The Elephant
1 أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِalamألمأَلَمْHave nottaraترتَرَyou seenkayfaكيفكَيْفَhowfaʿalaفعلفَعَلَdealtrabbukaربكرَبُّكَyour Lordbi-aṣḥābiبأصحاببِأَصْحَٰبِwith (the) Companionsl-fīliالفيلٱلْفِيلِ(of the) Elephant?Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant?Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the people of the Elephant[1]?Have you not considered, [O Muḥammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?[1992]Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?
2 أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖalamألمأَلَمْDid notyajʿalيجعليَجْعَلْHe makekaydahumكيدهمكَيْدَهُمْtheir planفيفِىgotaḍlīlinتضليلتَضْلِيلٍastray?Did He not bring their stratagem to naught,Did He not turn their scheme into a total loss[2]?Did He not make their plan into misguidance?[1993]Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?
3 وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَwa-arsalaوأرسلوَأَرْسَلَAnd He sentʿalayhimعليهمعَلَيْهِمْagainst themṭayranطيراطَيْرًاbirdsabābīlaأبابيلأَبَابِيلَ(in) flocks.And send against them swarms of flying creatures,He sent against them swarms of birds,And He sent against them birds in flocks,And He sent against them Flights of Birds,
4 تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖtarmīhimترميهمتَرْمِيهِمStriking thembiḥijāratinبحجارةبِحِجَارَةٍwith stonesminمنمِّنofsijjīlinسجيلسِجِّيلٍbaked clay.Which pelted them with stones of baked clay,pelting them with stones of baked clay,Striking them with stones of hard clay,Striking them with stones of baked clay.
5 فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭfajaʿalahumفجعلهمفَجَعَلَهُمْThen He made themkaʿaṣfinكعصفكَعَصْفٍlike strawmakūlinمأكولمَّأْكُولٍۭeaten up.And made them like green crops devoured (by cattle)?leaving them like chewed-up chaff.And He made them like eaten straw.[1994]Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.
1 أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ
2 أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ
3 وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
4 تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
5 فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ ٤ فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ ٥
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ ۝١ أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ ۝٤ فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٖ مَّأْكُولِۭ ۝٥
ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ
ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ
