ﭿ

The Star
1 وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰwal-najmiوالنجموَٱلنَّجْمِBy the staridhāإذاإِذَاwhenhawāهوىهَوَىٰit goes down,By the Star when it setteth,By the star when it sets,By the star when it descends,By the Star when it goes down,-
2 مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰمامَاNotḍallaضلضَلَّhas strayedṣāḥibukumصاحبكمصَاحِبُكُمْyour companionwamāوماوَمَاand notghawāغوىغَوَىٰhas he erred,Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived;Your companion [i.e., the Prophet] has neither strayed nor is he deluded.Your companion [i.e., Muḥammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled.
3 وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓwamāوماوَمَاAnd notyanṭiquينطقيَنطِقُhe speaksʿaniعنعَنِfroml-hawāالهوىٱلْهَوَىٰٓthe desire.Nor doth he speak of (his own) desire.Nor does he speak out of his own desire.Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.
4 إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰinإنإِنْNothuwaهوهُوَitillāإلاإِلَّا(is) exceptwaḥyunوحيوَحْىٌa revelationyūḥāيوحىيُوحَىٰrevealed,It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired,It is but a revelation sent down [to him].It is not but a revelation revealed,It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
5 عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰʿallamahuعلمهعَلَّمَهُۥHas taught himshadīduشديدشَدِيدُthe (one) mightyl-quwāالقوىٱلْقُوَىٰ(in) power,Which one of mighty powers hath taught him,He was taught by [an angel of] mighty power[1],Taught to him by one intense in strength [i.e., Gabriel] -He was taught by one Mighty in Power,
6 ذُو مِرَّةٖ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰdhūذوذُوPossessor of soundness.mirratinمرةمِرَّةٍPossessor of soundness.fa-is'tawāفاستوىفَٱسْتَوَىٰAnd he rose,One vigorous; and he grew clear to viewand of great perfection[2], who manifested himself [in his true form][3]One of soundness.[1562] And he rose to [his] true form[1563]Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form);
7 وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰwahuwaوهووَهُوَWhile hebil-ufuqiبالأفقبِٱلْأُفُقِ(was) in the horizon -l-aʿlāالأعلىٱلْأَعْلَىٰthe highest.When he was on the uppermost horizon.when he was on the higher horizon[4].While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon.[1564]While he was in the highest part of the horizon:
8 ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰthummaثمثُمَّThendanāدنادَنَاhe approachedfatadallāفتدلىفَتَدَلَّىٰand came down,Then he drew nigh and came downThen he approached [the Prophet] and descended,Then he approached and descendedThen he approached and came closer,
9 فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَيۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰfakānaفكانفَكَانَAnd wasqābaقابقَابَ(at) a distanceqawsayniقوسينقَوْسَيْنِ(of) two bow-(lengths)awأوأَوْoradnāأدنىأَدْنَىٰnearer.Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer,until he was only two bow-lengths away or even closer.And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer;
10 فَأَوۡحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَآ أَوۡحَىٰfa-awḥāفأوحىفَأَوْحَىٰٓSo he revealedilāإلىإِلَىٰtoʿabdihiعبدهعَبْدِهِۦHis slaveمامَآwhatawḥāأوحىأَوْحَىٰhe revealed.And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed.Then he revealed to His slave[5] what he had to reveal.And he revealed to His Servant[1565] what he revealed [i.e., conveyed].So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.
11 مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓمامَاNotkadhabaكذبكَذَبَliedl-fuāduالفؤادٱلْفُؤَادُthe heartمامَاwhatraāرأىرَأَىٰٓit saw.The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw.The [Prophet’s] heart[6] did not deny what he saw.The heart[1566] did not lie [about] what it saw.The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw.
12 أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰafatumārūnahuأفتمارونهأَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥThen will you dispute with himʿalāعلىعَلَىٰaboutمامَاwhatyarāيرىيَرَىٰhe saw?Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he seeth?Do you dispute with him concerning what he saw?So will you dispute with him over what he saw?Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
13 وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyraāhuرآهرَءَاهُhe saw himnazlatanنزلةنَزْلَةً(in) descentukh'rāأخرىأُخْرَىٰanother,And verily he saw him yet another timeHe certainly saw him a second time[7]And he certainly saw him in another descent[1567]For indeed he saw him at a second descent,
14 عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰʿindaعندعِندَNearsid'ratiسدرةسِدْرَةِ(the) Lote Treel-muntahāالمنتهىٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ(of) the utmost boundary,By the lote-tree of the utmost boundary,at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary [in the seventh heaven]At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary -Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass:
15 عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰٓʿindahāعندهاعِندَهَاNear itjannatuجنةجَنَّةُ(is the) Gardenl-mawāالمأوىٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ(of) Abode.Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode.near which is the Garden of Abode,Near it is the Garden of Refuge [i.e., Paradise] -Near it is the Garden of Abode.
16 إِذۡ يَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا يَغۡشَىٰidhإذإِذْWhenyaghshāيغشىيَغْشَىcoveredl-sid'rataالسدرةٱلسِّدْرَةَthe Lote Treeمامَاwhatyaghshāيغشىيَغْشَىٰcovers,When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree,when the Lote Tree was overwhelmed with [divine] splendors.When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].[1568]Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!)
17 مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰمامَاNotzāghaزاغزَاغَswervedl-baṣaruالبصرٱلْبَصَرُthe sightwamāوماوَمَاand notṭaghāطغىطَغَىٰit transgressed.The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold.His gaze did not wander, nor did it look beyond the limit.The sight [of the Prophet (ﷺ)] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].(His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong!
18 لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓlaqadلقدلَقَدْCertainlyraāرأىرَأَىٰhe sawminمنمِنْofāyātiآياتءَايَٰتِ(the) Signsrabbihiربهرَبِّهِ(of) his Lordl-kub'rāالكبرىٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓthe Greatest.Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord.He certainly saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord.He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest!
19 أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱللَّٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰafara-aytumuأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمُSo have you seenl-lātaاللاتٱللَّٰتَthe Latwal-ʿuzāوالعزىوَٱلْعُزَّىٰand the Uzza,Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'UzzaHave you [O disbelievers] thought about [the idols of] Lāt and ‘Uzzā,So have you considered al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā?Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza,
20 وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓwamanataومناةوَمَنَوٰةَAnd Manatl-thālithataالثالثةٱلثَّالِثَةَthe third,l-ukh'rāالأخرىٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓthe other?And Manat, the third, the other?and Manāt, the third one as well[8]?And Manāt, the third - the other one?[1569]And another, the third (goddess), Manat?
21 أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰalakumuألكمأَلَكُمُIs for youl-dhakaruالذكرٱلذَّكَرُthe malewalahuولهوَلَهُand for Himl-unthāالأنثىٱلْأُنثَىٰthe female?Are yours the males and His the females?Do you choose for yourselves males and for Him females?Is the male for you and for Him the female?What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female?
22 تِلۡكَ إِذٗا قِسۡمَةٞ ضِيزَىٰٓtil'kaتلكتِلْكَThis,idhanإذاإِذًاthen,qis'matunقسمةقِسْمَةٌ(is) a divisionḍīzāضيزىضِيزَىٰٓunfair.That indeed were an unfair division!That is then an unfair division!That, then, is an unjust division.[1570]Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair!
23 إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّآ أَسۡمَآءٞ سَمَّيۡتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَٰنٍۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓinإنإِنْNothiyaهيهِىَtheyillāإلاإِلَّآ(are) exceptasmāonأسماءأَسْمَآءٌnamessammaytumūhāسميتموهاسَمَّيْتُمُوهَآyou have named them,antumأنتمأَنتُمْyouwaābāukumوآباؤكموَءَابَآؤُكُمand your forefathers,مامَّآnotanzalaأنزلأَنزَلَhas Allah sent downl-lahuاللهٱللَّهُhas Allah sent downbihāبهابِهَاfor itminمنمِنanysul'ṭāninسلطانسُلْطَٰنٍauthority.inإنإِنNotyattabiʿūnaيتبعونيَتَّبِعُونَthey followillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-ẓanaالظنٱلظَّنَّassumptionwamāوماوَمَاand whattahwāتهوىتَهْوَىdesirel-anfusuالأنفسٱلْأَنفُسُthe(ir) souls.walaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyjāahumجاءهمجَآءَهُمhas come to themminمنمِّنfromrabbihimuربهمرَّبِّهِمُtheir Lordl-hudāالهدىٱلْهُدَىٰٓthe guidance.They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them.These [idols] are no more than names you and your forefathers have made up[9], for which Allah has not sent down any authority. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their souls desire, although there has come to them guidance from their Lord.They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allāh has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!
24 أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰamأمأَمْOrlil'insāniللإنسانلِلْإِنسَٰنِ(is) for manمامَاwhattamannāتمنىتَمَنَّىٰhe wishes?Or shall man have what he coveteth?Is it that man can get whatever he wishes for[10]?Or is there for man whatever he wishes?Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after?
25 فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰfalillahiفللهفَلِلَّهِBut for Allahl-ākhiratuالآخرةٱلْءَاخِرَةُ(is) the lastwal-ūlāوالأولىوَٱلْأُولَىٰand the first.But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former.Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and this world.Rather, to Allāh belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong.
26 ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن يَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرۡضَىٰٓwakamوكموَكَمAnd how manyminمنمِّنofmalakinملكمَّلَكٍ(the) Angelsفيفِىinl-samāwātiالسماواتٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensلالَاnottugh'nīتغنيتُغْنِىwill availshafāʿatuhumشفاعتهمشَفَٰعَتُهُمْtheir intercessionshayanشيئاشَيْـًٔاanythingillāإلاإِلَّاexceptminمنمِنۢafterbaʿdiبعدبَعْدِafteranأنأَن[that]yadhanaيأذنيَأْذَنَAllah has given permissionl-lahuاللهٱللَّهُAllah has given permissionlimanلمنلِمَنfor whomyashāuيشاءيَشَآءُHe willswayarḍāويرضىوَيَرْضَىٰٓand approves.And how many angels are in the heavens whose intercession availeth naught save after Allah giveth leave to whom He chooseth and accepteth.How many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will be of no avail except after Allah’s permission to whom He wills and pleases.And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allāh has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.
27 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,alladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whoلالَا(do) notyu'minūnaيؤمنونيُؤْمِنُونَbelievebil-ākhiratiبالآخرةبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafter,layusammūnaليسمونلَيُسَمُّونَsurely they namel-malāikataالملائكةٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelstasmiyataتسميةتَسْمِيَةَname(s)l-unthāالأنثىٱلْأُنثَىٰ(of) female,Lo! it is those who disbelieve in the Hereafter who name the angels with the names of females.Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter give the angels female names.Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.
28 وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَيۡـٔٗاwamāوماوَمَاAnd notlahumلهملَهُمfor thembihiبهبِهِۦabout itminمنمِنْanyʿil'minعلمعِلْمٍknowledge.inإنإِنNotyattabiʿūnaيتبعونيَتَّبِعُونَthey followillāإلاإِلَّاbutl-ẓanaالظنٱلظَّنَّassumption.wa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,l-ẓanaالظنٱلظَّنَّthe assumptionلالَا(does) notyugh'nīيغنييُغْنِىavailminaمنمِنَagainstl-ḥaqiالحقٱلْحَقِّthe truthshayanشيئاشَيْـًٔاanything.And they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and lo! a guess can never take the place of the truth.They have no knowledge about it. They only follow conjecture, but conjecture is of no avail against the truth.And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.
29 فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ يُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَاfa-aʿriḍفأعرضفَأَعْرِضْSo turn awayʿanعنعَنfrommanمنمَّن(him) whotawallāتولىتَوَلَّىٰturns awayʿanعنعَنfromdhik'rināذكرناذِكْرِنَاOur Reminderwalamولموَلَمْand notyuridيرديُرِدْhe desiresillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-ḥayataالحياةٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifel-dun'yāالدنياٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world.Then withdraw (O Muhammad) from him who fleeth from Our remembrance and desireth but the life of the world.So pay no heed to those who turn away from Our message[11] and who only seek the life of this world.So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life.Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.
30 ذَٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰdhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَThatmablaghuhumمبلغهممَبْلَغُهُم(is) their summinaمنمِّنَofl-ʿil'miالعلمٱلْعِلْمِknowledge.innaإنإِنَّIndeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordhuwaهوهُوَ(is) He (Who)aʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُknows bestbimanبمنبِمَن(he) whoḍallaضلضَلَّstraysʿanعنعَنfromsabīlihiسبيلهسَبِيلِهِۦHis Path,wahuwaوهووَهُوَand Heaʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُknows bestbimaniبمنبِمَنِ(he) whoih'tadāاهتدىٱهْتَدَىٰis guided.Such is their sum of knowledge. Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth, and He is Best Aware of him whom goeth right.That is the limit of their knowledge. Indeed, your Lord knows best who has strayed from His Way, and He knows best who is guided.That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.That is as far as knowledge will reach them. Verily thy Lord knoweth best those who stray from His Path, and He knoweth best those who receive guidance.
31 وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىwalillahiوللهوَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahمامَا(is) whateverفيفِى(is) inl-samāwātiالسماواتٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavenswamāوماوَمَاand whateverفيفِى(is) inl-arḍiالأرضٱلْأَرْضِthe earthliyajziyaليجزيلِيَجْزِىَthat He may recompensealladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whoasāūأساءواأَسَٰٓـُٔواْdo evilbimāبمابِمَاwith whatʿamilūعملواعَمِلُواْthey have donewayajziyaويجزيوَيَجْزِىَand recompensealladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whoaḥsanūأحسنواأَحْسَنُواْdo goodbil-ḥus'nāبالحسنىبِٱلْحُسْنَىwith the best.And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil with that which they have done, and reward those who do good with goodness.To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, so that He may recompense the evildoers for what they did, and reward those who do good with the best reward[12],And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] -Yea, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: so that He rewards those who do evil, according to their deeds, and He rewards those who do good, with what is best.
32 ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةٞ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَThose whoyajtanibūnaيجتنبونيَجْتَنِبُونَavoidkabāiraكبائركَبَٰٓئِرَgreatl-ith'miالإثمٱلْإِثْمِsinswal-fawāḥishaوالفواحشوَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَand the immoralitiesillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-lamamaاللممٱللَّمَمَthe small faults;innaإنإِنَّindeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordwāsiʿuواسعوَٰسِعُ(is) vastl-maghfiratiالمغفرةٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ(in) forgiveness.huwaهوهُوَHeaʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowing about youbikumبكمبِكُمْ(is) most knowing about youidhإذإِذْwhenansha-akumأنشأكمأَنشَأَكُمHe produced youminaمنمِّنَfroml-arḍiالأرضٱلْأَرْضِthe earthwa-idhوإذوَإِذْand whenantumأنتمأَنتُمْyou (were)ajinnatunأجنةأَجِنَّةٌfetusesفيفِىinbuṭūniبطونبُطُونِ(the) wombsummahātikumأمهاتكمأُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ(of) your mothers.falāفلافَلَاSo (do) nottuzakkūتزكواتُزَكُّوٓاْascribe purityanfusakumأنفسكمأَنفُسَكُمْ(to) yourselves.huwaهوهُوَHeaʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُknows bestbimaniبمنبِمَنِ(he) whoittaqāاتقىٱتَّقَىٰٓfears.Those who avoid enormities of sin and abominations, save the unwilled offences - (for them) lo! thy Lord is of vast mercy. He is Best Aware of you (from the time) when He created you from the earth, and when ye were hidden in the bellies of your mothers. Therefor ascribe not purity unto yourselves. He is Best Aware of him who wardeth off (evil).those who avoid major sins and shameful acts, except for minor lapses. Indeed, your Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you best, as He created you from the earth[13] and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers[14]. So do not claim purity for yourselves, for He knows best who is truly righteous.Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.
33 أَفَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰafara-aytaأفرأيتأَفَرَءَيْتَDid you seealladhīالذيٱلَّذِىthe one whotawallāتولىتَوَلَّىٰturned awayDidst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away,Have you seen the one who turned away [from Islam],Have you seen the one who turned awaySeest thou one who turns back,
34 وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِيلٗا وَأَكۡدَىٰٓwa-aʿṭāوأعطىوَأَعْطَىٰAnd gaveqalīlanقليلاقَلِيلًاa little,wa-akdāوأكدىوَأَكْدَىٰٓand withheld?And gave a little, then was grudging?who gave a little, and then stopped?And gave a little and [then] refrained?Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)?
35 أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓaʿindahuأعندهأَعِندَهُۥIs with himʿil'muعلمعِلْمُ(the) knowledgel-ghaybiالغيبٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseen,fahuwaفهوفَهُوَso heyarāيرىيَرَىٰٓsees?Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth?Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he has insight[15]?Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees?[1571]What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see?
36 أَمۡ لَمۡ يُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰamأمأَمْOrlamلملَمْnotyunabbaينبأيُنَبَّأْhe was informedbimāبمابِمَاwith whatفيفِى(was) inṣuḥufiصحفصُحُفِ(the) Scripturesmūsāموسىمُوسَىٰ(of) Musa,Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of MosesOr has he not been informed of what is in the Scriptures of Moses,Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of MosesNay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses-
37 وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِي وَفَّىٰٓwa-ib'rāhīmaوإبراهيموَإِبْرَٰهِيمَAnd Ibrahim,alladhīالذيٱلَّذِىwhowaffāوفىوَفَّىٰٓfulfilled?And Abraham who paid his debt:and of Abraham, who fulfilled his duty?And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] -And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?-
38 أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٞ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰallāألاأَلَّاThat nottaziruتزرتَزِرُwill bearwāziratunوازرةوَازِرَةٌa bearer of burdenswiz'raوزروِزْرَ(the) burdenukh'rāأخرىأُخْرَىٰ(of) another,That no laden one shall bear another's load,That no bearer of burden will bear the burden of another,That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of anotherNamely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another;
39 وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰwa-anوأنوَأَنAnd thatlaysaليسلَّيْسَis notlil'insāniللإنسانلِلْإِنسَٰنِfor manillāإلاإِلَّاexceptمامَاwhatsaʿāسعىسَعَىٰhe strives (for),And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort,and that man will not receive except what he strives for,And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strivesThat man can have nothing but what he strives for;
40 وَأَنَّ سَعۡيَهُۥ سَوۡفَ يُرَىٰwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatsaʿyahuسعيهسَعْيَهُۥhis strivingsawfaسوفسَوْفَwill soonyurāيرىيُرَىٰbe seen.And that his effort will be seen.and that his efforts will be examined,And that his effort is going to be seen -That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight:
41 ثُمَّ يُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَآءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰthummaثمثُمَّThenyuj'zāhuيجزاهيُجْزَىٰهُhe will be recompensed for itl-jazāaالجزاءٱلْجَزَآءَthe recompensel-awfāالأوفىٱلْأَوْفَىٰthe fullest.And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment;then he will be recompensed in full,Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense -Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete;
42 وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatilāإلىإِلَىٰtorabbikaربكرَبِّكَyour Lordl-muntahāالمنتهىٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ(is) the final goal.And that thy Lord, He is the goal;and that to your Lord is the final return,And that to your Lord is the finalityThat to thy Lord is the final Goal;
43 وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُۥAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]aḍḥakaأضحكأَضْحَكَmakes (one) laughwa-abkāوأبكىوَأَبْكَىٰand makes (one) weep.And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep,and that He is the One Who makes people laugh and weep[16],And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weepThat it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;
44 وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡيَاwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُۥAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]amātaأماتأَمَاتَcauses deathwa-aḥyāوأحياوَأَحْيَاand gives life.And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life;and that He is the One Who causes death and gives life,And that it is He who causes death and gives lifeThat it is He Who granteth Death and Life;
45 وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُۥAnd that Hekhalaqaخلقخَلَقَcreatedl-zawjayniالزوجينٱلزَّوْجَيْنِthe pairs,l-dhakaraالذكرٱلذَّكَرَthe malewal-unthāوالأنثىوَٱلْأُنثَىٰand the femaleAnd that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female,and that He created the pairs, male and female,And that He creates the two mates - the male and female -That He did create in pairs,- male and female,
46 مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰminمنمِنFromnuṭ'fatinنطفةنُّطْفَةٍa semen-dropidhāإذاإِذَاwhentum'nāتمنىتُمْنَىٰit is emitted.From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth;from a drop of sperm when it is emitted,From a sperm-drop when it is emittedFrom a seed when lodged (in its place);
47 وَأَنَّ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِupon Himl-nashataالنشأةٱلنَّشْأَةَ(is) the bringing forthl-ukh'rāالأخرىٱلْأُخْرَىٰanother.And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth;and it is upon Him to bring about the second creation.And that [incumbent] upon Him is the other [i.e., next] creation.That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead);
48 وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُۥAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]aghnāأغنىأَغْنَىٰenricheswa-aqnāوأقنىوَأَقْنَىٰand suffices.And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth;And He is the One Who enriches and bestows wealth,And that it is He who enriches and sufficesThat it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction;
49 وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُۥAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]rabbuربرَبُّ(is the) Lordl-shiʿ'rāالشعرىٱلشِّعْرَىٰ(of) SiriusAnd that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius;and that He is the Lord of Sirius[17].And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius[1572]That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star);
50 وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُۥٓAnd that HeahlakaأهلكأَهْلَكَdestroyedʿādanعاداعَادًاAadl-ūlāالأولىٱلْأُولَىٰthe first,And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad,And that He destroyed the earlier ‘Ād[18],And that He destroyed the first [people of] ʿAadAnd that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people),
51 وَثَمُودَاْ فَمَآ أَبۡقَىٰwathamūdāوثمودوَثَمُودَاْAnd Thamud,famāفمافَمَآso notabqāأبقىأَبْقَىٰHe spared,And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not;and Thamūd[19], sparing none,And Thamūd - and He did not spare [them] -And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life.
52 وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰwaqawmaوقوموَقَوْمَAnd (the) peoplenūḥinنوحنُوحٍ(of) Nuhminمنمِّنbefore.qabluقبلقَبْلُbefore.innahumإنهمإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theykānūكانواكَانُواْthey werehumهمهُمْthey wereaẓlamaأظلمأَظْلَمَmore unjustwa-aṭghāوأطغىوَأَطْغَىٰand more rebellious.And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious;and [He destroyed] the people of Noah before them; they were indeed more wicked and more rebellious.And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing.And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors,
53 وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰwal-mu'tafikataوالمؤتفكةوَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَAnd the overturned citiesahwāأهوىأَهْوَىٰHe overthrewAnd Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyedAnd He toppled the cities[20] upside down,And the overturned towns[1573] He hurled downAnd He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).
54 فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰfaghashāhāفغشاهافَغَشَّىٰهَاSo covered themمامَاwhatghashāغشىغَشَّىٰcovered.So that there covered them that which did cover.and they were utterly covered [by stones][21].And covered them by that which He covered.[1574]So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.
55 فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰfabi-ayyiفبأيفَبِأَىِّThen which (of)ālāiآلاءءَالَآءِthe Favorsrabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord,tatamārāتتمارىتَتَمَارَىٰwill you doubt?Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute?Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?
56 هَٰذَا نَذِيرٞ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰٓhādhāهذاهَٰذَاThisnadhīrunنذيرنَذِيرٌ(is) a warner,minaمنمِّنَfroml-nudhuriالنذرٱلنُّذُرِthe warnersl-ūlāالأولىٱلْأُولَىٰٓthe former.This is a warner of the warners of old.This [Prophet] is a warner like the earlier warners.This [Prophet (ﷺ)] is a warner from [i.e., like] the former warners.This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old!
57 أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡأٓزِفَةُazifatiأزفتأَزِفَتِHas approachedl-āzifatuالآزفةٱلْءَازِفَةُthe Approaching Day.The threatened Hour is nigh.The imminent Hour has drawn near,The Approaching Day has approached.The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:
58 لَيۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌlaysaليسلَيْسَNot islahāلهالَهَاfor itminمنمِنbesidesdūniدوندُونِbesidesl-lahiاللهٱللَّهِAllahkāshifatunكاشفةكَاشِفَةٌany remover.None beside Allah can disclose it.none but Allah can disclose it.Of it, [from those] besides Allāh, there is no remover.No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare.
59 أَفَمِنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ تَعۡجَبُونَafaminأفمنأَفَمِنْThen ofhādhāهذاهَٰذَاthisl-ḥadīthiالحديثٱلْحَدِيثِstatementtaʿjabūnaتعجبونتَعْجَبُونَyou wonder?Marvel ye then at this statement,Do you find this discourse astonishing,Then at this statement do you wonder?Do ye then wonder at this recital?
60 وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَwataḍḥakūnaوتضحكونوَتَضْحَكُونَAnd you laughwalāولاوَلَاand (do) nottabkūnaتبكونتَبْكُونَweep,And laugh and not weep,and you laugh [at it] and not weep,And you laugh and do not weepAnd will ye laugh and not weep,-
61 وَأَنتُمۡ سَٰمِدُونَwa-antumوأنتموَأَنتُمْWhile yousāmidūnaسامدونسَٰمِدُونَamuse (yourselves)?While ye amuse yourselves?while heedlessly lost in amusement?While you are proudly sporting?[1575]Wasting your time in vanities?
62 فَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلَّهِۤ وَٱعۡبُدُواْ۩fa-us'judūفاسجدوافَٱسْجُدُواْSo prostratelillahiللهلِلَّهِto Allahwa-uʿ'budūواعبدواوَٱعْبُدُواْand worship (Him).Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him.So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him].So prostrate to Allāh and worship [Him].But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)!
1 وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ
2 مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
3 وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ
4 إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ
5 عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَىٰ
6 ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَىٰ
7 وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَىٰ
8 ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ
9 فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ
10 فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَىٰ
11 مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰ
12 أَفَتُمَارُونَهُ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ
13 وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ
14 عِندَ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنتَهَىٰ
15 عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ الْمَأْوَىٰ
16 إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ
17 مَا زَاغَ الْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ
18 لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَىٰ
19 أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّىٰ
20 وَمَنَاةَ الثَّالِثَةَ الْأُخْرَىٰ
21 أَلَكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الْأُنثَىٰ
22 تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَىٰ
23 إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا أَسْمَاءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُم مَّا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَانٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى الْأَنفُسُ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ الْهُدَىٰ
24 أَمْ لِلْإِنسَانِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ
25 فَلِلَّهِ الْآخِرَةُ وَالْأُولَىٰ
26 ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ لَا تُغْنِي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْضَىٰ
27 إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ الْأُنثَىٰ
28 وَمَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا
29 فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
30 ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ
31 وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاءُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا بِالْحُسْنَى
32 الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ فَلَا تُزَكُّوا أَنفُسَكُمْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ
33 أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ
34 وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰ
35 أَعِندَهُ عِلْمُ الْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰ
36 أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ
37 وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِي وَفَّىٰ
38 أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ
39 وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَانِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
40 وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
41 ثُمَّ يُجْزَاهُ الْجَزَاءَ الْأَوْفَىٰ
42 وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الْمُنتَهَىٰ
43 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ
44 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا
45 وَأَنَّهُ خَلَقَ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ
46 مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ
47 وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُخْرَىٰ
48 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ
49 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرَىٰ
50 وَأَنَّهُ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا الْأُولَىٰ
51 وَثَمُودَ فَمَا أَبْقَىٰ
52 وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ
53 وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ
54 فَغَشَّاهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ
55 فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
56 هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ النُّذُرِ الْأُولَىٰ
57 أَزِفَتِ الْآزِفَةُ
58 لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ
59 أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ
60 وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ
61 وَأَنتُمْ سَامِدُونَ
62 فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا ۩
1 وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰwal-najmiوالنجموَٱلنَّجْمِBy the staridhāإذاإِذَاwhenhawāهوىهَوَىٰit goes down,By the Star when it setteth,By the star when it sets,By the star when it descends,By the Star when it goes down,-
2 مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰمامَاNotḍallaضلضَلَّhas strayedṣāḥibukumصاحبكمصَاحِبُكُمْyour companionwamāوماوَمَاand notghawāغوىغَوَىٰhas he erred,Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived;Your companion [i.e., the Prophet] has neither strayed nor is he deluded.Your companion [i.e., Muḥammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled.
3 وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓwamāوماوَمَاAnd notyanṭiquينطقيَنطِقُhe speaksʿaniعنعَنِfroml-hawāالهوىٱلْهَوَىٰٓthe desire.Nor doth he speak of (his own) desire.Nor does he speak out of his own desire.Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.
4 إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيَ يُوحَىٰinإنإِنْNothuwaهوهُوَitillāإلاإِلَّا(is) exceptwaḥyunوحيوَحْىٌa revelationyūḥāيوحىيُوحَىٰrevealed,It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired,It is but a revelation sent down [to him].It is not but a revelation revealed,It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
5 عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰʿallamahuعلمهعَلَّمَهُHas taught himshadīduشديدشَدِيدُthe (one) mightyl-quwāالقوىٱلْقُوَىٰ(in) power,Which one of mighty powers hath taught him,He was taught by [an angel of] mighty power[1],Taught to him by one intense in strength [i.e., Gabriel] -He was taught by one Mighty in Power,
6 ذُو مِرَّةٖ فَٱسْتَوَىٰdhūذوذُوPossessor of soundness.mirratinمرةمِرَّةٍPossessor of soundness.fa-is'tawāفاستوىفَٱسْتَوَىٰAnd he rose,One vigorous; and he grew clear to viewand of great perfection[2], who manifested himself [in his true form][3]One of soundness.[1562] And he rose to [his] true form[1563]Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form);
7 وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰwahuwaوهووَهُوَWhile hebil-ufuqiبالأفقبِٱلْأُفُقِ(was) in the horizon -l-aʿlāالأعلىٱلْأَعْلَىٰthe highest.When he was on the uppermost horizon.when he was on the higher horizon[4].While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon.[1564]While he was in the highest part of the horizon:
8 ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰthummaثمثُمَّThendanāدنادَنَاhe approachedfatadallāفتدلىفَتَدَلَّىٰand came down,Then he drew nigh and came downThen he approached [the Prophet] and descended,Then he approached and descendedThen he approached and came closer,
9 فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰfakānaفكانفَكَانَAnd wasqābaقابقَابَ(at) a distanceqawsayniقوسينقَوْسَيْنِ(of) two bow-(lengths)awأوأَوْoradnāأدنىأَدْنَىٰnearer.Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer,until he was only two bow-lengths away or even closer.And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer;
10 فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰfa-awḥāفأوحىفَأَوْحَىٰٓSo he revealedilāإلىإِلَىٰtoʿabdihiعبدهعَبْدِهِۦHis slaveمامَآwhatawḥāأوحىأَوْحَىٰhe revealed.And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed.Then he revealed to His slave[5] what he had to reveal.And he revealed to His Servant[1565] what he revealed [i.e., conveyed].So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.
11 مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓمامَاNotkadhabaكذبكَذَبَliedl-fuāduالفؤادٱلْفُؤَادُthe heartمامَاwhatraāرأىرَأَىٰٓit saw.The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw.The [Prophet’s] heart[6] did not deny what he saw.The heart[1566] did not lie [about] what it saw.The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw.
12 أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰafatumārūnahuأفتمارونهأَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُThen will you dispute with himʿalāعلىعَلَىٰaboutمامَاwhatyarāيرىيَرَىٰhe saw?Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he seeth?Do you dispute with him concerning what he saw?So will you dispute with him over what he saw?Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
13 وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰwalaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyraāhuرآهرَءَاهُhe saw himnazlatanنزلةنَزْلَةً(in) descentukh'rāأخرىأُخْرَىٰanother,And verily he saw him yet another timeHe certainly saw him a second time[7]And he certainly saw him in another descent[1567]For indeed he saw him at a second descent,
14 عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰʿindaعندعِندَNearsid'ratiسدرةسِدْرَةِ(the) Lote Treel-muntahāالمنتهىٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ(of) the utmost boundary,By the lote-tree of the utmost boundary,at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary [in the seventh heaven]At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary -Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass:
15 عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓʿindahāعندهاعِندَهَاNear itjannatuجنةجَنَّةُ(is the) Gardenl-mawāالمأوىٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ(of) Abode.Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode.near which is the Garden of Abode,Near it is the Garden of Refuge [i.e., Paradise] -Near it is the Garden of Abode.
16 إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰidhإذإِذْWhenyaghshāيغشىيَغْشَىcoveredl-sid'rataالسدرةٱلسِّدْرَةَthe Lote Treeمامَاwhatyaghshāيغشىيَغْشَىٰcovers,When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree,when the Lote Tree was overwhelmed with [divine] splendors.When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].[1568]Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!)
17 مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰمامَاNotzāghaزاغزَاغَswervedl-baṣaruالبصرٱلْبَصَرُthe sightwamāوماوَمَاand notṭaghāطغىطَغَىٰit transgressed.The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold.His gaze did not wander, nor did it look beyond the limit.The sight [of the Prophet (ﷺ)] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].(His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong!
18 لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓlaqadلقدلَقَدْCertainlyraāرأىرَأَىٰhe sawminمنمِنْofāyātiآياتءَايَٰتِ(the) Signsrabbihiربهرَبِّهِ(of) his Lordl-kub'rāالكبرىٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓthe Greatest.Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord.He certainly saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord.He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest!
19 أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰafara-aytumuأفرأيتمأَفَرَءَيْتُمُSo have you seenl-lātaاللاتٱللَّٰتَthe Latwal-ʿuzāوالعزىوَٱلْعُزَّىٰand the Uzza,Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'UzzaHave you [O disbelievers] thought about [the idols of] Lāt and ‘Uzzā,So have you considered al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā?Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza,
20 وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓwamanataومناةوَمَنَوٰةَAnd Manatl-thālithataالثالثةٱلثَّالِثَةَthe third,l-ukh'rāالأخرىٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓthe other?And Manat, the third, the other?and Manāt, the third one as well[8]?And Manāt, the third - the other one?[1569]And another, the third (goddess), Manat?
21 أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰalakumuألكمأَلَكُمُIs for youl-dhakaruالذكرٱلذَّكَرُthe malewalahuولهوَلَهُand for Himl-unthāالأنثىٱلْأُنثَىٰthe female?Are yours the males and His the females?Do you choose for yourselves males and for Him females?Is the male for you and for Him the female?What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female?
22 تِلْكَ إِذٗا قِسْمَةَ ضِيزَىٰٓtil'kaتلكتِلْكَThis,idhanإذاإِذًاthen,qis'matunقسمةقِسْمَةٌ(is) a divisionḍīzāضيزىضِيزَىٰٓunfair.That indeed were an unfair division!That is then an unfair division!That, then, is an unjust division.[1570]Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair!
23 إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءَ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓinإنإِنْNothiyaهيهِىَtheyillāإلاإِلَّآ(are) exceptasmāonأسماءأَسْمَآءٌnamessammaytumūhāسميتموهاسَمَّيْتُمُوهَآyou have named them,antumأنتمأَنتُمْyouwaābāukumوآباؤكموَءَابَآؤُكُمand your forefathers,مامَّآnotanzalaأنزلأَنزَلَhas Allah sent downl-lahuاللهٱللَّهُhas Allah sent downbihāبهابِهَاfor itminمنمِنanysul'ṭāninسلطانسُلْطَٰنٍauthority.inإنإِنNotyattabiʿūnaيتبعونيَتَّبِعُونَthey followillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-ẓanaالظنٱلظَّنَّassumptionwamāوماوَمَاand whattahwāتهوىتَهْوَىdesirel-anfusuالأنفسٱلْأَنفُسُthe(ir) souls.walaqadولقدوَلَقَدْAnd certainlyjāahumجاءهمجَآءَهُمhas come to themminمنمِّنfromrabbihimuربهمرَّبِّهِمُtheir Lordl-hudāالهدىٱلْهُدَىٰٓthe guidance.They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them.These [idols] are no more than names you and your forefathers have made up[9], for which Allah has not sent down any authority. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their souls desire, although there has come to them guidance from their Lord.They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allāh has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!
24 أَمْ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰamأمأَمْOrlil'insāniللإنسانلِلْإِنسَٰنِ(is) for manمامَاwhattamannāتمنىتَمَنَّىٰhe wishes?Or shall man have what he coveteth?Is it that man can get whatever he wishes for[10]?Or is there for man whatever he wishes?Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after?
25 فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأٓخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰfalillahiفللهفَلِلَّهِBut for Allahl-ākhiratuالآخرةٱلْءَاخِرَةُ(is) the lastwal-ūlāوالأولىوَٱلْأُولَىٰand the first.But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former.Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and this world.Rather, to Allāh belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong.
26 ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِي شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓwakamوكموَكَمAnd how manyminمنمِّنofmalakinملكمَّلَكٍ(the) Angelsفيفِىinl-samāwātiالسماواتٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavensلالَاnottugh'nīتغنيتُغْنِىwill availshafāʿatuhumشفاعتهمشَفَٰعَتُهُمْtheir intercessionshayanشيئاشَيْـًٔاanythingillāإلاإِلَّاexceptminمنمِنۢafterbaʿdiبعدبَعْدِafteranأنأَن[that]yadhanaيأذنيَأْذَنَAllah has given permissionl-lahuاللهٱللَّهُAllah has given permissionlimanلمنلِمَنfor whomyashāuيشاءيَشَآءُHe willswayarḍāويرضىوَيَرْضَىٰٓand approves.And how many angels are in the heavens whose intercession availeth naught save after Allah giveth leave to whom He chooseth and accepteth.How many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will be of no avail except after Allah’s permission to whom He wills and pleases.And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allāh has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.
27 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْأٓخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ ٱلْأُنثَىٰinnaإنإِنَّIndeed,alladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whoلالَا(do) notyu'minūnaيؤمنونيُؤْمِنُونَbelievebil-ākhiratiبالآخرةبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِin the Hereafter,layusammūnaليسمونلَيُسَمُّونَsurely they namel-malāikataالملائكةٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَthe Angelstasmiyataتسميةتَسْمِيَةَname(s)l-unthāالأنثىٱلْأُنثَىٰ(of) female,Lo! it is those who disbelieve in the Hereafter who name the angels with the names of females.Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter give the angels female names.Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.
28 وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـٔٗاwamāوماوَمَاAnd notlahumلهملَهُمfor thembihiبهبِهِۦabout itminمنمِنْanyʿil'minعلمعِلْمٍknowledge.inإنإِنNotyattabiʿūnaيتبعونيَتَّبِعُونَthey followillāإلاإِلَّاbutl-ẓanaالظنٱلظَّنَّassumption.wa-innaوإنوَإِنَّAnd indeed,l-ẓanaالظنٱلظَّنَّthe assumptionلالَا(does) notyugh'nīيغنييُغْنِىavailminaمنمِنَagainstl-ḥaqiالحقٱلْحَقِّthe truthshayanشيئاشَيْـًٔاanything.And they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and lo! a guess can never take the place of the truth.They have no knowledge about it. They only follow conjecture, but conjecture is of no avail against the truth.And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.
29 فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَاfa-aʿriḍفأعرضفَأَعْرِضْSo turn awayʿanعنعَنfrommanمنمَّن(him) whotawallāتولىتَوَلَّىٰturns awayʿanعنعَنfromdhik'rināذكرناذِكْرِنَاOur Reminderwalamولموَلَمْand notyuridيرديُرِدْhe desiresillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-ḥayataالحياةٱلْحَيَوٰةَthe lifel-dun'yāالدنياٱلدُّنْيَا(of) the world.Then withdraw (O Muhammad) from him who fleeth from Our remembrance and desireth but the life of the world.So pay no heed to those who turn away from Our message[11] and who only seek the life of this world.So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life.Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.
30 ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰdhālikaذلكذَٰلِكَThatmablaghuhumمبلغهممَبْلَغُهُم(is) their summinaمنمِّنَofl-ʿil'miالعلمٱلْعِلْمِknowledge.innaإنإِنَّIndeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordhuwaهوهُوَ(is) He (Who)aʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُknows bestbimanبمنبِمَن(he) whoḍallaضلضَلَّstraysʿanعنعَنfromsabīlihiسبيلهسَبِيلِهِۦHis Path,wahuwaوهووَهُوَand Heaʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُknows bestbimaniبمنبِمَنِ(he) whoih'tadāاهتدىٱهْتَدَىٰis guided.Such is their sum of knowledge. Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth, and He is Best Aware of him whom goeth right.That is the limit of their knowledge. Indeed, your Lord knows best who has strayed from His Way, and He knows best who is guided.That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.That is as far as knowledge will reach them. Verily thy Lord knoweth best those who stray from His Path, and He knoweth best those who receive guidance.
31 وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَيَجْزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُواْ بِٱلْحُسْنَىwalillahiوللهوَلِلَّهِAnd for Allahمامَا(is) whateverفيفِى(is) inl-samāwātiالسماواتٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِthe heavenswamāوماوَمَاand whateverفيفِى(is) inl-arḍiالأرضٱلْأَرْضِthe earthliyajziyaليجزيلِيَجْزِىَthat He may recompensealladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whoasāūأساءواأَسَٰٓـُٔواْdo evilbimāبمابِمَاwith whatʿamilūعملواعَمِلُواْthey have donewayajziyaويجزيوَيَجْزِىَand recompensealladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَthose whoaḥsanūأحسنواأَحْسَنُواْdo goodbil-ḥus'nāبالحسنىبِٱلْحُسْنَىwith the best.And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil with that which they have done, and reward those who do good with goodness.To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, so that He may recompense the evildoers for what they did, and reward those who do good with the best reward[12],And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] -Yea, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: so that He rewards those who do evil, according to their deeds, and He rewards those who do good, with what is best.
32 ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةَ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمْۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓalladhīnaالذينٱلَّذِينَThose whoyajtanibūnaيجتنبونيَجْتَنِبُونَavoidkabāiraكبائركَبَٰٓئِرَgreatl-ith'miالإثمٱلْإِثْمِsinswal-fawāḥishaوالفواحشوَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَand the immoralitiesillāإلاإِلَّاexceptl-lamamaاللممٱللَّمَمَthe small faults;innaإنإِنَّindeed,rabbakaربكرَبَّكَyour Lordwāsiʿuواسعوَٰسِعُ(is) vastl-maghfiratiالمغفرةٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ(in) forgiveness.huwaهوهُوَHeaʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُ(is) most knowing about youbikumبكمبِكُمْ(is) most knowing about youidhإذإِذْwhenansha-akumأنشأكمأَنشَأَكُمHe produced youminaمنمِّنَfroml-arḍiالأرضٱلْأَرْضِthe earthwa-idhوإذوَإِذْand whenantumأنتمأَنتُمْyou (were)ajinnatunأجنةأَجِنَّةٌfetusesفيفِىinbuṭūniبطونبُطُونِ(the) wombsummahātikumأمهاتكمأُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ(of) your mothers.falāفلافَلَاSo (do) nottuzakkūتزكواتُزَكُّوٓاْascribe purityanfusakumأنفسكمأَنفُسَكُمْ(to) yourselves.huwaهوهُوَHeaʿlamuأعلمأَعْلَمُknows bestbimaniبمنبِمَنِ(he) whoittaqāاتقىٱتَّقَىٰٓfears.Those who avoid enormities of sin and abominations, save the unwilled offences - (for them) lo! thy Lord is of vast mercy. He is Best Aware of you (from the time) when He created you from the earth, and when ye were hidden in the bellies of your mothers. Therefor ascribe not purity unto yourselves. He is Best Aware of him who wardeth off (evil).those who avoid major sins and shameful acts, except for minor lapses. Indeed, your Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you best, as He created you from the earth[13] and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers[14]. So do not claim purity for yourselves, for He knows best who is truly righteous.Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil.
33 أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰafara-aytaأفرأيتأَفَرَءَيْتَDid you seealladhīالذيٱلَّذِىthe one whotawallāتولىتَوَلَّىٰturned awayDidst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away,Have you seen the one who turned away [from Islam],Have you seen the one who turned awaySeest thou one who turns back,
34 وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلٗا وَأَكْدَىٰٓwa-aʿṭāوأعطىوَأَعْطَىٰAnd gaveqalīlanقليلاقَلِيلًاa little,wa-akdāوأكدىوَأَكْدَىٰٓand withheld?And gave a little, then was grudging?who gave a little, and then stopped?And gave a little and [then] refrained?Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)?
35 أَعِندَهُ عِلْمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓaʿindahuأعندهأَعِندَهُIs with himʿil'muعلمعِلْمُ(the) knowledgel-ghaybiالغيبٱلْغَيْبِ(of) the unseen,fahuwaفهوفَهُوَso heyarāيرىيَرَىٰٓsees?Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth?Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he has insight[15]?Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees?[1571]What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see?
36 أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰamأمأَمْOrlamلملَمْnotyunabbaينبأيُنَبَّأْhe was informedbimāبمابِمَاwith whatفيفِى(was) inṣuḥufiصحفصُحُفِ(the) Scripturesmūsāموسىمُوسَىٰ(of) Musa,Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of MosesOr has he not been informed of what is in the Scriptures of Moses,Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of MosesNay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses-
37 وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِي وَفَّىٰٓwa-ib'rāhīmaوإبراهيموَإِبْرَٰهِيمَAnd Ibrahim,alladhīالذيٱلَّذِىwhowaffāوفىوَفَّىٰٓfulfilled?And Abraham who paid his debt:and of Abraham, who fulfilled his duty?And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] -And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?-
38 أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةَ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰallāألاأَلَّاThat nottaziruتزرتَزِرُwill bearwāziratunوازرةوَازِرَةٌa bearer of burdenswiz'raوزروِزْرَ(the) burdenukh'rāأخرىأُخْرَىٰ(of) another,That no laden one shall bear another's load,That no bearer of burden will bear the burden of another,That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of anotherNamely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another;
39 وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰwa-anوأنوَأَنAnd thatlaysaليسلَّيْسَis notlil'insāniللإنسانلِلْإِنسَٰنِfor manillāإلاإِلَّاexceptمامَاwhatsaʿāسعىسَعَىٰhe strives (for),And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort,and that man will not receive except what he strives for,And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strivesThat man can have nothing but what he strives for;
40 وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatsaʿyahuسعيهسَعْيَهُhis strivingsawfaسوفسَوْفَwill soonyurāيرىيُرَىٰbe seen.And that his effort will be seen.and that his efforts will be examined,And that his effort is going to be seen -That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight:
41 ثُمَّ يُجْزَىٰهُ ٱلْجَزَآءَ ٱلْأَوْفَىٰthummaثمثُمَّThenyuj'zāhuيجزاهيُجْزَىٰهُhe will be recompensed for itl-jazāaالجزاءٱلْجَزَآءَthe recompensel-awfāالأوفىٱلْأَوْفَىٰthe fullest.And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment;then he will be recompensed in full,Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense -Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete;
42 وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatilāإلىإِلَىٰtorabbikaربكرَبِّكَyour Lordl-muntahāالمنتهىٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ(is) the final goal.And that thy Lord, He is the goal;and that to your Lord is the final return,And that to your Lord is the finalityThat to thy Lord is the final Goal;
43 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]aḍḥakaأضحكأَضْحَكَmakes (one) laughwa-abkāوأبكىوَأَبْكَىٰand makes (one) weep.And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep,and that He is the One Who makes people laugh and weep[16],And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weepThat it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears;
44 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَاwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]amātaأماتأَمَاتَcauses deathwa-aḥyāوأحياوَأَحْيَاand gives life.And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life;and that He is the One Who causes death and gives life,And that it is He who causes death and gives lifeThat it is He Who granteth Death and Life;
45 وَأَنَّهُ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُAnd that Hekhalaqaخلقخَلَقَcreatedl-zawjayniالزوجينٱلزَّوْجَيْنِthe pairs,l-dhakaraالذكرٱلذَّكَرَthe malewal-unthāوالأنثىوَٱلْأُنثَىٰand the femaleAnd that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female,and that He created the pairs, male and female,And that He creates the two mates - the male and female -That He did create in pairs,- male and female,
46 مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰminمنمِنFromnuṭ'fatinنطفةنُّطْفَةٍa semen-dropidhāإذاإِذَاwhentum'nāتمنىتُمْنَىٰit is emitted.From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth;from a drop of sperm when it is emitted,From a sperm-drop when it is emittedFrom a seed when lodged (in its place);
47 وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰwa-annaوأنوَأَنَّAnd thatʿalayhiعليهعَلَيْهِupon Himl-nashataالنشأةٱلنَّشْأَةَ(is) the bringing forthl-ukh'rāالأخرىٱلْأُخْرَىٰanother.And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth;and it is upon Him to bring about the second creation.And that [incumbent] upon Him is the other [i.e., next] creation.That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead);
48 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]aghnāأغنىأَغْنَىٰenricheswa-aqnāوأقنىوَأَقْنَىٰand suffices.And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth;And He is the One Who enriches and bestows wealth,And that it is He who enriches and sufficesThat it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction;
49 وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُAnd that Hehuwaهوهُوَ[He]rabbuربرَبُّ(is the) Lordl-shiʿ'rāالشعرىٱلشِّعْرَىٰ(of) SiriusAnd that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius;and that He is the Lord of Sirius[17].And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius[1572]That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star);
50 وَأَنَّهُٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰwa-annahuوأنهوَأَنَّهُٓAnd that HeahlakaأهلكأَهْلَكَdestroyedʿādanعاداعَادًاAadl-ūlāالأولىٱلْأُولَىٰthe first,And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad,And that He destroyed the earlier ‘Ād[18],And that He destroyed the first [people of] ʿAadAnd that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people),
51 وَثَمُودَاْ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰwathamūdāوثمودوَثَمُودَاْAnd Thamud,famāفمافَمَآso notabqāأبقىأَبْقَىٰHe spared,And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not;and Thamūd[19], sparing none,And Thamūd - and He did not spare [them] -And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life.
52 وَقَوْمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبْلُۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰwaqawmaوقوموَقَوْمَAnd (the) peoplenūḥinنوحنُوحٍ(of) Nuhminمنمِّنbefore.qabluقبلقَبْلُbefore.innahumإنهمإِنَّهُمْIndeed, theykānūكانواكَانُواْthey werehumهمهُمْthey wereaẓlamaأظلمأَظْلَمَmore unjustwa-aṭghāوأطغىوَأَطْغَىٰand more rebellious.And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious;and [He destroyed] the people of Noah before them; they were indeed more wicked and more rebellious.And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing.And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors,
53 وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰwal-mu'tafikataوالمؤتفكةوَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَAnd the overturned citiesahwāأهوىأَهْوَىٰHe overthrewAnd Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyedAnd He toppled the cities[20] upside down,And the overturned towns[1573] He hurled downAnd He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah).
54 فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰfaghashāhāفغشاهافَغَشَّىٰهَاSo covered themمامَاwhatghashāغشىغَشَّىٰcovered.So that there covered them that which did cover.and they were utterly covered [by stones][21].And covered them by that which He covered.[1574]So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up.
55 فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰfabi-ayyiفبأيفَبِأَىِّThen which (of)ālāiآلاءءَالَآءِthe Favorsrabbikaربكرَبِّكَ(of) your Lord,tatamārāتتمارىتَتَمَارَىٰwill you doubt?Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute?Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about?
56 هَٰذَا نَذِيرَ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓhādhāهذاهَٰذَاThisnadhīrunنذيرنَذِيرٌ(is) a warner,minaمنمِّنَfroml-nudhuriالنذرٱلنُّذُرِthe warnersl-ūlāالأولىٱلْأُولَىٰٓthe former.This is a warner of the warners of old.This [Prophet] is a warner like the earlier warners.This [Prophet (ﷺ)] is a warner from [i.e., like] the former warners.This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old!
57 أَزِفَتِ ٱلْأٓزِفَةُazifatiأزفتأَزِفَتِHas approachedl-āzifatuالآزفةٱلْءَازِفَةُthe Approaching Day.The threatened Hour is nigh.The imminent Hour has drawn near,The Approaching Day has approached.The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh:
58 لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌlaysaليسلَيْسَNot islahāلهالَهَاfor itminمنمِنbesidesdūniدوندُونِbesidesl-lahiاللهٱللَّهِAllahkāshifatunكاشفةكَاشِفَةٌany remover.None beside Allah can disclose it.none but Allah can disclose it.Of it, [from those] besides Allāh, there is no remover.No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare.
59 أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَafaminأفمنأَفَمِنْThen ofhādhāهذاهَٰذَاthisl-ḥadīthiالحديثٱلْحَدِيثِstatementtaʿjabūnaتعجبونتَعْجَبُونَyou wonder?Marvel ye then at this statement,Do you find this discourse astonishing,Then at this statement do you wonder?Do ye then wonder at this recital?
60 وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَwataḍḥakūnaوتضحكونوَتَضْحَكُونَAnd you laughwalāولاوَلَاand (do) nottabkūnaتبكونتَبْكُونَweep,And laugh and not weep,and you laugh [at it] and not weep,And you laugh and do not weepAnd will ye laugh and not weep,-
61 وَأَنتُمْ سَٰمِدُونَwa-antumوأنتموَأَنتُمْWhile yousāmidūnaسامدونسَٰمِدُونَamuse (yourselves)?While ye amuse yourselves?while heedlessly lost in amusement?While you are proudly sporting?[1575]Wasting your time in vanities?
62 فَٱسْجُدُواْ لِلَّهِ وَٱعْبُدُواْ۩fa-us'judūفاسجدوافَٱسْجُدُواْSo prostratelillahiللهلِلَّهِto Allahwa-uʿ'budūواعبدواوَٱعْبُدُواْand worship (Him).Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him.So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him].So prostrate to Allāh and worship [Him].But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)!

ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ
ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ
ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ
ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ
ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ
ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ
ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ
ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ
ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ
ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ
ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ
ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ
ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ
ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ
ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ
ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ
ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ
ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ
ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭ
ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃﳄ ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ
ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ
ﳐ ﳑ ﳒ
ﳔ ﳕ ﳖ ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ ﳚ ﳛ ﳜ ﳝ ﳞ ﳟ ﳠ ﳡ ﳢ ﳣ ﳤ ﳥ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ
ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ
ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ
ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ
ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ
ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪﲫ ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ
ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ
ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ
ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ
ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ
ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ
ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ
ﳐ ﳑ ﳒ ﳓ ﳔ ﳕ
ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ ﳚ
ﳜ ﳝ ﳞ ﳟ
ﳡ ﳢ ﳣ ﳤ
ﳦ ﳧ ﳨ ﳩ
ﳫ ﳬ ﳭ ﳮ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ
ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ
ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ
ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ
ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ
ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ
ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ
ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ
ﱮ ﱯ
ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ
ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ
ﱿ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ
ﲀ ﲁ
ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ
ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ
ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ
ﲓ ﲔ
ﲛﲜ ﲖ ﲗﲘ ﲙﲚ ﲝ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ
ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ
ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ
ﱦ ﱧ ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ ﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ
ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ
ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ
ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ
ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ
ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ
ﲭ ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ
ﲸ ﲹ ﲺ ﲻﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃﳄ
ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ
ﳑ ﳒ ﳓ ﳔ ﳕ ﳖ ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ ﳚ ﳛ
ﳜ ﳝ ﳞ ﳟ ﳠ ﳡ ﳢ ﳣ ﳤ ﳥ ﳦ ﳧ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ
ﱋ ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔﱕ ﱖ ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ
ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧ
ﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭﱮ ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ
ﱶ ﱷ ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ
ﲂ ﲃ ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ
ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓﲔ
ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ ﲝ ﲞ ﲟ ﲠ
ﲡ ﲢ ﲣ ﲤ ﲥ ﲦﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪﲫ ﲬ ﲭ
ﲮ ﲯ ﲰ ﲱ ﲲ ﲳ ﲴ ﲵ ﲶ ﲷ
ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ ﳄ
ﳅ ﳆ ﳇ ﳈ ﳉ ﳊ ﳋ ﳌ ﳍ ﳎ ﳏ
ﳑ ﳒ ﳓ ﳔ ﳕ ﳖ ﳗ ﳘ ﳙ ﳚ ﳛ
ﳝ ﳞ ﳟ ﳠ ﳡ ﳢ ﳣ ﳤ ﳥ ﳦ
ﳧ ﳨ ﳩ ﳪ ﳫ ﳬ ﳭ ﳮ ﳯ ﳰ
ﱁ ﱂ ﱃ ﱄ ﱅ ﱆ ﱇ ﱈ ﱉ ﱊ
ﱌ ﱍ ﱎ ﱏ ﱐ ﱑ ﱒ ﱓ ﱔ ﱕ
ﱗ ﱘ ﱙ ﱚ ﱛ ﱜ ﱝ ﱞ ﱟ ﱠ ﱡ
ﱢ ﱣ ﱤ ﱥ ﱦ ﱧﱨ ﱩ ﱪ ﱫ ﱬ ﱭ
ﱯ ﱰ ﱱ ﱲ ﱳ ﱴ ﱵ ﱶ ﱷ
ﱸ ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ ﱽ ﱾ ﱿ ﲀ ﲁ ﲂ
ﲄ ﲅ ﲆ ﲇ ﲈ ﲉ ﲊ ﲋ ﲌ ﲍ
ﲎ ﲏ ﲐ ﲑ ﲒ ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ
ﲗﲘ ﲙﲚ ﲛﲜ ﲝ
وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ١ مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ٢ وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ
الْهَوَىٰ ٣ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ ٤ عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَىٰ ٥
ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَىٰ ٦ وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَىٰ ٧ ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ ٨
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ ٩ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَىٰ ١٠
مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰ ١١ أَفَتُمَارُونَهُ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ ١٢ وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ
نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ ١٣ عِندَ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنتَهَىٰ ١٤ عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ الْمَأْوَىٰ ١٥
إِذْ يَغْشَى السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ ١٦ مَا زَاغَ الْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ١٧ لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ
مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَىٰ ١٨ أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ اللَّاتَ وَالْعُزَّىٰ ١٩ وَمَنَاةَ
الثَّالِثَةَ الْأُخْرَىٰ ٢٠ أَلَكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الْأُنثَىٰ ٢١ تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ
ضِيزَىٰ ٢٢ إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا أَسْمَاءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُم مَّا أَنزَلَ
اللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَانٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى الْأَنفُسُ
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ الْهُدَىٰ ٢٣ أَمْ لِلْإِنسَانِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ ٢٤ فَلِلَّهِ
الْآخِرَةُ وَالْأُولَىٰ ٢٥ ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ لَا
تُغْنِي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْضَىٰ ٢٦
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ الْأُنثَىٰ ٢٧
وَمَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ
الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا ٢٨ فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا الْحَيَاةَ
الدُّنْيَا ٢٩ ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن
سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ ٣٠ وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي
الْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاءُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا
بِالْحُسْنَى ٣١ الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ
وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ فَلَا تُزَكُّوا أَنفُسَكُمْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ
بِمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ ٣٢ أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ ٣٣ وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًا وَأَكْدَىٰ
٣٤ أَعِندَهُ عِلْمُ الْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰ ٣٥ أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ
مُوسَىٰ ٣٦ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِي وَفَّىٰ ٣٧ أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ
٣٨ وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَانِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ ٣٩ وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
٤٠ ثُمَّ يُجْزَاهُ الْجَزَاءَ الْأَوْفَىٰ ٤١ وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الْمُنتَهَىٰ ٤٢
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ ٤٣ وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا ٤٤
وَأَنَّهُ خَلَقَ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ ٤٥ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ
٤٦ وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُخْرَىٰ ٤٧ وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ ٤٨ وَأَنَّهُ
هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرَىٰ ٤٩ وَأَنَّهُ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا الْأُولَىٰ ٥٠ وَثَمُودَ فَمَا
أَبْقَىٰ ٥١ وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ
٥٢ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ ٥٣ فَغَشَّاهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ ٥٤ فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ
رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ٥٥ هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ النُّذُرِ الْأُولَىٰ ٥٦ أَزِفَتِ الْآزِفَةُ
٥٧ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ٥٨ أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ
تَعْجَبُونَ ٥٩ وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ ٦٠ وَأَنتُمْ سَامِدُونَ
٦١ فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا ۩ ٦٢
وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ۝١ مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ۝٢ وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ
ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ ۝٣ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيَ يُوحَىٰ ۝٤ عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ ۝٥
ذُو مِرَّةٖ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ ۝٦ وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۝٧ ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ ۝٨
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ ۝٩ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ ۝١٠
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ ۝١١ أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ ۝١٢ وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ
نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ ۝١٣ عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ ۝١٤ عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ ۝١٥
إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ ۝١٦ مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ۝١٧ لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ
مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ ۝١٨ أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ ۝١٩ وَمَنَوٰةَ
ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ ۝٢٠ أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ ۝٢١ تِلْكَ إِذٗا قِسْمَةَ
ضِيزَىٰٓ ۝٢٢ إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءَ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ
