says, “My Lord has [deservedly] honored me[5]!”And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."[1918]Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." |
| 16 | وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّآButidhāإذاإِذَاwhenmāمامَاdoesib'talāhuابتلاهٱبْتَلَىٰهُHe try himfaqadaraفقدرفَقَدَرَand restrictsʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِfor himriz'qahuرزقهرِزْقَهُۥhis provision,fayaqūluفيقولفَيَقُولُthen he saysrabbīربيرَبِّىٓ"My Lordahānaniأهاننأَهَٰنَنِ(has) humiliated me."But whenever He trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: My Lord despiseth me.But when he is tested by restricting his provision, he says, “My Lord has [undeservedly] humiliated me!”But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!" |
| 17 | كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكۡرِمُونَ ٱلۡيَتِيمَkallāكلاكَلَّاNay!balبلبَلButlāلالَّاnottuk'rimūnaتكرمونتُكْرِمُونَyou honorl-yatīmaاليتيمٱلْيَتِيمَthe orphan,Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphanNo indeed[6]! You are not kind to the orphan,No![1919] But you do not honor the orphanNay, nay! but ye honour not the orphans! |
| 18 | وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِwalāولاوَلَاAnd nottaḥāḍḍūnaتحاضونتَحَٰٓضُّونَyou feel the urgeʿalāعلىعَلَىٰtoṭaʿāmiطعامطَعَامِfeedl-mis'kīniالمسكينٱلْمِسْكِينِthe poor.And urge not on the feeding of the poor.nor do you urge one another to feed the needy,And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- |
| 19 | وَتَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكۡلٗا لَّمّٗاwatakulūnaوتأكلونوَتَأْكُلُونَAnd you consumel-turāthaالتراثٱلتُّرَاثَthe inheritanceaklanأكلاأَكْلًاdevouringlammanلمالَّمًّاaltogether,And ye devour heritages with devouring greed.and you greedily consume the entire inheritance[7],And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,[1920]And ye devour inheritance - all with greed, |
| 20 | وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗاwatuḥibbūnaوتحبونوَتُحِبُّونَAnd you lovel-mālaالمالٱلْمَالَwealthḥubbanحباحُبًّا(with) lovejammanجماجَمًّاimmense.And love wealth with abounding love.and love wealth immensely.And you love wealth with immense love.And ye love wealth with inordinate love! |
| 21 | كَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗاkallāكلاكَلَّآNay!idhāإذاإِذَاWhendukkatiدكتدُكَّتِis leveledl-arḍuالأرضٱلْأَرْضُthe earth,dakkanدكادَكًّاpounded,dakkanدكادَكًّا(and) crushed,Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding,No indeed! When the earth is crushed over and over,No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushedNay! When the earth is pounded to powder, |
| 22 | وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗاwajāaوجاءوَجَآءَAnd comesrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lordwal-malakuوالملكوَٱلْمَلَكُand the Angels,ṣaffanصفاصَفًّاrank,ṣaffanصفاصَفًّا(upon) rank,And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank,and your Lord comes[8] with the angels, rank after rank,And your Lord has come[1921] and the angels, rank upon rank,And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, |
| 23 | وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰwajīaوجيءوَجِاْىٓءَAnd is brought,yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍۭthat Day,bijahannamaبجهنمبِجَهَنَّمَHell.yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍThat Dayyatadhakkaruيتذكريَتَذَكَّرُwill rememberl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُman,wa-annāوأنىوَأَنَّىٰbut howlahuلهلَهُ(will be) for himl-dhik'rāالذكرىٱلذِّكْرَىٰthe remembrance?And hell is brought near that day; on that day man will remember, but how will the remembrance (then avail him)?and Hell is brought near on that Day – this is when man will understand, but what is the use of that understanding?And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but how [i.e., what good] to him will be the remembrance?And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? |
| 24 | يَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَيَاتِيyaqūluيقوليَقُولُHe will say,yālaytanīيا ليتنييَٰلَيْتَنِى"O I wish!qaddamtuقدمتقَدَّمْتُI had sent forthliḥayātīلحياتيلِحَيَاتِىfor my life."He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life!He will say, “Would that I had sent forth something for my [eternal] life!”He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."[1922]He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" |
| 25 | فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞfayawma-idhinفيومئذفَيَوْمَئِذٍSo that Daylāلالَّاnotyuʿadhibuيعذبيُعَذِّبُwill punish,ʿadhābahuعذابهعَذَابَهُۥٓ(as) His punishmentaḥadunأحدأَحَدٌanyone.None punisheth as He will punish on that day!None can punish as He punishes on that Day,So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict, |
| 26 | وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞwalāولاوَلَاAnd notyūthiquيوثقيُوثِقُwill bindwathāqahuوثاقهوَثَاقَهُۥٓ(as) His bindingaḥadunأحدأَحَدٌanyone.None bindeth as He then will bind.and none can bind as He binds.And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. |
| 27 | يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُyāayyatuhāيا أيتهايَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا"Ol-nafsuالنفسٱلنَّفْسُsoul!l-muṭ'ma-inatuالمطمئنةٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُwho is satisfied,But ah! thou soul at peace![It will be said to the believer,] “O the tranquil soul![To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,(To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! |
| 28 | ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗir'jiʿīارجعيٱرْجِعِىٓReturnilāإلىإِلَىٰtorabbikiربكرَبِّكِyour Lordrāḍiyatanراضيةرَاضِيَةًwell pleased,marḍiyyatanمرضيةمَّرْضِيَّةًand pleasing.Return unto thy Lord, content in His good pleasure!Return to your Lord, well pleased and pleasing [to Him].Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],"Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him! |
| 29 | فَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِيfa-ud'khulīفادخليفَٱدْخُلِىSo enterfīفيفِىamongʿibādīعباديعِبَٰدِىMy slaves,Enter thou among My bondmen!Join My [righteous] slaves,And enter among My [righteous] servants"Enter thou, then, among My devotees! |
| 30 | وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِيwa-ud'khulīوادخليوَٱدْخُلِىAnd enterjannatīجنتيجَنَّتِىMy Paradise."Enter thou My Garden!and enter My Paradise.”And enter My Paradise.""Yea, enter thou My Heaven! |
| 1 | وَالْفَجْرِ |
| 2 | وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ |
| 3 | وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ |
| 4 | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ |
| 5 | هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ |
| 6 | أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ |
| 7 | إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ |
| 8 | الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ |
| 9 | وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ |
| 10 | وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ |
| 11 | الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ |
| 12 | فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ |
| 13 | فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ |
| 14 | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ |
| 15 | فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ |
| 16 | وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ |
| 17 | كَلَّا بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ |
| 18 | وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ |
| 19 | وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا |
| 20 | وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا |
| 21 | كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا |
| 22 | وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا |
| 23 | وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ |
| 24 | يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي |
| 25 | فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ |
| 26 | وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ |
| 27 | يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ |
| 28 | ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً |
| 29 | فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي |
| 30 | وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي |
| 1 | وَٱلْفَجْرِwal-fajriوالفجروَٱلْفَجْرِBy the dawn,By the DawnBy the dawn,By the dawnBy the break of Day |
| 2 | وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٖwalayālinوليالوَلَيَالٍAnd the nightsʿashrinعشرعَشْرٍten.And ten nights,and the ten nights[1],And [by] ten nights[1913]By the Nights twice five; |

| 12 | فَأَكْثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَfa-aktharūفأكثروافَأَكْثَرُواْAnd (made) muchfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinl-fasādaالفسادٱلْفَسَادَcorruption.And multiplied iniquity therein?and spread therein much corruption,And increased therein the corruption.And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). |
| 13 | فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍfaṣabbaفصبفَصَبَّSo pouredʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْon themrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lordsawṭaسوطسَوْطَscourgeʿadhābinعذابعَذَابٍ(of) punishment.Therefore thy Lord poured on them the disaster of His punishment.so your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements: |
| 14 | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordlabil-mir'ṣādiلبالمرصادلَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ(is) surely Ever Watchful.Lo! thy Lord is ever watchful.Indeed, your Lord is ever vigilant.Indeed, your Lord is in observation.For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower. |
| 15 | فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكْرَمَنِfa-ammāفأمافَأَمَّاAnd as forl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُman,idhāإذاإِذَاwhenmāمامَاdoesib'talāhuابتلاهٱبْتَلَىٰهُtry himrabbuhuربهرَبُّهُhis Lordfa-akramahuفأكرمهفَأَكْرَمَهُand is generous to himwanaʿʿamahuونعمهوَنَعَّمَهُand favors him,fayaqūluفيقولفَيَقُولُhe says,rabbīربيرَبِّىٓ"My Lordakramaniأكرمنأَكْرَمَنِhas honored me."As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me.As for man, when he is tested by his Lord by honoring him and bestowing blessings upon him, he says, “My Lord has [deservedly] honored me[5]!”And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."[1918]Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." |
| 16 | وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّآButidhāإذاإِذَاwhenmāمامَاdoesib'talāhuابتلاهٱبْتَلَىٰهُHe try himfaqadaraفقدرفَقَدَرَand restrictsʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِfor himriz'qahuرزقهرِزْقَهُhis provision,fayaqūluفيقولفَيَقُولُthen he saysrabbīربيرَبِّىٓ"My Lordahānaniأهاننأَهَٰنَنِ(has) humiliated me."But whenever He trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: My Lord despiseth me.But when he is tested by restricting his provision, he says, “My Lord has [undeservedly] humiliated me!”But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!" |
| 17 | كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَkallāكلاكَلَّاNay!balبلبَلButlāلالَّاnottuk'rimūnaتكرمونتُكْرِمُونَyou honorl-yatīmaاليتيمٱلْيَتِيمَthe orphan,Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphanNo indeed[6]! You are not kind to the orphan,No![1919] But you do not honor the orphanNay, nay! but ye honour not the orphans! |
| 18 | وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِwalāولاوَلَاAnd nottaḥāḍḍūnaتحاضونتَحَٰٓضُّونَyou feel the urgeʿalāعلىعَلَىٰtoṭaʿāmiطعامطَعَامِfeedl-mis'kīniالمسكينٱلْمِسْكِينِthe poor.And urge not on the feeding of the poor.nor do you urge one another to feed the needy,And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- |
| 19 | وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلٗا لَّمّٗاwatakulūnaوتأكلونوَتَأْكُلُونَAnd you consumel-turāthaالتراثٱلتُّرَاثَthe inheritanceaklanأكلاأَكْلًاdevouringlammanلمالَّمًّاaltogether,And ye devour heritages with devouring greed.and you greedily consume the entire inheritance[7],And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,[1920]And ye devour inheritance - all with greed, |
| 20 | وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗاwatuḥibbūnaوتحبونوَتُحِبُّونَAnd you lovel-mālaالمالٱلْمَالَwealthḥubbanحباحُبًّا(with) lovejammanجماجَمًّاimmense.And love wealth with abounding love.and love wealth immensely.And you love wealth with immense love.And ye love wealth with inordinate love! |
| 21 | كَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗاkallāكلاكَلَّآNay!idhāإذاإِذَاWhendukkatiدكتدُكَّتِis leveledl-arḍuالأرضٱلْأَرْضُthe earth,dakkanدكادَكًّاpounded,dakkanدكادَكًّا(and) crushed,Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding,No indeed! When the earth is crushed over and over,No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushedNay! When the earth is pounded to powder, |
| 22 | وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗاwajāaوجاءوَجَآءَAnd comesrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lordwal-malakuوالملكوَٱلْمَلَكُand the Angels,ṣaffanصفاصَفًّاrank,ṣaffanصفاصَفًّا(upon) rank,And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank,and your Lord comes[8] with the angels, rank after rank,And your Lord has come[1921] and the angels, rank upon rank,And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, |
| 23 | وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوْمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوْمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰwajīaوجيءوَجِاْىٓءَAnd is brought,yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍۭthat Day,bijahannamaبجهنمبِجَهَنَّمَHell.yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍThat Dayyatadhakkaruيتذكريَتَذَكَّرُwill rememberl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُman,wa-annāوأنىوَأَنَّىٰbut howlahuلهلَهُ(will be) for himl-dhik'rāالذكرىٱلذِّكْرَىٰthe remembrance?And hell is brought near that day; on that day man will remember, but how will the remembrance (then avail him)?and Hell is brought near on that Day – this is when man will understand, but what is the use of that understanding?And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but how [i.e., what good] to him will be the remembrance?And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? |
| 24 | يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِيyaqūluيقوليَقُولُHe will say,yālaytanīيا ليتنييَٰلَيْتَنِى"O I wish!qaddamtuقدمتقَدَّمْتُI had sent forthliḥayātīلحياتيلِحَيَاتِىfor my life."He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life!He will say, “Would that I had sent forth something for my [eternal] life!”He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."[1922]He will say: "Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!" |
| 25 | فَيَوْمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُٓ أَحَدَfayawma-idhinفيومئذفَيَوْمَئِذٍSo that Daylāلالَّاnotyuʿadhibuيعذبيُعَذِّبُwill punish,ʿadhābahuعذابهعَذَابَهُٓ(as) His punishmentaḥadunأحدأَحَدٌanyone.None punisheth as He will punish on that day!None can punish as He punishes on that Day,So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict, |
| 26 | وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُٓ أَحَدَwalāولاوَلَاAnd notyūthiquيوثقيُوثِقُwill bindwathāqahuوثاقهوَثَاقَهُٓ(as) His bindingaḥadunأحدأَحَدٌanyone.None bindeth as He then will bind.and none can bind as He binds.And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind. |
| 27 | يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُyāayyatuhāيا أيتهايَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا"Ol-nafsuالنفسٱلنَّفْسُsoul!l-muṭ'ma-inatuالمطمئنةٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُwho is satisfied,But ah! thou soul at peace![It will be said to the believer,] “O the tranquil soul![To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,(To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! |
| 28 | ٱرْجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرْضِيَّةٗir'jiʿīارجعيٱرْجِعِىٓReturnilāإلىإِلَىٰtorabbikiربكرَبِّكِyour Lordrāḍiyatanراضيةرَاضِيَةًwell pleased,marḍiyyatanمرضيةمَّرْضِيَّةًand pleasing.Return unto thy Lord, content in His good pleasure!Return to your Lord, well pleased and pleasing [to Him].Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],"Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him! |
| 29 | فَٱدْخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِيfa-ud'khulīفادخليفَٱدْخُلِىSo enterfīفيفِىamongʿibādīعباديعِبَٰدِىMy slaves,Enter thou among My bondmen!Join My [righteous] slaves,And enter among My [righteous] servants"Enter thou, then, among My devotees! |
| 30 | وَٱدْخُلِي جَنَّتِيwa-ud'khulīوادخليوَٱدْخُلِىAnd enterjannatīجنتيجَنَّتِىMy Paradise."Enter thou My Garden!and enter My Paradise.”And enter My Paradise.""Yea, enter thou My Heaven! |

| ﱱ | ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ |
| ﱸ | ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ |
| ﱾ | ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ |
| ﲂ | ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ |
| ﲇ | ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ |
| ﲋ | ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ |
| ﲑ | ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ |
| ﲕ | ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ |
| ﲡ | ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ |
| ﲬ | ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ |
| ﲳ | ﲭﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ |
| ﲹ | ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ |
| ﲾ | ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ |
| ﳃ | ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ |
| ﳋ | ﳄﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ |
| ﳑ | ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ |
| ﱋ | ﱁ ﱂ ﱃﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ |
| ﱐ | ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ |
| ﱖ | ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ |
| ﱛ | ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ |
| ﱟ | ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ |
| ﱥ | ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ |
| ﱩ | ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ |
| ﱬ | ﱪ ﱫ |
ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ
ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ
ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ
ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ
ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ
ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ
ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ
ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ
ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ
ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄﳅ ﳆ
ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ
ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ
ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ
ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ
ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ
وَالْفَجْرِ ١ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ٢ وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ ٣ وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ٤
هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ ٥ أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ٦
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ ٧ الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ ٨ وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ
جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ ٩ وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ ١٠ الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي
الْبِلَادِ ١١ فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ ١٢ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ
عَذَابٍ ١٣ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ ١٤ فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ
رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ ١٥ وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ
فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ ١٦ كَلَّا بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ
الْيَتِيمَ ١٧ وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ١٨ وَتَأْكُلُونَ
التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا ١٩ وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ٢٠ كَلَّا إِذَا
دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا ٢١ وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا ٢٢
وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ
لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ ٢٣ يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي ٢٤ فَيَوْمَئِذٍ
لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ ٢٥ وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ ٢٦ يَا
أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ٢٧ ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ٢٨
فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي ٢٩ وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي ٣٠
وَٱلْفَجْرِ ١ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٖ ٢ وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ ٣ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ٤
هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمَ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ ٥ أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ٦
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ ٧ ٱلَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي ٱلْبِلَٰدِ ٨ وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ
جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ ٩ وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي ٱلْأَوْتَادِ ١٠ ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْاْ فِي
ٱلْبِلَٰدِ ١١ فَأَكْثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ ١٢ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ
عَذَابٍ ١٣ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ ١٤ فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ
رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكْرَمَنِ ١٥ وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ
فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ ١٦ كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ
ٱلْيَتِيمَ ١٧ وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ١٨ وَتَأْكُلُونَ
ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلٗا لَّمّٗا ١٩ وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗا ٢٠ كَلَّآۖ إِذَا
دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗا ٢١ وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا ٢٢
وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوْمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوْمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ
لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ٢٣ يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي ٢٤ فَيَوْمَئِذٖ
لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُٓ أَحَدَ ٢٥ وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُٓ أَحَدَ ٢٦ يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا
ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ٢٧ ٱرْجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرْضِيَّةٗ ٢٨
فَٱدْخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي ٢٩ وَٱدْخُلِي جَنَّتِي ٣٠
ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ
ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ
ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ
ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ
ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ
ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ
ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ
ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ
ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ
ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄﳅ ﳆ
ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ
ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ
ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ
ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ
