The Relief
1 أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَalamألمأَلَمْHave notnashraḥنشرحنَشْرَحْWe expandedlakaلكلَكَfor youṣadrakaصدركصَدْرَكَyour breast?Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate,Have We not reassured your heart for you [O Prophet][1],Did We not expand for you, [O Muḥammad], your breast?[1944]Have We not expanded thee thy breast?-
2 وَوَضَعۡنَا عَنكَ وِزۡرَكَwawaḍaʿnāووضعناوَوَضَعْنَاAnd We removedʿankaعنكعَنكَfrom youwiz'rakaوزركوِزْرَكَyour burdenAnd eased thee of the burdenand relieved you of your burden[2]And We removed from you your burden[1945]And removed from thee thy burden
3 ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهۡرَكَalladhīالذيٱلَّذِىٓWhichanqaḍaأنقضأَنقَضَweighed uponẓahrakaظهركظَهْرَكَyour back,Which weighed down thy back;that weighed down your back,Which had weighed upon your backThe which did gall thy back?-
4 وَرَفَعۡنَا لَكَ ذِكۡرَكَwarafaʿnāورفعناوَرَفَعْنَاAnd We raised highlakaلكلَكَfor youdhik'rakaذكركذِكْرَكَyour reputationAnd exalted thy fame?and raised high your fame for you[3]?And raised high for you your repute.And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)?
5 فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًاfa-innaفإنفَإِنَّSo indeed,maʿaمعمَعَwithl-ʿus'riالعسرٱلْعُسْرِthe hardshipyus'ranيسرايُسْرًا(is) ease.But lo! with hardship goeth ease,For indeed, with hardship comes ease[4],For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease [i.e., relief].So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief:
6 إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗاinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,maʿaمعمَعَwithl-ʿus'riالعسرٱلْعُسْرِthe hardshipyus'ranيسرايُسْرًا(is) ease.Lo! with hardship goeth ease;indeed, with hardship comes ease.Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.
7 فَإِذَا فَرَغۡتَ فَٱنصَبۡfa-idhāفإذافَإِذَاSo whenfaraghtaفرغتفَرَغْتَyou have finishedfa-inṣabفانصبفَٱنصَبْthen labor hard.So when thou art relieved, still toilSo whenever you are free[5], strive in worship,So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard,
8 وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرۡغَبwa-ilāوإلىوَإِلَىٰAnd torabbikaربكرَبِّكَyour Lordfa-ir'ghabفارغبفَٱرْغَبturn your attention.And strive to please thy Lord.and turn to your Lord in devotion.And to your Lord direct [your] longing.And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.

2 وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ
3 الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ
4 وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
5 فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
6 إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
7 فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ
8 وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب

ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ
ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ١ وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ٢
الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ٣ وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ٤ فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٥
إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٦ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ ٧ وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَب ٨
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ۝١ وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ۝٢
ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ۝٣ وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ۝٤ فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ۝٥
إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرٗا ۝٦ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ۝٧ وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ۝٨
ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ
ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ
