ﮨ

He Frowned
1 عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓʿabasaعبسعَبَسَHe frownedwatawallāوتولىوَتَوَلَّىٰٓand turned away,He frowned and turned awayHe frowned and turned away,He [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ) ] frowned and turned away(The Prophet) frowned and turned away,
2 أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰanأنأَنBecausejāahuجاءهجَآءَهُcame to himl-aʿmāالأعمىٱلْأَعْمَىٰthe blind man.Because the blind man came unto him.when the blind man came to him[1].Because there came to him the blind man,[1853] [interrupting].Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting).
3 وَمَا يُدۡرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓwamāوماوَمَاBut whatyud'rīkaيدريكيُدْرِيكَwould make you knowlaʿallahuلعلهلَعَلَّهُۥthat he mightyazzakkāيزكىيَزَّكَّىٰٓpurify himself,What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace)How would you know? Perhaps he might be purified[2],But what would make you perceive, [O Muḥammad], that perhaps he might be purified[1854]But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?-
4 أَوۡ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰٓawأوأَوْOryadhakkaruيذكريَذَّكَّرُbe remindedfatanfaʿahuفتنفعهفَتَنفَعَهُso would benefit himl-dhik'rāالذكرىٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓthe reminder?Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him?or he might take heed and benefit from the reminder?Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him?
5 أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰammāأماأَمَّاAs formaniمنمَنِ(him) whois'taghnāاستغنىٱسْتَغْنَىٰconsiders himself free from need,As for him who thinketh himself independent,But he who was indifferent[3],As for he who thinks himself without need,[1855]As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient,
6 فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰfa-antaفأنتفَأَنتَSo youlahuلهلَهُۥto himtaṣaddāتصدىتَصَدَّىٰgive attention.Unto him thou payest regard.you give him your full attention,To him you give attention.To him dost thou attend;
7 وَمَا عَلَيۡكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰwamāوماوَمَاAnd notʿalaykaعليكعَلَيْكَupon youallāألاأَلَّاthat notyazzakkāيزكىيَزَّكَّىٰhe purifies himself.Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace).although you are not to be blamed if he does not purify himself[4].And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified.[1856]Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding).
8 وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسۡعَىٰwa-ammāوأماوَأَمَّاBut as formanمنمَن(he) whojāakaجاءكجَآءَكَcame to youyasʿāيسعىيَسْعَىٰstriving,But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purposeBut as for the one who came to you striving [for purification],But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly,
9 وَهُوَ يَخۡشَىٰwahuwaوهووَهُوَWhile heyakhshāيخشىيَخْشَىٰfears,And hath fear,and he fears Allah,While he fears [Allāh],And with fear (in his heart),
10 فَأَنتَ عَنۡهُ تَلَهَّىٰfa-antaفأنتفَأَنتَBut youʿanhuعنهعَنْهُfrom himtalahhāتلهىتَلَهَّىٰ(are) distracted.From him thou art distracted.you let yourself be distracted from him.From him you are distracted.Of him wast thou unmindful.
11 كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذۡكِرَةٞkallāكلاكَلَّآNay!innahāإنهاإِنَّهَاIndeed, ittadhkiratunتذكرةتَذْكِرَةٌ(is) a reminder,Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment,No indeed; this is a reminder –No! Indeed, they [i.e., these verses] are a reminder;By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction:
12 فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥfamanفمنفَمَنSo whosoevershāaشاءشَآءَwillsdhakarahuذكرهذَكَرَهُۥmay remember it.So let whosoever will pay heed to it,so whoever wills may give heed to it –So whoever wills may remember it.[1857]Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance.
13 فِي صُحُفٖ مُّكَرَّمَةٖfīفيفِىInṣuḥufinصحفصُحُفٍsheetsmukarramatinمكرمةمُّكَرَّمَةٍhonored,On honoured leaveson venerable pages,[It is recorded] in honored sheets,(It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour,
14 مَّرۡفُوعَةٖ مُّطَهَّرَةِۭmarfūʿatinمرفوعةمَّرْفُوعَةٍExalted,muṭahharatinمطهرةمُّطَهَّرَةٍۭpurified,Exalted, purified,exalted and purified,Exalted and purified,Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy,
15 بِأَيۡدِي سَفَرَةٖbi-aydīبأيديبِأَيْدِىIn (the) handssafaratinسفرةسَفَرَةٍ(of) scribes.(Set down) by scribes[preserved] in the hands of angel-scribes,[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels,(Written) by the hands of scribes-
16 كِرَامِۭ بَرَرَةٖkirāminكرامكِرَامٍۭNoble,bararatinبررةبَرَرَةٍdutiful.Noble and righteous.honorable and obedient.Noble and dutiful.Honourable and Pious and Just.
17 قُتِلَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَآ أَكۡفَرَهُۥqutilaقتلقُتِلَIs destroyedl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُ[the] man,māمامَآhowakfarahuأكفرهأَكْفَرَهُۥungrateful is he!Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful!Woe to man; how ungrateful he is[5]!Destroyed [i.e., cursed] is man;[1858] how disbelieving is he.Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah;
18 مِنۡ أَيِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقَهُۥminمنمِنْFromayyiأيأَىِّwhatshayinشيءشَىْءٍthingkhalaqahuخلقهخَلَقَهُۥHe created him?From what thing doth He create him?From what did He create him?From what thing [i.e., substance] did He create him?From what stuff hath He created him?
19 مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥminمنمِنFromnuṭ'fatinنطفةنُّطْفَةٍa semen-dropkhalaqahuخلقهخَلَقَهُۥHe created him,faqaddarahuفقدرهفَقَدَّرَهُۥthen He proportioned him,From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him,He created him from a drop of semen and proportioned him[6],From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;[1859]From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions;
20 ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُۥthummaثمثُمَّThenl-sabīlaالسبيلٱلسَّبِيلَthe way,yassarahuيسرهيَسَّرَهُۥHe made easy for him,Then maketh the way easy for him,then He made the way easy for him[7];Then He eased the way for him;[1860]Then doth He make His path smooth for him;
21 ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقۡبَرَهُۥthummaثمثُمَّThenamātahuأماتهأَمَاتَهُۥHe causes him to diefa-aqbarahuفأقبرهفَأَقْبَرَهُۥand provides a grave for him,Then causeth him to die, and burieth him;then He caused him to die and be buried;Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.[1861]Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave;
22 ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُۥthummaثمثُمَّThenidhāإذاإِذَاwhenshāaشاءشَآءَHe wills,ansharahuأنشرهأَنشَرَهُۥHe will resurrect him.Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life.then when He wills, He will resurrect him.Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again).
23 كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقۡضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُۥkallāكلاكَلَّاNay!lammāلمالَمَّاNotyaqḍiيقضيَقْضِhe has accomplishedmāمامَآwhatamarahuأمرهأَمَرَهُۥHe commanded him.Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him.Yet he has not fulfilled what He commanded him.No! He [i.e., man] has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him.
24 فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓfalyanẓuriفلينظرفَلْيَنظُرِThen let lookl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُthe manilāإلىإِلَىٰatṭaʿāmihiطعامهطَعَامِهِۦٓhis food,Let man consider his food:Let man consider the food he eats:Then let mankind look at his food -Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it):
25 أَنَّا صَبَبۡنَا ٱلۡمَآءَ صَبّٗاannāأناأَنَّاThat [We]ṣababnāصببناصَبَبْنَا[We] pouredl-māaالماءٱلْمَآءَthe waterṣabbanصباصَبًّا(in) abundance,How We pour water in showersHow We pour down rainwater in torrents,How We poured down water in torrents,For that We pour forth water in abundance,
26 ثُمَّ شَقَقۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ شَقّٗاthummaثمثُمَّThenshaqaqnāشققناشَقَقْنَاWe cleavedl-arḍaالأرضٱلْأَرْضَthe earthshaqqanشقاشَقًّاsplitting,Then split the earth in cleftsand cause the soil to split open [for sprouts],Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],And We split the earth in fragments,
27 فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا حَبّٗاfa-anbatnāفأنبتنافَأَنۢبَتْنَاThen We caused to growfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinḥabbanحباحَبًّاgrain,And cause the grain to grow thereinand cause grains to grow in it,And caused to grow within it grainAnd produce therein corn,
28 وَعِنَبٗا وَقَضۡبٗاwaʿinabanوعنباوَعِنَبًاAnd grapeswaqaḍbanوقضباوَقَضْبًاand green fodder,And grapes and green fodderas well as grapes and fodder,And grapes and herbageAnd Grapes and nutritious plants,
29 وَزَيۡتُونٗا وَنَخۡلٗاwazaytūnanوزيتوناوَزَيْتُونًاAnd olivewanakhlanونخلاوَنَخْلًاand date-palms,And olive-trees and palm-treesand olive trees and date palms,And olive and palm treesAnd Olives and Dates,
30 وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلۡبٗاwaḥadāiqaوحدائقوَحَدَآئِقَAnd gardensghul'banغلباغُلْبًا(of) thick foliage,And garden-closes of thick foliageand dense orchards,And gardens of dense shrubberyAnd enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees,
31 وَفَٰكِهَةٗ وَأَبّٗاwafākihatanوفاكهةوَفَٰكِهَةًAnd fruitswa-abbanوأباوَأَبًّاand grass,And fruits and grasses:and fruits and grass,And fruit and grass -And fruits and fodder,-
32 مَّتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡmatāʿanمتاعامَّتَٰعًا(As) a provisionlakumلكملَّكُمْfor youwali-anʿāmikumولأنعامكموَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْand for your cattle.Provision for you and your cattle.as provision for you and your livestock.[As] enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock.For use and convenience to you and your cattle.
33 فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُfa-idhāفإذافَإِذَاBut whenjāatiجاءتجَآءَتِcomesl-ṣākhatuالصاخةٱلصَّآخَّةُthe Deafening Blast,But when the Shout comethBut when the Deafening Blast[8] comes,But when there comes the Deafening Blast[1862]At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,-
34 يَوۡمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مِنۡ أَخِيهِyawmaيوميَوْمَ(The) Dayyafirruيفريَفِرُّwill fleel-maruالمرءٱلْمَرْءُa manminمنمِنْfromakhīhiأخيهأَخِيهِhis brother,On the day when a man fleeth from his brotheron that Day everyone will flee from his brother,On the Day a man will flee from his brotherThat Day shall a man flee from his own brother,
35 وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِwa-ummihiوأمهوَأُمِّهِۦAnd his motherwa-abīhiوأبيهوَأَبِيهِand his father,And his mother and his fatherand from his mother and father,And his mother and his fatherAnd from his mother and his father,
36 وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِwaṣāḥibatihiوصاحبتهوَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦAnd his wifewabanīhiوبنيهوَبَنِيهِand his children,And his wife and his children,and from his wife and children.And his wife and his children,And from his wife and his children.
37 لِكُلِّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ شَأۡنٞ يُغۡنِيهِlikulliلكللِكُلِّFor everyim'ri-inامرئٱمْرِئٍmanmin'humمنهممِّنْهُمْamong themyawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayshanunشأنشَأْنٌ(will be) a matteryugh'nīhiيغنيهيُغْنِيهِoccupying him.On that day, everyone will have enough concern of his own[9].Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.[1863]Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.
38 وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ مُّسۡفِرَةٞwujūhunوجوهوُجُوهٌFaces,yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Daymus'firatunمسفرةمُّسْفِرَةٌ(will be) bright,On that Day, some faces will be bright,On that day faces will be bright as dawn,[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -Some faces that Day will be beaming,
39 ضَاحِكَةٞ مُّسۡتَبۡشِرَةٞḍāḥikatunضاحكةضَاحِكَةٌLaughing,mus'tabshiratunمستبشرةمُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌrejoicing at good news.cheerful and rejoicing;Laughing, rejoicing at good news;Laughing, rejoicing at good news.Laughing, rejoicing.
40 وَوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَلَيۡهَا غَبَرَةٞwawujūhunووجوهوَوُجُوهٌAnd faces,yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Day,ʿalayhāعليهاعَلَيْهَاupon themghabaratunغبرةغَبَرَةٌ(will be) dust,while other faces will be dust-stained,And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them,And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.And other faces that Day will be dust-stained,
41 تَرۡهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌtarhaquhāترهقهاتَرْهَقُهَاWill cover themqataratunقترةقَتَرَةٌdarkness.covered in darkness.Veiled in darkness,Blackness will cover them.Blackness will cover them:
42 أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَفَرَةُ ٱلۡفَجَرَةُulāikaأولئكأُوْلَٰٓئِكَThosehumuهمهُمُ[they]l-kafaratuالكفرةٱلْكَفَرَةُ(are) the disbelievers,l-fajaratuالفجرةٱلْفَجَرَةُthe wicked ones.Such are the disbelievers, the wicked.Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity.
1 عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
2 أَن جَاءَهُ الْأَعْمَىٰ
3 وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّىٰ
4 أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ
5 أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَىٰ
6 فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّىٰ
7 وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ
8 وَأَمَّا مَن جَاءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ
9 وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ
10 فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ
11 كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ
12 فَمَن شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ
13 فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ
14 مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ
15 بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ
16 كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ
17 قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ
18 مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ
19 مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ
20 ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ
21 ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ
22 ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنشَرَهُ
23 كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ
24 فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ
25 أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا
26 ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا
27 فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا
28 وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا
29 وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا
30 وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا
31 وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا
32 مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
33 فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ
34 يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ
35 وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ
36 وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ
37 لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ
38 وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ
39 ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
40 وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ
41 تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ
42 أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ

14 مَّرْفُوعَةٖ مُّطَهَّرَةِۭmarfūʿatinمرفوعةمَّرْفُوعَةٍExalted,muṭahharatinمطهرةمُّطَهَّرَةٍۭpurified,Exalted, purified,exalted and purified,Exalted and purified,Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy,
15 بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٖbi-aydīبأيديبِأَيْدِىIn (the) handssafaratinسفرةسَفَرَةٍ(of) scribes.(Set down) by scribes[preserved] in the hands of angel-scribes,[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels,(Written) by the hands of scribes-
16 كِرَامِۭ بَرَرَةٖkirāminكرامكِرَامٍۭNoble,bararatinبررةبَرَرَةٍdutiful.Noble and righteous.honorable and obedient.Noble and dutiful.Honourable and Pious and Just.
17 قُتِلَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُqutilaقتلقُتِلَIs destroyedl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُ[the] man,māمامَآhowakfarahuأكفرهأَكْفَرَهُungrateful is he!Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful!Woe to man; how ungrateful he is[5]!Destroyed [i.e., cursed] is man;[1858] how disbelieving is he.Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah;
18 مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُminمنمِنْFromayyiأيأَىِّwhatshayinشيءشَىْءٍthingkhalaqahuخلقهخَلَقَهُHe created him?From what thing doth He create him?From what did He create him?From what thing [i.e., substance] did He create him?From what stuff hath He created him?
19 مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُminمنمِنFromnuṭ'fatinنطفةنُّطْفَةٍa semen-dropkhalaqahuخلقهخَلَقَهُHe created him,faqaddarahuفقدرهفَقَدَّرَهُthen He proportioned him,From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him,He created him from a drop of semen and proportioned him[6],From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;[1859]From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions;
20 ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُthummaثمثُمَّThenl-sabīlaالسبيلٱلسَّبِيلَthe way,yassarahuيسرهيَسَّرَهُHe made easy for him,Then maketh the way easy for him,then He made the way easy for him[7];Then He eased the way for him;[1860]Then doth He make His path smooth for him;
21 ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُthummaثمثُمَّThenamātahuأماتهأَمَاتَهُHe causes him to diefa-aqbarahuفأقبرهفَأَقْبَرَهُand provides a grave for him,Then causeth him to die, and burieth him;then He caused him to die and be buried;Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.[1861]Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave;
22 ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُthummaثمثُمَّThenidhāإذاإِذَاwhenshāaشاءشَآءَHe wills,ansharahuأنشرهأَنشَرَهُHe will resurrect him.Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life.then when He wills, He will resurrect him.Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again).
23 كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُkallāكلاكَلَّاNay!lammāلمالَمَّاNotyaqḍiيقضيَقْضِhe has accomplishedmāمامَآwhatamarahuأمرهأَمَرَهُHe commanded him.Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him.Yet he has not fulfilled what He commanded him.No! He [i.e., man] has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him.
24 فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓfalyanẓuriفلينظرفَلْيَنظُرِThen let lookl-insānuالإنسانٱلْإِنسَٰنُthe manilāإلىإِلَىٰatṭaʿāmihiطعامهطَعَامِهِۦٓhis food,Let man consider his food:Let man consider the food he eats:Then let mankind look at his food -Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it):
25 أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا ٱلْمَآءَ صَبّٗاannāأناأَنَّاThat [We]ṣababnāصببناصَبَبْنَا[We] pouredl-māaالماءٱلْمَآءَthe waterṣabbanصباصَبًّا(in) abundance,How We pour water in showersHow We pour down rainwater in torrents,How We poured down water in torrents,For that We pour forth water in abundance,
26 ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقّٗاthummaثمثُمَّThenshaqaqnāشققناشَقَقْنَاWe cleavedl-arḍaالأرضٱلْأَرْضَthe earthshaqqanشقاشَقًّاsplitting,Then split the earth in cleftsand cause the soil to split open [for sprouts],Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],And We split the earth in fragments,
27 فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبّٗاfa-anbatnāفأنبتنافَأَنۢبَتْنَاThen We caused to growfīhāفيهافِيهَاthereinḥabbanحباحَبًّاgrain,And cause the grain to grow thereinand cause grains to grow in it,And caused to grow within it grainAnd produce therein corn,
28 وَعِنَبٗا وَقَضْبٗاwaʿinabanوعنباوَعِنَبًاAnd grapeswaqaḍbanوقضباوَقَضْبًاand green fodder,And grapes and green fodderas well as grapes and fodder,And grapes and herbageAnd Grapes and nutritious plants,
29 وَزَيْتُونٗا وَنَخْلٗاwazaytūnanوزيتوناوَزَيْتُونًاAnd olivewanakhlanونخلاوَنَخْلًاand date-palms,And olive-trees and palm-treesand olive trees and date palms,And olive and palm treesAnd Olives and Dates,
30 وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبٗاwaḥadāiqaوحدائقوَحَدَآئِقَAnd gardensghul'banغلباغُلْبًا(of) thick foliage,And garden-closes of thick foliageand dense orchards,And gardens of dense shrubberyAnd enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees,
31 وَفَٰكِهَةٗ وَأَبّٗاwafākihatanوفاكهةوَفَٰكِهَةًAnd fruitswa-abbanوأباوَأَبًّاand grass,And fruits and grasses:and fruits and grass,And fruit and grass -And fruits and fodder,-
32 مَّتَٰعٗا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْmatāʿanمتاعامَّتَٰعًا(As) a provisionlakumلكملَّكُمْfor youwali-anʿāmikumولأنعامكموَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْand for your cattle.Provision for you and your cattle.as provision for you and your livestock.[As] enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock.For use and convenience to you and your cattle.
33 فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُfa-idhāفإذافَإِذَاBut whenjāatiجاءتجَآءَتِcomesl-ṣākhatuالصاخةٱلصَّآخَّةُthe Deafening Blast,But when the Shout comethBut when the Deafening Blast[8] comes,But when there comes the Deafening Blast[1862]At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,-
34 يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِyawmaيوميَوْمَ(The) Dayyafirruيفريَفِرُّwill fleel-maruالمرءٱلْمَرْءُa manminمنمِنْfromakhīhiأخيهأَخِيهِhis brother,On the day when a man fleeth from his brotheron that Day everyone will flee from his brother,On the Day a man will flee from his brotherThat Day shall a man flee from his own brother,
35 وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِwa-ummihiوأمهوَأُمِّهِۦAnd his motherwa-abīhiوأبيهوَأَبِيهِand his father,And his mother and his fatherand from his mother and father,And his mother and his fatherAnd from his mother and his father,
36 وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِwaṣāḥibatihiوصاحبتهوَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦAnd his wifewabanīhiوبنيهوَبَنِيهِand his children,And his wife and his children,and from his wife and children.And his wife and his children,And from his wife and his children.
37 لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِيٕٖ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٖ شَأْنَ يُغْنِيهِlikulliلكللِكُلِّFor everyim'ri-inامرئٱمْرِئٍmanmin'humمنهممِّنْهُمْamong themyawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayshanunشأنشَأْنٌ(will be) a matteryugh'nīhiيغنيهيُغْنِيهِoccupying him.On that day, everyone will have enough concern of his own[9].Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.[1863]Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.
38 وُجُوهَ يَوْمَئِذٖ مُّسْفِرَةَwujūhunوجوهوُجُوهٌFaces,yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Daymus'firatunمسفرةمُّسْفِرَةٌ(will be) bright,On that Day, some faces will be bright,On that day faces will be bright as dawn,[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -Some faces that Day will be beaming,
39 ضَاحِكَةَ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةَḍāḥikatunضاحكةضَاحِكَةٌLaughing,mus'tabshiratunمستبشرةمُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌrejoicing at good news.cheerful and rejoicing;Laughing, rejoicing at good news;Laughing, rejoicing at good news.Laughing, rejoicing.
40 وَوُجُوهَ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةَwawujūhunووجوهوَوُجُوهٌAnd faces,yawma-idhinيومئذيَوْمَئِذٍthat Day,ʿalayhāعليهاعَلَيْهَاupon themghabaratunغبرةغَبَرَةٌ(will be) dust,while other faces will be dust-stained,And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them,And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.And other faces that Day will be dust-stained,
41 تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌtarhaquhāترهقهاتَرْهَقُهَاWill cover themqataratunقترةقَتَرَةٌdarkness.covered in darkness.Veiled in darkness,Blackness will cover them.Blackness will cover them:
42 أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُulāikaأولئكأُوْلَٰٓئِكَThosehumuهمهُمُ[they]l-kafaratuالكفرةٱلْكَفَرَةُ(are) the disbelievers,l-fajaratuالفجرةٱلْفَجَرَةُthe wicked ones.Such are the disbelievers, the wicked.Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity.

ﱑ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ
ﱕ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ

ﱞ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ
ﱣ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ
ﱦ ﱤ ﱥ
ﱪ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ
ﱮ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ
ﱲ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ
ﱶ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ
ﱹ ﱷ ﱸ
ﱼ ﱺ ﱻ
ﱿ ﱽ ﱾ
ﲄ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ
ﲉ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ
ﲎ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ
ﲒ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ
ﲖ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ
ﲛ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ
ﲡ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ
ﲦ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ
ﲫ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ
ﲰ ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ
ﲴ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ
ﲷ ﲵ ﲶ
ﲺ ﲸ ﲹ
ﲽ ﲻ ﲼ
ﳀ ﲾ ﲿ
ﳄ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ
ﳈ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ
ﳎ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ
ﳑ ﳏ ﳐ
ﳔ ﳒ ﳓ
ﳛ ﳕ ﳖ ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ ﳚ
ﳟ ﳜ ﳝ ﳞ
ﳢ ﳠ ﳡ
ﳧ ﳣ ﳤ ﳥ ﳦ
ﱃ ﱁ ﱂ
ﱈ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ
ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ
ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ
ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ
ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ
ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ
ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ
ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ
ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ
ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ
ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ
ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ ﳒ ﳓ ﳔ ﳕ
ﳖ ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ ﳚ ﳛ ﳜ ﳝ ﳞ
ﳟ ﳠ ﳡ ﳢ ﳣ ﳤ ﳥ ﳦ ﳧ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ
عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ١ أَن جَاءَهُ الْأَعْمَىٰ ٢ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّىٰ ٣
أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ ٤ أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَىٰ ٥ فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّىٰ
٦ وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ ٧ وَأَمَّا مَن جَاءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ ٨ وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ ٩
فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ ١٠ كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ ١١ فَمَن شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ ١٢ فِي صُحُفٍ
مُّكَرَّمَةٍ ١٣ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ ١٤ بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ ١٥ كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ ١٦
قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ ١٧ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ ١٨ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ
خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ ١٩ ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ ٢٠ ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ ٢١ ثُمَّ إِذَا
شَاءَ أَنشَرَهُ ٢٢ كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ ٢٣ فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ
٢٤ أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا ٢٥ ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا ٢٦ فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا
حَبًّا ٢٧ وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا ٢٨ وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا ٢٩ وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا ٣٠ وَفَاكِهَةً
وَأَبًّا ٣١ مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ ٣٢ فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ ٣٣ يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ
الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ ٣٤ وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ ٣٥ وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ ٣٦ لِكُلِّ
امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ ٣٧ وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ
٣٨ ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ ٣٩ وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ ٤٠
تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ ٤١ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ ٤٢
عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ۝١ أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ ۝٢ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ ۝٣
أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ ۝٤ أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰ ۝٥ فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّىٰ
۝٦ وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ ۝٧ وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ ۝٨ وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ ۝٩
فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ ۝١٠ كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةَ ۝١١ فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُ ۝١٢ فِي صُحُفٖ
مُّكَرَّمَةٖ ۝١٣ مَّرْفُوعَةٖ مُّطَهَّرَةِۭ ۝١٤ بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٖ ۝١٥ كِرَامِۭ بَرَرَةٖ ۝١٦
قُتِلَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَآ أَكْفَرَهُ ۝١٧ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ ۝١٨ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ
خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ ۝١٩ ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ ۝٢٠ ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ ۝٢١ ثُمَّ إِذَا
شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُ ۝٢٢ كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُ ۝٢٣ فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ
۝٢٤ أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا ٱلْمَآءَ صَبّٗا ۝٢٥ ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ شَقّٗا ۝٢٦ فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا
حَبّٗا ۝٢٧ وَعِنَبٗا وَقَضْبٗا ۝٢٨ وَزَيْتُونٗا وَنَخْلٗا ۝٢٩ وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلْبٗا ۝٣٠ وَفَٰكِهَةٗ
وَأَبّٗا ۝٣١ مَّتَٰعٗا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ ۝٣٢ فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ ۝٣٣ يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ
ٱلْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ ۝٣٤ وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ ۝٣٥ وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ ۝٣٦ لِكُلِّ
ٱمْرِيٕٖ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٖ شَأْنَ يُغْنِيهِ ۝٣٧ وُجُوهَ يَوْمَئِذٖ مُّسْفِرَةَ
۝٣٨ ضَاحِكَةَ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةَ ۝٣٩ وَوُجُوهَ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةَ ۝٤٠
تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ ۝٤١ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَفَرَةُ ٱلْفَجَرَةُ ۝٤٢
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ
ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ
ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ
ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ
ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ
ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ
ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ
ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭ
ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ
ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ ﳅ ﳆ
ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ ﳐ ﳑ ﳒ
