The Cleaving
| 1 | إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡidhāإذاإِذَاWhenl-samāuالسماءٱلسَّمَآءُthe skyinfaṭaratانفطرتٱنفَطَرَتْ(is) cleft asunder,When the heaven is cleft asunder,When the sky breaks apart.When the sky breaks apartWhen the Sky is cleft asunder; |
| 2 | وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡwa-idhāوإذاوَإِذَاAnd whenl-kawākibuالكواكبٱلْكَوَاكِبُthe starsintatharatانتثرتٱنتَثَرَتْscatter,When the planets are dispersed,and when the stars fall, scattered,And when the stars fall, scattering,When the Stars are scattered; |
| 3 | وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡwa-idhāوإذاوَإِذَاAnd whenl-biḥāruالبحارٱلْبِحَارُthe seasfujjiratفجرتفُجِّرَتْare made to gush forth,When the seas are poured forth,and when the seas burst forth,And when the seas are eruptedWhen the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; |
| 4 | وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡwa-idhāوإذاوَإِذَاAnd whenl-qubūruالقبورٱلْقُبُورُthe gravesbuʿ'thiratبعثرتبُعْثِرَتْare overturned,And the sepulchres are overturned,and when the graves are overturned,And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],And when the Graves are turned upside down;- |
| 5 | عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسٞ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡʿalimatعلمتعَلِمَتْWill knownafsunنفسنَفْسٌa soulmāمامَّاwhatqaddamatقدمتقَدَّمَتْit has sent forthwa-akharatوأخرتوَأَخَّرَتْand left behind.A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind.then each soul will come to know what it has done or what it has left undone.A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.(Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. |
| 6 | يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِyāayyuhāيا أيهايَٰٓأَيُّهَاOl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُman!māمامَاWhatgharrakaغركغَرَّكَhas deceived youbirabbikaبربكبِرَبِّكَconcerning your Lordl-karīmiالكريمٱلْكَرِيمِthe Most Noble,O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful,O mankind, what has lured you away from your Lord, the Most Generous,O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- |
| 7 | ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَalladhīالذيٱلَّذِىWhokhalaqakaخلقكخَلَقَكَcreated you,fasawwākaفسواكفَسَوَّىٰكَthen fashioned youfaʿadalakaفعدلكفَعَدَلَكَthen balanced you?Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee?Who created you, then shaped and proportioned you,Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; |
| 8 | فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَfīفيفِىٓInayyiأيأَىِّwhateverṣūratinصورةصُورَةٍformmāمامَّاwhatshāaشاءشَآءَHe willed,rakkabakaركبكرَكَّبَكَHe assembled you.Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee.and assembled you in whatever form He willed?In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. |
| 9 | كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِkallāكلاكَلَّاNay!balبلبَلْButtukadhibūnaتكذبونتُكَذِّبُونَyou denybil-dīniبالدينبِٱلدِّينِthe Judgment.Nay, but ye deny the Judgment.No indeed; but you deny the Judgment Day,No! But you deny the Recompense.Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! |
| 10 | وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,ʿalaykumعليكمعَلَيْكُمْover youlaḥāfiẓīnaلحافظينلَحَٰفِظِينَ(are) surely guardians,Lo! there are above you guardians,while there are watchers[1] over you,And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,[1876]But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- |
| 11 | كِرَامٗا كَٰتِبِينَkirāmanكراماكِرَامًاNoblekātibīnaكاتبينكَٰتِبِينَrecording,Generous and recording,honorable scribes,Noble and recording;Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): |
| 12 | يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَyaʿlamūnaيعلمونيَعْلَمُونَThey knowmāمامَاwhatevertafʿalūnaتفعلونتَفْعَلُونَyou do.Who know (all) that ye do.who know whatever you do.They know whatever you do.They know (and understand) all that ye do. |
| 13 | إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,l-abrāraالأبرارٱلْأَبْرَارَthe righteouslafīلفيلَفِى(will be) surely innaʿīminنعيمنَعِيمٍbliss,Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight.Indeed, the righteous will be in Bliss,Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; |
| 14 | وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,l-fujāraالفجارٱلْفُجَّارَthe wickedlafīلفيلَفِى(will be) surely injaḥīminجحيمجَحِيمٍHellfire.And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell;and the wicked will be in Blazing Fire,And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, |
| 15 | يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِyaṣlawnahāيصلونهايَصْلَوْنَهَاThey will burn (in) ityawmaيوميَوْمَ(on the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgment,They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment,which they will enter on Judgment Day,They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, |
| 16 | وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَwamāوماوَمَاAnd nothumهمهُمْtheyʿanhāعنهاعَنْهَاfrom itbighāibīnaبغائبينبِغَآئِبِينَ(will be) absent.And will not be absent thence.and will never come out of it.And never therefrom will they be absent.And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. |
| 17 | وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِwamāوماوَمَآAnd whatadrākaأدراكأَدْرَىٰكَcan make you knowmāمامَاwhatyawmuيوميَوْمُ(is the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgment?Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is!How do you know what Judgment Day is?And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? |
| 18 | ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِthummaثمثُمَّThen,māمامَآwhatadrākaأدراكأَدْرَىٰكَcan make you knowmāمامَاwhatyawmuيوميَوْمُ(is the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgment?Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is!Again, how do you know what Judgment Day is?Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? |
| 19 | يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسٞ لِّنَفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِyawmaيوميَوْمَ(The) Daylāلالَاnottamlikuتملكتَمْلِكُwill have powernafsunنفسنَفْسٌa soullinafsinلنفسلِّنَفْسٍfor a soulshayanشيئاشَيْـًٔاanything,wal-amruوالأمروَٱلْأَمْرُand the Commandyawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Daylillahiللهلِّلَّهِ(will be) with Allah.A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's.It is the Day when no soul will be of any help to another, and all command on that Day will be with Allah.It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allāh.(It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. |
| 1 | إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ |
| 2 | وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ |
| 3 | وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ |
| 4 | وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ |
| 5 | عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ |
| 6 | يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ |
| 7 | الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ |
| 8 | فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ |
| 9 | كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ |
| 10 | وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ |
| 11 | كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ |
| 12 | يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ |
| 13 | إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ |
| 14 | وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ |
| 15 | يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ |
| 16 | وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ |
| 17 | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ |
| 18 | ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ |
| 19 | يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ |

| 14 | وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖwa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,l-fujāraالفجارٱلْفُجَّارَthe wickedlafīلفيلَفِى(will be) surely injaḥīminجحيمجَحِيمٍHellfire.And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell;and the wicked will be in Blazing Fire,And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, |
| 15 | يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِyaṣlawnahāيصلونهايَصْلَوْنَهَاThey will burn (in) ityawmaيوميَوْمَ(on the) Dayl-dīniالدينٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgment,They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment,which they will enter on Judgment Day,They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, |

| ﱩ | ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ |
| ﱮ | ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ |
| ﱲ | ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ |
| ﱵ | ﱳ ﱴ |
| ﱹ | ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ |
| ﱾ | ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ |
| ﲃ | ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ |
| ﲇ | ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ |
| ﲌ | ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ |
| ﲒ | ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ |
| ﲙ | ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ |
| ﲤ | ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ |
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ
ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ
ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ
ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ
ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ
ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ
ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ
ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ
ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ
إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ ١ وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ ٢ وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ
فُجِّرَتْ ٣ وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ ٤ عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ
وَأَخَّرَتْ ٥ يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ ٦ الَّذِي
خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ٧ فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ ٨
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ ٩ وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ ١٠ كِرَامًا
كَاتِبِينَ ١١ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ ١٢ إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ ١٣ وَإِنَّ
الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ ١٤ يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ ١٥ وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ
١٦ وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ ١٧ ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
١٨ يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ ١٩
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ ١ وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ ٢ وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ
فُجِّرَتْ ٣ وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ ٤ عَلِمَتْ نَفْسَ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ
وَأَخَّرَتْ ٥ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ ٦ ٱلَّذِي
خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ٧ فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةٖ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ٨
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ ٩ وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ ١٠ كِرَامٗا
كَٰتِبِينَ ١١ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ ١٢ إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٖ ١٣ وَإِنَّ
ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٖ ١٤ يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ١٥ وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
١٦ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ١٧ ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
١٨ يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسَ لِّنَفْسٖ شَيْـٔٗاۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ ١٩
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ
ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ
ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ
ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ
ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ
ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ
